Glock created a new zeitgeist for pistol design in the 80s. But now we don't have to pay $200 and wait a year to get suppressors anymore, and people are figuring out that their Berettas run better with suppressors than Glocks do. I think this phenomena could shape the future market. We might see hammer fired and non-tilting actions making a big comeback.

People only dont use berettas or hk's over glonks because theyre poor, gay or both. That doesnt change by making suppressors slightly less prohibitive to get

I want to see NEWER designs that are integral suppressed, not older ones. Only older one I'd like would be an updated Maxim 9 with that better trigger and whatever 3D print voodoo improvements they can add. But what I want more are ultra compact 380s or 32acp integral suppressed guns.

Suppressed pistols are for funsies or crime a la Luigi. So no.

Retard alert

I hope so. A new production Nagant would be cool. I would even buy an SBR suppressed Nagant, that would be cool as fuck.

Glock suppesors need recoil booster to work. M9s dont though it wont hurt anything if it has one.
The argument could be made well since it doesnt need that componet you can have a cheaper/lighter supressor but its a stupid argument.

Nta,
M9s need a booster if the suppressor is like 8oz or more. The barrel moves forward/backward slightly during cycling.
A 8+oz suppressor may cause cycling issues without a booster.

I do agree that the M9 is better suited for suppressors, though. Tilting barrels look dumb as fuck, and striker fired guns are gay.

Steyr GBros rise up.

Not always correct as >>65101963 pointed out, but we'll let it stand for the purpose of discussing it. That having been said, is requiring a Nielsen device a significant disadvantage? Are they expensive or difficult to acquire? Are they unreliable? Also
>it wont hurt anything if it has one
Nothing besides the locking block, anyway. Not that those ever have issues already on the M9 or anything.

Not a chance in hell

Considering only 9mm:
>straight blowback
9mm tests the limited of that, nobody likes it, heavy spring
>rotary
PX4 is your huckleberry but the downside is that your pistol would need to be reverse threaded otherwise it comes loose with every shot. The reverse however could over-tigthen your suppressor. Suck or suck, basically
>locking block
Only viable mechanism, if you want it, there's a 92 with your name on it
>everything else
Too esoteric, good pistol design takes a lot of engineering. This is why tilting barrel is king, because it was figured out over 100 years ago and improved on basically until the P220 where it hasn't really changed since.

A booster is an easier sell than an untested pistol. To think suppressors will cause a cosmic shift in pistol design is not likely. Consider the BHP was around for nearly 40 years until someone decided to compete against it (Model 59) and the BHP is considered a major design shift in pistols

I'd say the weight is the biggest disadvantage. There's also possible issues of baffle strikes with full auto fire.

On my mine, the booster is the heaviest bit. It's pretty noticable when it's on there.

Excuse me

This phenomenon
These phenomena

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Pic related because not enough people will see this otherwise. Please. This is important.

Echelons run great with cans, and have more modern features than a 92fs

You got me interested enough to check for myself. Given that I actually own a suppressor or two, I took it upon myself to weigh my Osprey 45. I didn't bother to compare different pistons or the fixed spacer because as you're about to see, it probably doesn't really matter.
>total weight 11.05 ounces with whatever piston was installed and spring
>weight of piston and spring alone is 2.5 ounces
I'm going to have to bust you on this one anon. That's a whopping 2.5 ounce difference, and while I didn't bother to weigh the fixed spacer, it's probably about the same weight as the spring. If 2.5 ounces (or likely less) is giving you trouble, the pistol is not the problem.

What are the other reasons (if any) that a Beretta suppresses better than a tilting barrel pistol?

In the future a muzzle break, suppressor, comp will all be the same item.
