I want a sub-MOA short range plinker, is it possible to achieve that level of accuracy with an air rifle? Would a .22lr be more cost effective?
>>65110592>>65102323Lurkmoar, shithead. Though, it's probably you anyway.
>>65110592You might want to get a break-barreled .22 then. You don't need to worry about getting a pump to fill the pcps. You get decent power because most of them are 1000 fps. Lastly, you can buy tins of pellets for around $ 10.
>>65110592>is it possible to achieve that level of accuracy with an air rifle?Easily.>Would a .22lr be more cost effective? That depends on what distance you want to shoot at. An air rifle is more economical at shorter ranges because basic 'diabolo' style pellets are cheap. However, ''slugs'--high-BC air rifle bullets used for shooting at longer ranges--cost more than .22LR ammo.
>>65110598Bump for op
I've been exploring this and bought an air venturi avengeX. It can reliably shoot a 1cm group at 20M. However I'm not very happy with it. Its a plasticy piece of shit for the 500USD that it costs. If you apply any torque to the stock, or even hold it differently, this effects the zero. I bought a Chinese electric pump for 200USD, and it kind of work but has constant issues. One nice thing about PCPs is you can go lead free, and then you plink off the back porch and around the kids and pets without having to wash your hands and control the lead all the time.
>>65111848Why are you writing USD instead of $?
>>65111862autism probably
>>65111862>reeeee other countries exist reeeeeeNever would have expected "gun guys" would be a bunch of illiterate shut-ins, what an interesting board this is
>>65111890a. other countries shouldn't existb. $ is a symbol on the keyboard. it seems like it's more effort to write USD than $
Airguns are more accurate than firearms, but it's not worth it how expensive they are. You need to add a good compressor to the price too. They are cool if you are in a cucked country or if you have spare money and you want to shoot it in your backyard silenced without going to jail
>>65110592>is it possible to achieve that level of accuracy with an air rifle?Yes.>Would a .22lr be more cost effective? The airgun is more expensive but the ammo is much cheaper. >>65111668>basic 'diabolo' style pellets are cheap. However, ''slugs'--high-BC air rifle bullets used for shooting at longer ranges--cost more than .22LR ammo.I see, good point. I only considered basic ammo.
>>65110592bro get a .22 air rifle
>>65111932It's easier on mobile to write usd than hit the symbols button and then search for the $
>>65111932I'm not the original guy who wrote USD, but $ is the abbreviation for like half of all currencies around the world, including ones that aren't even "dollars". It just becomes habit if you are in the practice of discussing contracts and quotes with people in different parts of the worldObviously, my direct contacts will know I'm an american in the US in a US business that does business in dollars, but it's just basic politeness. On top of which, if you send 1000 emails a month with $ in it, and those emails get forwarded around various pointy headed bosses at the firm that you sent the quote to, often devoid of context, sooner or later someone is going to say "oh we thought you meant singapore dollars" whether in good faith or not, and then you have a problem that was easily preventedSo it's just better to say USD. It's like specifying time zones when discussing scheduling on the internet, yeah they can see my signature, they can see my phone number and infer what I probably mean, but again, it's more polite to spell it out, and even if most of the time people can figure it out, the avoidable misunderstandings that happen 0.5% of the time are not worth the painNow I know yeah USA #1 best potassium in the world they hate us cuz they ain't us, but maybe when you grow up you'll understand
>>65112239>mobile
>>65112239>mobile usersfaggot>>65112240why would you give a shit about what third world countries use? everyone knows $ is USD
>>65112247Because third world cunts have people who want to pay people in first world cunts for goods and services. Or are you saying america doesn't make good stuff? Choose your next words carefully, commie.
>>65112252you aren't selling shit to people on 4chan, retardo
>>65112275Correct on both counts. I'm not selling anything here, and I lost so many brain cells interacting with you that I'm now functionally retarded, thanks
>>65112306you were before we started
>>65112245>>65112247Im not even the guy you're complaining about Im just saying there's a logic to spelling usd
>>65110592Air rifles have a higher accuracy ceiling than firearms.
>>65110592If you want something cheap to just mess around at 10 meters, I'd pickup a Daisy-Avanti 753, good ones will shoot 1-1.3 moa when firing match grade pellets, it's a single stroke pneumatic, so you don't have to mess with pumping up a reservoir, and it's like $200.If you want to spend a little bit more on a PCP 10m competition rifle then I'd get the air arms s400 for like $1200. Olympic grade air rifles are North of $5k.
>>65112773this. Or get a Daisy 880 or Crosman 362 if you want to dip your toes into airguns.
