I want a mauser so fucking bad bros. I only got a couple hundred. Are there cheaper knockoffs?
>>65114921You can buy a used Glock for ~$200-$300 and rob a guy with a broom handle.
>>65114921>no repro companySuch a travesty, these and lugers would easily sell for $1k and they would only have to make a couple hundred a year, even more if they kept an online store instead of being a boomer and shipping them to stores
>>65114934People always say this, but they rarely put their money where their mouth is. Repros of milsurp sell like dogshit because a part of the appeal of milsurp is the provenance of the firearm.
>>65115019How can we put our money where our mouth is when theres no product?
>>65114934At least the Turks are trying to bring in Luger repros. We'll see if they actually do.
>>65115047there are repro lugers and its failing because poorfags are poor
>>65114921You have a couple hundred mausers?
>>65114934>lugersa lot of people tried and failedmost of the demand comes from collectors who dgas about repros and don't even fire their gunspeople who actually want to shoot them don't want to pay more for a repro than an old busted one costs>>65114921you're fuckedbut you're not missing out on much. It's a novelty gun - fun (and expensive if you don't have a 9) to shoot, but not in any way something you'd want to bring to the range for anything other than attention
>>65115052>>65115050Ive never seen one of these, where can i nab one up or are they not being imported yet>no .30 lugerIll have to cope with a 9mm
>>65115057Just went to their contact us page and the address is some dudes house in newark ohio, is this some singular guy importing them or whats the deal?
>>65114921they are pretty fun gotta be careful though there's no replacing the barrels on them so once its shot out your only option is reboring it to 9mm or having a smooth bore
>>65114934What you're forgetting is that Mausers and Lugers are incredibly complicated. Go look up an exploded diagram of one and compare it to something like a Glock, they are much more complex with a lot more parts that require careful machining. >have to make a couple hundred a year,Like Lugerman? Those start at around $5k.
Every time someone thinks a repro C96 would be cheaper than a real one, an angel gets its wings.
>>65114934>>65115019Repros are fine for guns that are completely unobtanium. But I think more of the allure of things like the C96 and P08 is the history behind the specific gun. I'm not paying a grand for a repro Luger, but I finally said fuck it and picked up a 1910 Luger for just shy of 2k.
>>65114921Don't know about you bros but I picked mine up from this guy for only 14,000 pesetas, thats like 100 bucks, great deal
>>65115050Are these actually toggle lock or are they faking it like the .22 lugers?
Save your pennies, OP. Your dream is within reach. It’s honestly pretty entry-level in terms of collector’s guns.
>>65115185>Are these actually toggle lockLolno, they're blowback and have a bent sheetmetal thing on top that lets you cock it sort of like the original but it's not actually a toggle lock.
>>65115232This. The rare variants and really nice commercial ones are expensive, but shooter grade C96's are very accessible, a lot more so than many kinds of collector guns.
If you can find one there's the Erma KGP-68, which was made in .32 and .380. The are toggle locks, but they're also made of pot metal Zamak and IIRC the .380s are only mostly kinda safe to not grenade on you.
Want something else less expensive, or better yet, want nothing at all. Even if you had it you wouldn't be happy.
>>65115052>charges the same for an authentic LugerEven if buyers had the money why would they choose a repro over an actual Luger? Whether it be German, Finnish, etc?
>>65115254IIRC the "big ERMA" lugers were also blowback. They just replicated the toggle joint a bit better than the .22 LR versions.
Op hereIs it possible to make a new mauser out of mass produced parts rather than hand crafted. I don't care about he antiqueity or anything I just like the way the weapon looks
>>65115467No
>>65115467are you saying that you could cobble on together using modern parts rather than surplus? realistically no. C96 parts are fairly unique, there isnt really a modern analogue of parts that are sort of the same. You would have better luck 3d printing a C96 shell put around a glock or something.
>>65115467You're just a retard shut the fuck up if it's so easy to make them just do it yourself
>>65115019i always see this parroted, yet all the exampled used were a mix of:>extremely fucking expensive (to totally unacceptable degree)>company did absolutely no advertising whatsoever and disappeared>product was made with about as much quality as a 1 cent condom>company was horrifically mismanaged and either folded like a paper crane or get raped by the feds for embezzlement>gun is vaporwear that had been talked about since the 80's through to the 2010's but still doesn't even have a website upif obscure racegun companies can stay afloat, i don't see why this shit can't either
>>65115509Obscure racegun isnt competing with a million surplus version of itself. Weird racegun can charge what it wants without some faggot saying well i can buy a beat to shit one for 1500. They could totally meet a 1000 pricepoint. Then youve got other broker faggots thinking 1000 is too much id buy it at 500 and so on. Meanwhile the guns were only cheap post war surplus cause a govt paid for it. And your expecting a small startup gun company to =a national gun factory in production.
>>65115467sarco has some rust mangled frames that some gunsmith took it upon themselves to replace the grip loops and fill the pitting on, but sourcing the parts to fully rebuild one would likely cost as much if not more than buying one whole
Save your pennies and watch the local gun boards. As other anons have posted these are kind of entry level collectors pieces so you can frequently find boomers selling them. Mine was $1500 because it was bashed together from two different serials and the blueing was all removed. I might fix that part one of these days. Runs great though. Also if you’re worried about money ignore the Red 9’s. Most of them are counterfeit anyways and you can find a 7,63 Mauser one + 100 rds of Prvi Partizan for way cheaper.
>>65115509You don't see why, but you do see the end results.
>>65115687
Are Shansei Arsenal from 80s just as good as masuer?
>>65114921Astra made some clones that are slightly cheaper, but modern repros would simply be cost prohibitive. As expensive as originals are, because the gun is so complicated a modern repro would cost almost as much. The cost of labor to hand fit the jigsaw puzzle internals would require doing it in some country with low labor costs but then they probably wouldn't have the ability or give enough fucks to do it right.>>65115050Hold the phone, a 7.62x25mm CZ-75? I want that!A Luger is much simpler than a C96 and could be done, but the tolerances and fitment still need to be top notch for it to work. It has been done in a few post-WW2 runs so it can be done today.>>65115056There is a market for people who just want a shooter tier Luger, but they aren't going to pay more than about $600-800 for one. That means it has to be manufactured on about a $400 per unit budget which is tricky if you want a gun that works well by modern standards.>>65115185IF they are 9mm they'd need a toggle lock in order to work. Otherwise they'd have to incorporate some sort of delayed blowback mechanism and would look significantly different. The .22 can be blowback because it's a .22, it's a smaller cartridge and there is much less pressure to contain.
>>65115587>isnt competing with a million surplus version of itselfThis is a fact that I think a lot of people miss. Guns like the C96, and a lesser degree the P08, were made in huge quantities which means a lot of them are still around today. That's why shooter grade examples are still very much on the low end of collector gun prices. And that's also why it's so difficult to get new ones made. They're complicated enough to be expensive to produce, and at the same time there are a lot of originals out there. It's hard to sell repros when you have to charge more than the cost of originals.
>>65114921I bought a shot to shit C96 at auction earlier this year for $650. Its absolutely worth it bro
