You're being rather flippant and dismissive throughout this thread my guy. Like I said, the issue is to the point that "just going out" isn't enough, and you clearly have a privileged background that's making you have difficulty comprehending the struggles a lot of people are facing with their financial, social and geographical issues. Some towns, and by extension people, are just up a creek without a paddle and they can't buy their way into a new life. Covid did more to social scenes and to Gen Z mental health than you seem to realize, and it is not at all merely a result of someone not being "manly" or "strong" enough to interact with people. If your advice isn't landing because it doesn't apply, that's not a result of them "giving up," it's just that you're not helping. Suggesting a move to a big city is a massive financial expenditure and a risk, people aren't following that because they're too weak it's that they genuinely cannot afford to do that.

If you want to help, ease up on the attitude, try to have some empathy and see where they're coming from. It's a lot more than just some weak shut-ins with zero social skills who refuse to act on a slew of options available to them. I got a good job opportunity and could afford to move to Denton and meet a fine woman to make a wife. I'm not going to scoff and call my younger brother a failed man who is giving up because he's having legitimate difficulties trying to make things work in little Eastland.
