Kek, nice list. Obviously you're trying to come up with the combo of silliest ones ever, but:
>>Range open to members only, no visitors, no exceptions
This one I've never seen anywhere, because it goes against not just member wishes/specialness but also making $$$$. Basically all members want to be able to invite family or friends or something once in awhile and show off their fancy club and stuff. At the same time that's also how a lot of places with high fees slowly grow their memberships, non-members get brought in by members and end up liking it and being a good match.

D-do I need to tip my RSO?
>>
>>65100994
What kind of question is that, sonny? He's out here volunteering his valuable time! He gives you the judgemental gaze that indicates you are a dumb kid in his highly experienced eyes and had better tip him VERY generously. Plus extra for having to explain it to you!

Fuck.

Believe it or not, many of the shitty rules are driven by NRA range insurance. No FMJ on outdoor ranges, 5 seconds between each shot, etc.
Fuck the NRA. Other gun groups are doing more with less.

Every time my family and friends visit from the northwest, I take them to our fabulous southwest ranges. Every trip leads to their jaw hitting the floor with how chill it is.
>$5-10 per shooter per day
>cool ROs
>good shooting facility

offer you to try it
>Range rules could fit on a post it note
Every time I think of moving out of AZ I just laugh that thought right out of my head

That's why they always like to be in numbers when facing off against anyone remotely competent with a gun. Your average cop is worse than your average gun hobbyist in terms of manual of arms plus tactics in many cases.

>Faggot gay ranges like this are why national forests exist. Find a hillside in the boons and post up
Or BLM land, or in many states state forest as well. A trick I use a lot is to use satellite and some scouting to find logging areas. Usual pattern is to clear a strip, then let it grow back and go somewhere else. So you can get pretty long cleared spaces that will be good for a few years until the trees really start to grow in, are way far away, and also have convenient roads to get into them (assuming you've got a vehicle with a bit of travel).

But this is super geography dependent, some of us have very nice convenient locations for this and other poor souls are stuck in hell with zero public land within hours. Even gun friendly states can be shitty about that. In that case you either have to buy your own, have friends with land, or figure out a range.

nta but duh? The thing is though anon that you're simply describing the super power of any government or big force using organization: they can always escalate, there are always more. The front line mooks don't NEED to be particularly competent, they aren't the real threat just level 1. The real threat is what stands behind them, from more experienced mooks to SWAT or the like to national guard all the way up to the actual military.

"Quantity has a quality all its own" and all that sort of thing.

Huh.
I'm on the board of directors for a local range, the N.R.A has said fuckall about any rules we have.
>>65101090
No one else is willing to do it.
>>
>>65101128
Well I'm giving a short explanation as to why cops lose to range autists. I'd only expect SWAT guys to come close to most people that do shooting events.

Annoyingly, Ben Avery has gone back to having "blocks" of time on the weekends, which are handled on tablets. At least on weekdays, they didn't have it the last time I went.

>I'm on the board of directors for a local range, the N.R.A has said fuckall about any rules we have.
different anon, dunno any details but what that other anon said was specifically about insurance. It's not like you're required to have insurance from the NRA there are other providers, some kinds of ranges don't bother at all. Liability depends on the state, in my state private landowners are completely protected from liability for any recreation they allow on their land that isn't for profit, and that isn't the result of actual misconduct. So there are some places around that just have open ranges for people, you chip in to repair damage, normal maintenance, and that's it, you just show up. No RSOs or anything, and they have no insurance.
>>
>>65101080
>$5-10 per shooter per day
it used be that price at my local range now it has fee of $20 per day for non-members. I will not pay $40 dollars just to zero my rifles or target shooting with my father, lucky there is couple of BLM land near my area that is around 100 yards.

>Well I'm giving a short explanation as to why cops lose to range autists. I'd only expect SWAT guys to come close to most people that do shooting events.
Sure, I get what you're saying, just was adding that it's not really surprising is it? Most of a normal cop's job isn't supposed to be shooting stuff, in an ideal world they'd never shoot anyone, it'd be enough to issue tickets, make arrests without violence or to do paper work and deescalation and tell people to stop being dicks to each other and settle down or go home or whatever. Obviously in practice sometimes they do need them but in most parts of the country it'll be rare.

We have N.R.A. Insurance. We just got done voting on renewing it.
It is a semi-private club, to that may have some bearing, but can't say.
about 60% of the membership are N.R.A. members, and maybe 40% of the board are.
I'm still waiting for the fuckery installed by LaPierre and Hammer to fuck off before I even consider sending them money.
>>
The nearest outdoor range by me is a hour away. The ranges near me either require a NRA membership, which I won't pay for, or you got those gayass member meetings and community service.
>>
>>65101174
>We have N.R.A. Insurance. We just got done voting on renewing it.
Then either the other anon is a big faggot, his info is simply out of date, the NRA offers different kinds of plans to different places (fwiw, this would hardly be unusual for insurance in general, would make sense if they think you're in an area with a lot of, uh, "urban market" risk, maybe they'd demand more rules or else that you pay a higher premium), or the ranges in question are lying faggots and blaming the NRA for shitty rules they want to impose themselves.
>I'm still waiting for the fuckery installed by LaPierre and Hammer to fuck off before I even consider sending them money.
Yeah I'm done with it, I joined ASA instead. NRA went down a bad path but unfortunately I think that's more the rule than the exception for organizations that live long enough. Eventually they start focusing on squeezing money and self-propagation and self-bureaucracy more than their original mission.

Remember that Hammer and LaPierre were the response to the original rot in the organization!

Reminder that most range rules are there because someone did something retarded in the past and the range is trying to prevent future occurrences.
>>
>>65101332
Unfortunately this. Our range is now no firing faster than 2 second intervals. No braced firearms, no nfa firearms, no PCCs on the pistol side. LEO actually caused it by shooting over our berm on full auto and hitting a boat.

City closed the range for awhile so I'm thankful they opened it at all.
>>
The municipal/city run range near me has the dumbest fuck rule ever - weapons must be out of their cases/bolts locked back. Other than that it's alright except th0e (unenforced) 1 shot/second rule.

The nearest indoor range for when the weather sucks has just about no restrictions, except a new fuckin horrible one that you can't bring in loaded rifle mags. They said people were sneaking in steel-core or something. Had to sit there and manually empty 10 pmags at the counter into a bucket. Should've walked straight out

I prefer the private outdoor range I pay for membership at, just about anything goes
>>
>>65101332
The only hard rules our range has are "no centerfire rifles larger than .50 BMG", "no shooting the steel poppers on the pistol range with centerfire rifles" and "No artillery/pyro/explosive rounds".
>>
>>65101207
>Remember that Hammer and LaPierre were the response to the original rot in the organization!
Kind of.
They were "a response" not "the needed response".

You mean work party hours? I just flip burgers for the annual raffle and occasionally paint something.
You're a faggot.
>>
>>65100935
If it is for absolute beginners, sure. You want to drill gun safety from the start and also avoid accidents with beginners. Also I think this is to avoid suicide attempts. Once you got experience, go shoot elsewhere.
