I think it was a browning hi power, might have been a springfield trapdoor. It's been a while since I've bought anything, been spending money on motorcycles instead of guns.

What a silly handgun, I'm shocked I've never heard of it until now.

I didn't even remember the last gun I bought. It was a Remington Model 12, and when I found it in the safe I called around asking my friends if they left their hunting shotgun here. Sounds like something I'd buy, and vaguely remember getting.
>>
>>65129354
I got it because it looked like the FAMAS, which I'd love to have (I bought the 20" version with the ribbed barrel). The AUG is also on my list, but I preferred to be able to use standard AR mags without any compromises.

It being so weird is why I bought it. It's a double stack mag and the frame is aluminum but with steel inserts fore and aft to form the slide rails and the camming path for the barrel to unlock. I wonder had they hand just gone full steel frame if the grip could have been slimmed down a bit while still being double stack and maybe the result wouldn't be a backstrap an inch wide. However that fat ass gives a lot of contact to your palm under recoil so it's not unpleasant to shoot. Takedown is finicky and the slide serrations too short and dispersed for the weight of the mainspring.

Sig USA in the 2000s is such an oddball company, I was tempted to buy one of their Sig 550 clones that was a SWAT surplus since actual 550s are like 5-6 times more in cost.

>How's the trigger feel?
I don't have many DAs for comparison, but it feels lighter and smoother than this P220.

>>65129681
As far as I can tell this was made at SIG in Eckernforde; it was proofed at Kiel in 2001.

>>65129735
>how big is this gun?
This does not convey the chonk tho; it is Steyr M9-thicc. It would be easier to conceal the 220.

I've been waiting for 3 weeks now for the G36.
>>
>>65129774
1911s were made for .38 super, .45ACP, 10mm, and .22lr. Anything else is an abomination.
Also, 9mm is a victim caliber. This is an indisputable fact.
>>
>>65128943
I bought a S&W 36, the new one. Someone must have needed cash so I got it used.
I also got a 16 gauge ranger with a variable choke, it's basically just an auto 5, I think this one was made by Remington.

a Mauser 71/84 barreled action off apex, i'm still piecing the fucker together. my dad doesn't have the time to program his CNC lathe to machine the threaded end piece for the mag tube, and for some reason the repro stock that was apparently an extra from "The Last Samurai" doesn't fit with the middle barrel band, so something is fucked here. don't even get me started on trying to modify .45-90 brass into .43 mauser, at least i've got the proper .340gr bullet mod sitting on my desk.

I've got a kahr cw380 I really like.
I always wished they'd make a steel frame 380 too, but alas.
Someday I'll probably grab one of their steel frame 9mm guys too, but there are other projects I need to get through before I do that.

I've been on a 3d printing kick lately, so I bought an inox 92fs kit and printed a frame.
Got super, SUPER lucky and managed to get the kit during an EGP 25% off sal, picrelated.
Haven't had the time to try it yet to see if the printed frame holds together.

Only an inch? I dunno if mine would be that thin even with the grips off lol

Also thank you, your description of the trigger was so at odds with my memory of it being one of the all time horrific triggers I rushed off to fiddle with mine and it's really not as bad as I remembered. So thank you for the perspective check :)
>>
>>65130748
Really, just a screwdriver and small file to trim the plastic frame a little.
It's a super straightforward assembly, honestly like playing with Legos.
I printed a frame out of the strongest PLA+ pro I've found to date, on an Ender 3 that cost like $150 years ago.

I've heard of people getting upwards of 2000 rounds fired through one of these frames without breakage, but I'm still somewhat apprehensive.
I suppose we'll see!

Probably forgot one after this but my handgun luck is ass.
>buy surplus 380 cheetah
>aw hell yeah finally I have more than one decent carry handgun
>play with it
>safety a shit and pulling the trigger on safe still can barely interact with the sear, but only sometimes, due to weird play which also depends on orientation and vibration/jostling parts out of place
>turn off safety and 50/50 it drops to half cock
>wanted to carry cocked
I swear my used handgun luck is worse than my used rifle luck by 3-5x. This is why I fucking hate sight unseen/surplus handgun batches. Now my "affordable" Cheetah needs a new safety kit and I have to hope it will fix my gun.
>>
>>65130759
>That safety
This gun is so fucking weird, god dammit I want one now.
>>
>>65130777
I really enjoy mine but needing a hex key (which is included) too take off the stock is a little lame and the 10 round single stack mags suck ass to load. On the upside, it is the cleanest 5.56 gun I’ve ever seen and rarely needs to be cleaned to begin with.

Sears Ranger 102.35, in fact a Savage model 29B. I got is mostly because the whole trigger frame and receiver had turned plumb and I love how guns look when that happens, plus it was cheap and I didn't have a .22 rifle.
