How ya'll decarbonizing your gas ports on these?
>>
>>65100763
I'm new to this gun. I've only shot 40 rounds through it and did a quick clean. I don't know how to clean the gas ports effectively so it might come down to throwing the entire barrel into the ultrasonic bath. Do you have suggestions?

For me, it's the Beretta M38. I love round drilled barrel shrouds like on the 1919 Browning and wooden stocks like on a millio old guns.

Any and all stainless guns, whether revolvers or autoloaders. My personal favorites are the Bren Ten and the ever elusive double stack 1911, 2011's dont quite do it for me

FG42 (late)

It is definitively the most begged for repro rifle of all time, and everyone who has tried to make it authenticly and for a reasonable price has failed and kicked the can down the road.

>>65100763
That’s just not a problem unless you shoot unjacketed lead ammo that’s not properly hardened.

>repro
A dream gun is a repromod FG 42 in 6.5 Grendel. Precision (better than the attempts thus far) exact dimension and materials replica except for the barrel bore/breech/chamber/magazines. Select fire controllability and retains the reach out smack.

If the ammo wasn't proprietary, and the original gun didn't cost 7k it might have had more market penetration.
OTOH, I imagine that without the special "recoil attenuation" system, the cartridge probably has more recoil than .45acp. Given that .45acp is the greatest recoil most people want to regularly handle (see the FBI, most police departments, most armies, etc) I doubt it would see anything more than niche proliferation.
Which is not to say it isn't a fantastic cartridge for what it is. It's just that it's a cartridge most people aren't going to be interested in.
9x25 Dillon has similar ballistics, and given nearly identical grain weight and velocity of rounds, I expect their recoil would be very similar, and I know from experience 9x25 Dillon is considerably more recoil than a .45acp in the same platform.
Where the 7.5fk shines in comparison to the 9x25Dillon is sectional density, thus penetration and retention of velocity down range. While those are very real and significant advantages; they're only really applicable to a very narrow group of people. Folks like armed security at installations that might see attacks from armed and armored adversaries. I'm thinking armored truck drivers, federal deposit locations, diamond exchange, that sort of thing. Places that house an enormous quantity of valuables but everyone knows they're very well guarded so the only folks who are going to try will be well organized and well equipped for the job.
Outside of that I don't see 7.5fk doing anything that can't be done just as well with a cheaper round in a cheaper platform.
>>
>>65100634
why dont they come up with more hand cannons? surely its not because of usefulness considering big revolvers get made all the time
>>
>>65103819
Concur. It's still an awesome round and firearm of the new century.
I think if other separate (from the Field Pistol) gun designs such as a carbine or submachine gun/PDW would come forward it'd have a chance to survive.

Even if they just made a version of the PSD that wasn't so fucking hideous they'd have a better shot at keeping the cartridge alive.
