Drone Warfare and Small Agile Vehicles. Did they pretty much change the game of warfare?
>>
>>65111924
It depends on what you're trying to do. They seem to be incredibly good at disrupting civilian infrastructure and inflicting economic pain, but of limited effectiveness against typical naval and air power.

Iran, for example, can't disrupt the USN's global blockade of Iranian shipping with speed boats whose range is measured in the double digit.
>>
>>65111924
Not until they launch missiles bigger than the boats are and sink the entire carrier group.
>>
>>65111924
SAVs have been around since like the 2000s with the Cole bombing, compared to drones they're much more of a nothing burger since we've trained responses against them for decades
Drones are drones but they've been exhaustingly discussed on this board anyways
Irans also been repeating this tweet for like two weeks. Unless the IRGC hardliners are retarded enough to try and offensively strike US ships, restarting the war again, the blockade will probably stay until mid May at LEAST unless new circumstances arise
Expect Nothing to ever Happen until the Iranian economy forces them to concede while rhetorically saying that they won eternally
>>
>It will encounter a severe reaction
Oh nyo.
>>
>>65111960
>SAVs have been around since like the 2000s with the Cole bombing
longer than that. they built a fleet of Boghammars in the 80s.
>>
>>65111924
Flying drones do because they are PGMs for a couple of thousand dollars.
Boats don't because we have had high speed suicide boats since WW2, the only difference in less insane militaries can use them now.
>>
>>65111960
>until the Iranian economy forces them to concede
So never, then. Because the consequences of conceeding would be worse for them than even total economic collapse.
>>
>>65112682
...you do realize that you can't pay the elites if your economy collapsed
people switch up when they stop getting paid
>>
>>65112684
That'd be normally teh case, excpet Trump and Bibi made it clear that their goal is to erase Iran as an independent nationstate and physically annihilate its political and military leadership. Economic pain isn't going to get those elites to sign their own death warrants. Iran is sooner gonna bomb the oil and water infrastructure across the Gulf and turn Busher into Chernobyl 2.0 out of sheer spite than conceede to the cope blockade.

They're also gonna be a lot more capable of weathering economic pressure than the GOPs election chances are gonna weather gas prices north of $8/ga by November.
>>
>>65112701
Trump literally showed in vuvuzela that he's completely fine with keeping elites in charge as long as they step in line
If the IRGC stops getting paid...they'll quickly find a new way to get income that won't be helpful for those in power in Iran
>>
>>65112709
>Venezuela
NTA, but don't call the final score on that one until their next election. It's not an overnight project, don't expect overnight results.
>>
>>65111924
even the Iranians know the speed boats are a meme otherwise they would have used them already
>>
>>65111924
>iran's armed forces WILL retaliate
any day now
>>
>>65112869
they are using them, their efficacy against actual opponents instead of unarmed ships is another story
>>
>>65112855
>NTA, but don't call the final score on that one until their next election
No one cares about the elections. What they care about is how they behave.
>>
>>65112709
And then he showed the exact opposite in Iran, starting the war with a surprise mass assassination campaign (which ironically just resulted in the IRGCs anti-american hardliners ending up in power) and following it up with outright genocidal rethoric. How do you think Venezuela would've gone if he had tried to murder half their government including Maduro and left the most hardcore ideological Chavistas the ones left to take power?

>If the IRGC stops being paid
They'll just keep going, because that's what ideological fanatics do when they are in a war of survival against an enemy that has made it abundantly clear that he intends to kill them all wether they surrender or not. And those fanatics have all the means necessary to collapse the whole region and render the straits useless for a generation or two if pushed to the wall.

Your whole analogy here is completely retarded, this conflict and Venezuela couldn't be more fundamentally different
>>
>>65112988
You're assigning a godlike level of competence to the group whose main achievement in the last decade is driving Iran's economy into the ground by investing into proxies that Israel has spent the last three years turning into hamburger meat.

but the tunnels of speedboats anon, the tunnels!
>>
>>65113005
I wonder how many boats the entire country has
>>
>>65113005
The hulls of those boats aren't all that complicated to make, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had hundreds to thousands of them
>>
>>65113005
A fleet in being only works when you actually have the intention and potential to sortie it.
>>
>>65112709
>the Revolutionary Guard will turn against the revolution
Lol
>>
>>65112855
A lot of Maduro loyalists have been quietly removed from office. So its safe to say that Venezuela is in step with the wishes of the US (for now at least. Some psycho Pro-Maduro guy could fuck it all up and have the military attempt another coup)
>>
>>65113040
>t-they're revolutionaries! It's in the name! They don't do anything for money!
holy shit how naive can you people be
>>
>>65113033
Armed and crewed by what? Otherwise they're about as useful as a bathtub.
>>
>>65113040
Yes the IRGC is the only organization in the world that has figured out how to eliminate self-interest and human ambition.
>>
>>65112684
Still hoping for that spontaneous regime change that will make everything go away huh
>>
>>65113057
Muslims in general figured that one out many 100s of years ago
>>
>>65113062
>spontaneous
Do you even know what that word means?
>>
>>65113064
The Ottomans stopped mass castrating courtiers in the 1820s.

Money is just another way to push people toward a thing, a whip works just as well.
Also iran has been sanctioned for years, theyll be fine.
Hopefuly they find a way to slowly starve the yids
>>
>>65111924
>small agile vehicles
50 of them attacked a carrier group at the same time and every one of them was gunned down within an hour and didn't touch the carrier
>>
>>65111924
So far, Iran's speedboat fleets have failed to screen the rest of their navy worth a shit and are impotent against the blockade. They are another case of reformer retardation thinking cheap, spammable shit trumps professionalism.
