>what if we create a tech product that functions worse and is significantly more expensive than an existing nontech version of the product>and then lets market this product to the exact group of people who think the government is using 5g to spy on them via their microwaves and who believe the metal gear solid series was a documentaryI still don't understand why venture capitalists keep funding this shit, "smart guns" or electronically locked guns. it's a tech product with no market and literally EVERY company that has ever announced doing R&D on a smart gun went bankrupt with the exception of smith and wesson which some guy bought, pushed the smart gun shit and then sold for less than 10% of the price he bought the company for. he wiped out like 90% of the market cap, and Mossberg which somehow surivived unscathed. idk how the tech would even work because it would need to actively receive power to fire, so like an electromagnet pulling a locking piece that's blocking the trigger or firing pin because otherwise you could just defeat it by not powering it
>>65121092>I still don't understand why venture capitalists keep funding this shitif I were to guess: if it works, then grabbers in the government will immediately push to make it mandatory, meaning huge sales
>>65121092I can't prove it but it's probably jews
>>65121156>>65121092>I still don't understand why venture capitalists keep funding this shitThe trick is that they functionally have infinite money, and the money isn't even theirs either.
>>65121092Tech people are fucking insane and genuinely believe that they're going to save the world by shoving blockchains and LLMs into everything. And that's to say nothing of the dipshits who heard that the Pentagon was looking into AI integration and immedeately started trying to sell it on vibe-coded Skynet.
>AAAHHHH SCARY TECHNOLOGY!non-gun people are scared of guns going off so this appeals to them. stop being a battered wife.
>>65121191nongun people aren't going to buy a gun, no gunz. and NJ had these mandated for a decade
>>65121156Some states have a law where once a model of gun can only be fired by a designated person, that's the only gun anyone is allowed to have. I know NJ for sure but im sure there are others.
>>65121092>why do VC keep funding thisBecause as soon as it's off the ground they have an off switch for the guns of everyone that isn't hired to protect them and they know that it will get rammed through to be the only option available for purchase where they live.>but the rest of the country will still have real gunsMan I love living in rural appalachia as much as the next guy but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I matter at all in federal policy or decision making by billionaires.
>>65121304NJ got rid of that law but there's 100% chance they will bring it back. California is using the microstamp law as a defacto handgun ban and I think NJ, NY and possibly a few other states have "triggering" microstamp laws where if a microstamp gun is made microstamping will be mandated on all handguns. The old NJ law you were referring to was a "triggering law". the new one just says stores will have to carry one example of a smart gun and put a poster up telling people to buy it but it's not mandated. but again, I'm sure they just pass a law and mandate them
