A squad of these things dug in on a reverse slope would be a fucking nightmare against anything but a heavy armor unit if you didn't have air or artillery support. Nothing says 'welcome to the DPRK' quite like 600 30mm grenades falling on you like rain from over a mile away.
>>65108013The twin 30mm AGLs are mechanically linked to the main gun so in normal operation the gunner can fire them using the sights for the main gun. However there is a 'gear' for lack of a better way to describe it in that mechanical linkage that allows you to raise them to a 45+degree angle, this effectively turns the 30mm AGLs into automatic light mortars. The belts have 30 rounds each so each tank can do the equitant of 60 light mortar rounds from a maximum of 2 miles. 5x60=300.I was wrong when i said '600 30mm grenades falling on you like rain from over a mile away' it is is 300 from two miles.

>>65106421been thinking of an APC/IFV designed for modern trench warfare, similar to conditions seen in Ukraine. Rather than acting as a traditional tank, it focuses on engaging troops in cover such as trenches, fortified positions, and urban strongpoints. Its main weapon is a large-bore indirect-fire gun mounted in a forward-positioned turret. This gun delivers high-explosive and airburst rounds onto targets outside direct line of sight, guided by a drone operated by the vehicle’s radio operator, who tags enemy positions for accurate fire. It can also fire a shotgun-style shell, similar in concept to fragmentation rounds used by Japanese battleship Yamato, dispersing projectiles for use against drones or exposed infantry. For close defense, the vehicle mounts one or two 4-gauge shotgun turrets, primarily used as automated anti-drone systems against FPV threats, though they might come at the cost of flying wildlife. The turret is placed far forward with about 160° traverse, featuring heavily sloped frontal armor and a V-shaped lower plate for deflection and blast resistance. Internally, the layout places the turret in front, engine behind it, and crew compartments in the rear. The vehicle is longer than a typical APC but not heavier in its lightweight configuration. Its armor consists of an inner aluminum hull and outer steel plating, with Kevlar containers filled with non-Newtonian fluid between them. This modular system improves resistance to shrapnel and small arms, and can be adjusted for weight or protection depending on mission needs.Overall, the vehicle emphasizes survivability against artillery fragments, drones, and heavy small arms, operating alongside infantry as a protected fire support and transport platform.

Weird ask but does anyone have pictures of the m60a3s the USAF pushed into service with a EOD unit in Iraq?
