If you want to stop a man you need something much nastier, do research into the harshest solvents you can find aerosolized.
Oven cleaner (not the fume free kind), chlorinated break cleaner, battery terminal cleaner, etc.
Then consider the risk of that shit wafting back in your own face as happens all the time with OC spray and how effectively it projects a mist.
We circle back to wasp spray and WD 40, the main reason aside from marketing that people go and buy wasp spray rather than use WD40 is that it projects further.
All of these previously mentioned candidates and your own may not have a spray pattern conducive to self defense and if they do it makes them all the more dangerous to use

The warning on the side of a can of wasp spray devotes a great portion to warning about not getting it in to the water supply, not letting it drip on the ground etc. It is not at all benign.

Not him but I happened to have 2 similar sized cans of wasp spray (Raid specifically, IMO Spectracide is better) and DW40 handy and their warning are pretty much identical in size & scope. There are plenty of videos of people willingly taking wasp spray to the face to test it and they all say it's bunk so I wouldn't trust it as more than a distraction.

that's a lie. I've been sprayed in the eyes, it didn't do anything. there are multiple youtube videos showing it does nothing as well.

Insects also appear to have capsaicin receptors, but since they breathe through lateral abdominal openings, it's questionable whether it would be as effective as pepper spray on mammals.

Ngl bros I started pickling peppers while my gf was out for work and getting a jalapeno-serrano-garlic-dill-bay leaf mix on my eyelids fucked me up for days, I couldn't wash it out with an eye bath and it kept getting into my eyes, shit was awful. Didn't even spray it into my eyes, I think it was in my finger pores even after washing and it stuck to my eyelids and sunk in there

There are much nastier things than mace sold in your average grocery store.
Picrel is literally just lye solution in a spray can.
It will cause severe chemical burns and permanent soft tissue damage real fucking quick, literally on par with actual sulfur mustards in that regard.
Get this shit in your eyes without washing it out instantly and you'll be blind for the rest of your life.

That being said, I can't recommend using this in self defense.
It'll probably land you in prison.

If you are really going to cuck out and carry a consumer spray for self-defense, go to an outdoors supply store and buy a fog can of grizzly mace. Only use it in situations where you would use a gun, most states you'll be fine
