>Chop a Rheinmetall 120mm gun.>Put it on wheelsDO IT NOW, MAKE INFANTRY SUPPORT WEAPONS COOL AGAIN
too big
>>65116970NO IT'S THE PERFECT SIZE
>>65116940God I love infantry guns.
>>65117009too big
>>65117079Too small
>>65117103Size does matter, after all
>>65116940it was 75mm, frenalso still too unwieldy and heavy to quite fulfil its proper purpose as direct fire support against enemy hardpoints, hence the drive by Guderian to put them on tracked vehicles to keep up with the assault. Now ofc the StuGIII was a success but the vehicle got hijacked into an AT/replacement tank role by those bastards in the Panzerwaffe but thats a whole different story
>>65117657Did they ever make anything the equivalent of an M8 Stuart?
>>65117689>fast>armor to stop mostly rude suggestions>chode gun>mostly used to just voyeur Kinda?
>>65117698Stummel also
>>65116940Holy shit they're barefoot. Why??
>>65118249Too fucking hot and being German, anyone taking initiative to sandal-ify their leather boots would be punished, presumably worse than merely being out of uniform regs.
>>65117698>>65117689The PzIII N and Panzer IV B + C are the closest equiv to the M8 Scott because they used a 75mm short KwK37 gun. It used HEAT rounds and HE rounds. and was designed for such support. But iirc the Panzer IV got changed into 'AT role' because it could fit larger guns in the turret ring and the Panzer III which was originally meant for AT role got turned into infantry support (through conversions) because it was rather useless for headlong attacks.
>>65116940put it on bigger wheels>>65117689m18 with 105mm gun
>>65116940We already have big-gun infantry support weapons. They're called TANKS.
If the turret could withstand the recoil of the high-velocity 7.5cm KwK 40, couldn't it have been mounted with a 10.5cm or 15cm infantry gun?
>>65118648Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B, 15 cm sIG 33 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II (Sf), 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B, 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) and 15 cm Schweres Infanteriegeschütz 33/2 (Sf) auf Jagdpanzer 38 exist. Not turret ringed, obviously.
>>65117015It's adorable and I want one for neighborly negotiations.
>>65116970>>65117015>>65117079Although a mix of weapons made that obsolete I just love that thing.
>>65116940UGVs offer many possibilities for this kind of thing.
>>65118850>>65116970I want to get one for shooting flares and fireworks out of.Change the firing mechanism out for dial knobs and a latch though. May as well have fun with it.
I LOVE the leig18
>>65119270Don't we all
>>65116940>buy 3-wheeled electric scooter>weld braces onto a superstructure>mount 120mm cannon>backseat bitch is also drone spotterMy dream.
>>65118249Russia gets super hot and humid in summer
>>65118249If you look up pictures of the Eastern Front, there's tons of pictures of Germans straight up just wearing shorts or boxers. You'd see artillery guys and other troops behind the immediate front line. Many parts of Russia have weather that mirrors the upper US Midwest: really fucking hot and humid during late spring into early fall, and really fucking cold any other time, pretty much
>>65117015I knew Firelock 198X had a lot of weapons taken from IRL and mixed but this is my first time seeing this one. Neat.
>>65119492>my first time seeing this one. That's clearly based on the German PaK-36, which was found to be insufficient in power to deal with late-war heavy tanks, so the Germans modified them to fire massive shaped-charge grenades instead. This drastically reduced the range and accuracy of the guns, but these grenades were more than powerful enough to knock out any heavy tank in WWII.Since the grenades relied on explosives to bust through armor, not penetration by velocity, armor penetration capacity was not affected at extended ranges, although the rather poor accuracy limited the effective range of the weapon.
>>65116940Have loved this little gun since i used a pair in a Combat Misson scenario to stop an American armored column for a few crucial minutes.
>>65119524Ah, sorry, I more just meant the principle of a really small field gun without a wheeled carriage. It's not something I've looked much into, but I think it's very fascinating. Thank you very much, still.
>>65119634They have automatic grenade launchers now that they can also use as pseudo mortars.Nothing comes close to the leig though
>>65117689Only for the 15cm sIG 33. The 75mm infantry gun was light enough as was, so they never bothered on motorizing it directly like that.>15 cm sIG 33 auf Panzerkampfwagen I ohne Aufbau Ausf.B Sd.Kfz.101>15 cm sIG 33 auf Panzerkampfwagen II>15 cm sIG 33/2 (Sf.) auf Jagdpanzer 38(t)>Geschützwagen 38 für sIG 33/1 ‘Grille’ (Sd.Kfz.138/1)>15 cm sIG 33 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.H (Sf.)Are analogues to the M8, in that they follow the design principle of trying to enhance the mobility of an infantry gun.
