Been unemployed for a while but I've been building things my whole life, like PCs. I used to refurbish laptops and I repaired a washing machine by relocating a sensor, and changed out the board on a gas furnace within the past year. How do I get a job as a line worker building missiles? Apparently America is running low, so do they need more workers? I'm a patriotic citizen of the USA and live near Picatinny Arsenal, but I do have a misdemeanor on my record for, get this, possession of a prohibited offensive weapon. Am I screwed? I really think I can help and no I'm not trying to steal offensive or defensive weapons. Anybody know anything about how to get a job at a defense contractor as a blue collar worker just putting things together? I'd be grateful to work for the new $20/hr minimum wage. Thanks

>>65124791Bro have you never applied for a job before?
>>65124842>>65124856This is the real reason the economy is dogshit. Public school used to prepare people for the workforce where neglectful parents failed. Now not only are you actively sabotaged by public school all the way to adulthood but your parents were also sabotaged into being neglectful. Society is becoming dumber. Something as simple as going up to someone and asking to help out is alien to the average millennial and gen z brain. They need 'programs' to railroad them.
>>65124791You gotta be a pretty good machinist or quality control inspector Problem is you’re not a machinist and you want the job all the other kick ass machinists in the country would kill forUnionized, ITAR job with low turnover
>>65125014>Something as simple as going up to someone and asking to help out is alien to the average millennial and gen z brain. You're so right, boomer.>walk up to corporate office>ask to meet with a hiring manager>turned away because you aren't planned in>go to small family business>ask for job>told to fuck off because it's a family business>go to local chain store>ask manager for job interview>uuuhhhhh yeah go through our website>go through website>nothing but crickets>go to factory >ask to meet with manager or boss or whoever manages hiring>they're busy>told to apply via site>>get fucked>try to get in contact with tech company>get run around in circles until you're referred to an outsourced recruiter on linkedin>entry level requirements: 5 years of professional experience, c#, c++, python, ruby, azure, esoteric scripturals, smoke signals, scratch>somehow meet requirements>get filtered out by automatic ai>prompt inject to bypass >ignored because it was a ghost job all alongWish i could sell my ass at least but they took it as repayment for my student loans.
>>65125198There have to be other jobs besides machinist. Don't they need someone to just screw the parts the machinist made together? Or insert the guidance systems n shit? Like putting together a kit? You need a million years experience and a top tier education to just screw shit together? That wasn't the case back in WWII>>65124856>>65125014Yeah I'm 40And I was a commercial appraiser 8 years ago. You're the reason this country is going to shit, because instead of letting the thread die because you don't know the answer, you want to discourage people like me with skills but nothing to do with absolute garbage input that attacks the person trying to better themselves like a crab in a bucket >>65124842What company fuckface?
>>65125294oh you're just baiting. I'm not sure anyone could legitimately be retarded enough to be on /k/ and not know the usual government contractors.
>>65124791>How do I get a job as a line worker building missiles? Can you pass a background check and a drug test? If so, you are ahead of 90% of people under 25. They are mostly degenerates and drug addicts. Oh, you can be a degenerate and still get a clearance.
>>65125294>What company fuckfaceNta, but you have no idea how much pure profit I'm raking in doing wiring. But with your shitting 40-something attitude, I'm not telling you shit.>literally so fucking much!
>>65124791Lol the picture is not AI it is real. Every Tomahawk is hand crafted in a kind of corporate cottage industry. Thats totally absurd.

>I'm in serious need of a new job>Better make a thread on 4chan>Mobile.jpgWhen C19 made it hard to keep stores staffed and people who couldn't figure out online applications came in we eventually started walking them through the process on their phones, we even had QR codes that went to our hiring portal. Most of those people were unemployable and the ones that made it through the hiring process were universally a nightmare to train and work with.
>>65125455>muh college degree as a proxy for IQ>muh shitty unnavigable website as a proxy for IQImagine how much of everyone's time could be saved just by allowing employers to use IQ as a qualification. Of course, employers are all retarded so they'd probably require 150+ for janitor positions.
>>65124791I would assume they don't need more workers because to build stockpile is to either shoot less of them and wait the contracted company manufacturing to outproduce the spending pace, or to contract more companies to start new manufacturing lines/factories... however long the new pace lasts. Now here's the thing about outproducing your demand in this specific line of fabricating: you shouldn't. Because the same people who are your primary customer most likely prohibit you from obtaining new customers and new orders are scarce. And they wouldn't want to do it anyway because they want the company to have experience in missile building. Yes, it matters if 10% of the missiles won't hit their targets or won't blow up upon doing so.What I am saying is that getting this very specific job isn't probably going to happen. And since we're talking about smart missiles, you probably can't get the job with that experience. What you would need is degrees and experience. Most likely in electronical engineering, assuming you would want to connect the electronics together. But the required degree would depend on which part exactly of the missile you'd be working on.As for your criminal record, it doesn't help your case. Being a criminal, of any kind, a criminal in general whatever may be the reason for it, prohibits you from working with stuff like this. Even when it comes to shitty low-end work like stuffing electronics into a tube. Reason being that criminals tend to do criminal things, including but not limited to spying, sabotaging and stealing in general. Once you start your criminal career you have passed a moral barrier which makes it more likely that you'll break the law again. While your crime doesn't imply that, it certainly doesn't help your case because they don't really care about the details. If you want to work for the military as a contractor, I would just choose a field and keep climbing that ladder.
>>65125509>muh college degree as a proxy for IQ>muh shitty unnavigable website as a proxy for IQThose are real world applications of your problem solving abilities which is why they hold value. IQ's dandy but most people who think they have a high IQ took one of those useless internet tests.
>>65125582A college degree is a real world application of your skin color.
>>65125294>What company fuckface?youre not "employable" in any 'proffessional sense' if that was actually some kind of 'show-stopping' question for you, or somehow the reason you are not already currently employed pallet-jacking pieces of metal around in one of those factories right now.the fact you are not currently working at one, guarantees absolutely...you never will
>>65125589Per capita, whites and Asians have college degrees at significantly higher rates than blacks and Hispanics. The only point you could make is about Indians with strip mall degrees bolstering the Asian demographic but that begs the question of why you apparently have no higher education.
>>65125509no need for an IQ test, even. Just check their netflix history to see whether they've watched Rick and Morty
>>65125294>What company fuckface?Yes totally want to shake your hand and work with you if this is your attitude. Stop asking to be spoonfed and look up what contractors are actively winning weapons contracts, you dumb witless nigger.
>>65124791As someone who works in the defense industry I feel like I can answer this. First off see pic related of who to apply for. I work as an electrical tech and I make wiring harnesses and other devices. For my specific job it's good to have experience with soldering and terminating wires and reading engineering drawings and makes sure you put that in your resume. But that's just for for the electrical side of things. For the bodies and structures of the missiles get training in composites, CNC, metal working, etc and look for jobs that match that description. Also just because you get the job it doesn't mean you'll be working with missiles. Where I work we do produce the electrical parts of the missiles but I have not worked on that program, I've always been in other programs but the skills needed are the same.>I do have a misdemeanor on my record for, get this, possession of a prohibited offensive weapon. Am I screwed?Probably but apply anyways.
OP, search for jobs like "Assembler". Also, Boeing and others have technical apprenticeship programs that will teach you how to do things like work with composite materials.Your criminal past probably won't be a big deal if you are up front with it and not a total piece of shit. A lot of this work isn't cleared, and even then a SECRET clearance just takes honesty, an interview, and no recent criminal history or shitty finances. The biggest thing is to be honest about stuff that is on paper (arrests, convictions, etc.), because they absolutely will find that shit.

>>65125919Point is that a NACLC or similar isn't a BI which isn't a full SSBI. That's the roto-rooter go-around-and-interview-the-neighbors investigation some are familiar with. That only happens with TS. S is just a set of checks to see if the SF-86 was filled out accurately and you don't have shit finances, and it's all done sitting at a computer (vs. going door to door). With S the only person that's interviewed is the subject, with TS/SSBI they're interviewing lots of people and independently deriving sources from the people you put on the SF-86. It's a world apart from what most people need to work in a missile plant and both less expensive and far less time consuming to get.

Two-three year period from application to hiring, multiple rounds of "drop everything for a group interview", background checks and repeat drug tests, all for $28/hr and two weeks paid to start. It was about the same when I was in CO, one of the guys I worked with applied to Lockmart, only he had to deal with security clearance shit too.

>>65125215I'm actually a zoomer. You have to be more creative with how you talk to those people. It has to be from the perspective that you can contribute something positive. You have to ask questions rather than simply accepting their honest man's lock and walking away. Ask if they do work placements. Ask if they do internships. Ask what they think about hobbyists. Your comment makes it sound like you give up at the first sign of resistance. That resistance is there to screen out unambitious losers. Every system is malleable if you press hard enough. >>65125294retard

>>65125919Maybe on the civilian side. In combat arms there isn't even an interview until you get to TS/SCI. Even that is pretty chill, the FBI guy doing the polygraph asked if I was aware I had active warrants in California and Mississippi (I was not aware) and he just kind of shrugged and cleared me
