What pistol mag pouches do you guys prefer? I bought pic related but it doesn't feel the most secure, and one of my coworkers using it has had a mag pop out when tousling with someone. I was thinking of just getting a hardshell style one, but I want to know what you guys would recommend.
>>
>>65112925
I assume you're referring to the canted ones? I've never used something like that but it might be decent. I'm kind of bothered by how cheap they look though, even if they are durable. Plus the ranger green looks beige so it would clash pretty hard with the rest of my kit.

I use the straight up and down ones. There's not much to them so I guess your concern is valid, I don't really wear my belt much so they don't see a lot of use. It's pretty standard ranger green, here it is with several other things in rg.

New gun owner here, whats the recommended 9mm ammo for range shooting?
There's hundreds of brands and I'm sure a lot are expensive because they're hollow points and rated for real self defense scenarios
I honestly just want some ammo for paper targets that won't hurt my wallet or my gun.

I don't know, but I've seen people say Blazer. I shot a few boxes of Fiochi out of my tiny Kahr and it doesn't look too dirty. Just shoot whatever, but stay away from Minute Man/ remanufactured ammo. And out some boxes of what you're going to use for self defense ammo through it to make sure it cycles alright.

He means "plated", not coated, and it's perfectly fine for 9mm range use. Jacketed ammo can be indeed run at higher velocities, but plated ammo is substantially cheaper. Blazer 124 is very soft shooting stuff. It makes power factor for competition, but just barely.

Blazer Brass is good.
>>
>>65113303
>>65113279
It's typically not a problem outside of handloading, since I doubt the factory will over crimp them, and with a handgun odds are you're not driving them at fast speeds(both can cause the plating to fail)

But they absolutely do cause problems with compensators and portings.
>>65113319
Yeah, thanks for correcting me. Late and I shouldn't be up posting anyway
>>
>>65113321
This is true, plated ammo can definitely fuck with ports/comps, but is otherwise good to go for pistols IMO.

I would say Federal American Eagle, Fiocchi Training Dynamics, Blazer Brass, and Sellier and Bellot are all very recommendable. A lot of other guys here like Winchester, too, but I think that can get a bit hot for range use.
>>
>>65113327
While we're asking range ammo questions, aside from range rules and reloading, is there a reason to avoid aluminum case ammo?
>>
>>65113256
Magtech, blazer, s&b, winchester, pmc, etc. Avoid reloads/remanufactured rounds. Check if your range allows steel or aluminum casings.
>>
>>65113344
Yeah, brass has a lower coefficient of friction than aluminum, which means it extracts easier than aluminum, and it also has higher thermal conductivity, which means that it takes more heat out of the gun, and so the gun doesn't get quite as hot shooting brass. Most modern guns can run aluminum ammo without much in the way of hiccups, but certain guns, particularly those with stepped chambers such as Walthers and P10s and Gen 6 Glocks might not like it.

Aluminum ammo is, in my experience, a pretty noticeable step down in quality from brass. It's not hard on the extractor/ejector/breech face like steel case, though.
>>
>>65113349
Thanks!
>>

>>

outdoor range? just whatever non-remanufactured ammo thatll run cleanly you can get for cheap
indoor range youll almost certainly have a rule where youll need brass so blazer brass, pmc bronze, s&b fmj, fiocchi range dynamics, etc. in 115gr
if you do a lot of indoor shooting you might want to invest in using federal syntech though since thatll reduce your lead exposure
>>
>>65113368
Emphatically no, it doesn’t run in Glocks or any other gun I’ve tried it in, aluminum case is ass and not worth it.

Watch Ben Stoeger’s videos, Joel park too, it’s about grip pressure.

You have to pull the trigger fast to shoot fast, you have to learn how to do that without tweaking the gun.

Donate as much blood as you can as often as you can. Ideally stop going to the range. Assess your gun handling and cleaning practices. Run d-lead wipes over guns and gear after range trips. Shower in d-lead soap after range trips, make sure to get your face, eyebrows, mustache, hair. Clothes in the washer with you guessed it d-lead soap after range trips. Make sure you use d-lead soap before leaving the range to not get it everywhere in your car. D-lead your shoes, more important if you have young kids or pets. I am not sponsored by d-lead nor do I really do most of that because my lead levels are good.
>>
>>65114136

Is lead from shooting really that big of a deal?
I'd assume some measures should be taken regardless.
>>
>>65114136
nta but I do all that plus I wash my range bag with d-lead. I clean my guns with mossy oak clp but I don't know if that contains a chelating agent/properly removes lead so I'm considering buying the d-lead wipes so I can play with my guns at my desk without worrying about lead.
>>
>>65114228
Lead is only dangerous if you melt it...

Now I remember that time a boomer started to melt and cast bullets at the range....they almost banned him, can you imagine shooting while some old fuck gives you lead poisoning?
>>
>>65114228
Its people meming, I bet only a few people here have been to a doctor in the last 5 years.
>>
>>65114143
It basically is bloodletting. Leaded blood isn't really such a terrible thing in the grand scheme of things. They're giving blood transfusions to people who need blood or they will die. No idea how it works, if they test the blood or if they randomly select blood packs or try to go for the same donator. At the end of the day giving someone else light lead poisoning and a blood transfusion is still saving their life. This is the quickest "modern" way to reduce lead and microplastics in your blood. I think that there are some treatments where they can filter your blood but who knows how much that costs. This gets you money if you're in the US and can save lives. Especially if you have a blood type that's in demand/special.

>>65114235
Yeah the wipes are great, I use them to clean my guns too as they're very effective at removing buildup from parts and are effectively a soft patch with a light detergent.

>>65114254
Consider that guns get hot especially at the back of the bullets that aren't always coated which can melt some of the lead and basically spew it out of the gun everywhere.
>>
>>65114228
I shoot twice a month and my doctor never says anything about lead. All I do is use deleading wipes on my hands and face after shooting, nothin crazy. These lil packets make it a trivial diligence.
>>
>>65114228
Ben Stoeger shoots like 100k rounds a year and is fine. It’s a problem if you’re shooting suppressed rifles indoors all the time, shooting suppressed in general. That’s why flow through cans are being pushed so heavily since military and LEO were seeing significant lead levels in their high tier people
>>
>>65114282
>Ben Stoeger is fine
The man literally can’t stop sperging, anon.
>>
>>65114076
>its not like there are de-leading medications
there are. chelation therapy exists.
My basic understanding is that the drugs you take do a replacement reaction with metal compounds in your body, then you piss out the heavy metals like lead. Side effect is that you also piss out all the other metals you need to function like calcium and iron so you gotta take supps.
Lead oxide is also fat soluble so having high lead levels over time and then losing a ton of fat can spike your blood lead levels.

Most people would just need reduction/prevention of additional exposure like >>65114136 said

>>65114228
eh, I brought it up since its good to be aware of the low level long term hazard.
Flying long distance also hits you with extra ionizing radiation and increases your cancer risk.

Stoeger explains and demonstrates what these terms mean and how they affect your shooting. After understanding these concepts, they must be realised with repetition practice so that you are able to physically reconcile them with live fire. Stoeger recommends five minutes of dry fire per day https://youtu.be/6NGyHcb-eIk

The second half of the video is about target transition with barriers and footwork but there's less opportunity for that at conventional shooting ranges

Should I get a $200 pd trade in p320 to throw into a raider? I suddenly started kinda wanting a raider a few weeks ago and this seems like the cheapest route.
>>
>>65113344
No. I have run somewhere around 4,000 rounds of aluminum Blazer through multiple guns and it behaves just fine.

>>65115675
Black because Wesker's is the coolest

Also shooting indoors. Ben has discussed this topic and stated that he shoots almost exclusively outdoors and that all the guys he’s encountered with high lead levels do a lot of indoor shooting.

why not get a p365 xl?

Handled a made in Germany Sig P220 a shop today. Comes with 2 magazines and the original box for I believe $799. Looked like it was in good condition. Is that a decent price? I didn't think of asking what year it was manufactured but my guess is mid 90s.

Am I a retard for wanting to carry my full size p226 IWB in strong arm side (3-4 o clock)?
I dont have any other gun

also what holster brands do you recommend for this retarded idea?
>>
>>65115815
If you can swing it, more power to you. I thought I was going to do that when I got my first pistol. It was way too big.
>>
>>65115718
If a Sig P320 goes off without the trigger being pulled.

And if a machine gun is a firearm that fires (x) more times than the trigger is pulled (y) then if x > y then a firearm is a machine gun.

And if 0 trigger pulls but 1 round means 1 > 0 means x is indeed > y.

Then according to the ATF, is a Sig Sauer
P320 a machine gun?
>>
>>65115823
Why do you care what the ATF thinks?

Nta but did someone just turn up the brightness on my monitor?

It's probably nothing, that's just an EMS helicopter for a car wreck.

Probably just moonlit swamp gas reflecting off a weather balloon

I designed and 3d printed a locking glockazine holster.
I'd like to bring the design to market but I'm an autistic retard with no capital.

Totally

People who tape their grips aren't serious about carry because that shit turns nasty quickly if you actually use/carry it.
>>
>>65115810
Its meh to good depending on the condition. The thing is 220s arent popular guns. Theres nothing wrong with them except that is a singlestack 45. You know what else is a single stack 45? A 1911 and literally everyone american will pick a 1911 over a 220. 226 228 229 people love those. But the 220 is there. You can find em cheaper but not with all that stuff.

>a machine gun is a firearm that fires (x) more times than the trigger is pulled (y)
No, the federation definition stipulates "more than one shot" so your question about a single round without "a function of the trigger" at all is a total non sequitur

How's. 32 for EDC? I want a Cheetah.
>>
>>65115796
Does he have any more to say exchange?
I can suck a golf ball through a garden hose btw
>>

>How's. 32 for EDC
This is a very complicated question that may reveal tensions between modern findings in terminal ballistics and historical ones, as well as the broscience of today, and observations of gun writers of days long past. It's very complicated.
>I want a Cheetah.
Get a Cheetah.

This but with .45 and/or 10mm
>>
>>65116700
The modern model for incapacitation of threat due to pistol wounds pretty much only considers penetration. A 32 ACP bullet is enough to achieve penetration sufficient to lead to blood pressure loss, so (suspend disbelief) in theory it's Just as Good™ as 9mm. The whole RII thing will show it's mediocre, but making holes? 32 ACP makes holes.

I use the esstac ones

Hey, I am a noguns loser right now, but I have loved guns and weapons since I was a kid. I wont lie, RE games made me fall in love with handguns and the berretta specifically. I've shot a lot of rental guns at gun ranges, but I've never shot my "dream" gun. I'm finally financially stable enough to buy a gun without having to "save up" but I'm starting to get cold feet like I'll be let down. Give it to me straight, how fun is it to shoot your berretta? Would I probably enjoy it if all I do it take it to the gun range a few times a month to blow off steam?
>>
>>65116708
>there are people ITT who doesn't do 5x10 holster pulls/presentation drills for every handgun in his carry cycle
Literally takes 10 minutes per gun
>>
>>65116724
Are you not able to rent any berettas
>>
>>65116724
get the first gen XD (it's literally the blacktail)
>>
>>65116730
none of the ranges near me have a berretta. its just glocks, .22s, and occasionally a deagle or a revolver for handguns.

>>65116737
my man, how did you know my second favorite RE gun was the Blacktail? I'll look into that.
>>
>>65116730
He won't be able to rent any Berettas
