Has the Ukrainian War decisively proven that volunteer armies are superior to conscript armies?
>>65131618Did anyone ever think otherwise
>>65131618I dunno, it seems like a conscript army works pretty good when you're on the defense.
>>65131630It’s not working well for Russia and they’re on the defensive.
>>65131618Listen man, just post the giantess smut and stop trying to act like you want to discuss the merits of conscript vs volunteer
>>65131632I don't think they get the defense buffs unless they are the ones being invaded.
>>65131630I mean, if you need to occupy a large amount of ground fast, conscripts still can't be beat, but for offense you're better served sticking those people into labor roles since they're not worth shit in a push.
>>65131639Don't they have mandatory military service?
Both sides are a conscription army with the Russians being more of a "volunteer" army.>>65131639Retard the ukies are a conscription army in its purest form.
>volunteer is a relevant category in this conflictGreat thread for showcasing how delusional the posters on this board are
>>65131687Voluntard army
>>65131681Anon, having the conscript recite his intention to volunteer while pointing a gun at him isn't actually volunteering
>>65131630Well no shit. It's easy to convince conscripts to get in line when their defending their homes, but they suck for offensive operations.
Its two volunteer armies fighting.
>>65131633I'm just here too and I'm highly disappointed that it's just turned into yet another slav slapfight thread
>>65131697lmao
>>65131655Nice false flagging
>>65131716He's a false flagging zigger and you're a samefag
>>65131720Vatnigger
>>65131739We’ve told you before Ivan, just because you put a yellow and blue border on the edges that doesn’t mean we don’t recognize Russians in the videos when we see them.
>>65131639They've lost territory though so I don't see how they're winning?
>>65131618Which one is the conscript army?
>>65131753Russia. >>65131748
>>65131756Funny, Why is it every time I enter a drone thread they say the Russians signed up for it then? How convenient. Which one is it then?
>The Russian volunteers keep getting recorded killing themselvesWhy would they volunteer just to do that?
>>65131618How stupid. Is that why everybody fought WW2 with conscripts? Because a volunteer military was superior? Is that why every country with a volunteer military has a inactivated draft waiting in the wings ready to pick up the slack for a real war? A volunteer military is good right up to the point they run out of manpower.
>>65131618Not really. Having a large reserve is always better than running a higher risk of manpower issues. Finland does this the best by training everyone and after that there is an option to continue if you want to. This creates a huge reserve along with units of highly motivated soldiers.
You are asking the wrong question.
>>65131757>beating up and kidnapping tens of thousands of ukrainian men all over the country. If this was happening you’d be able to find Ukrainian men who would tell you it’s happening, and yet curious not a single Ukrainian has stepped forward to say they were conscripted
>>65131697What the fuck are you talking about retard
>>65131795You fucking retarded Amerimutts do not understand what conscription means.
>>65131817>>65131808>aside from thousands upon thousands of pow's who said that they were press ganged into service off the street. Can we see it? Cause the only examples I can find of people being press-ganged are all Russian.
>ziggers pretending to be delusional ukie supporters>ziggers reposting v& webms >ziggers samefagging What blew up in Russia?
>>65131837I've honestly never witnessed this phenomenon. The propaganda machine is constantly running whether one or three refineries have exploded.
>>65131618>volunteer armies
>>65131912Indeed the salaryman propagandists post every day the same way.On the other hand the ideologically corrupted posters serving the enemy for free post a lot more when agitated.
>>65131837Just today? Bunch of stuff.
>>65131618I thought the bottom right design was hebrew and I started thinking about giant 7 foot tall idf milkers
>>65131618We've known that since at least the Falklands War.
>>65131917Just because Russia is volunteer on paper that doesn’t mean it’s volunteer in reality anon.
>>65131618Volunteer wants to fight the enemy voluntold wants to survive.
>>65131618No, it has proven that having a larger population with a high degree of "it can't be helped" nihilism can be useful in prolonging stupid wars
Professional armies proved their superiority over conscript armies centuries ago…. This is a retarded question.
>>65131618>>65131633Is it a giantess or a normal chick and two fairy people?
>>65132520looks like a normal sized building they're standing on
>>65131618Only volunteer armies are ones where civilians can own guns.
>>65132524It could be one of those live-training areas, but done on wargaming terrain.(I will not pretend this isn't a massive asspull to keep the conversation going, though).
>>65131618I mean they always have been. Conscripts have NEVER fought well in any military.Men need real incentive to do well in life, not platitudes or tally marks.
>>65132542Ukraine has a volunteer military
>>65132520Hmm, a good question. I'd say go with whatever seems hotter, which for me would be normal girl and 2 fairies
>>65131633I would post one, but the file is too large
>>65132695You can do better than recycling your material, rajesh.
>>65131618What is the tactical advantage of a giantess using her uterus as an armored personnel carrier?
>>65132678>which for me would be normal girl and 2 fairiesWhy is that?
>>65132708But enough with projections, ramjesh.
>pussia is winning
>>65132736You're not worth the effort, lmao. It's not even swines and pearls scenario.
>>65132744sour grapes
>>65132702Clitfucking, though that could still be accomplished with a giantess and a normal woman most of that porn is normal/fairy>but those are dudesAre you 100% sure on that?
>muh bombed-out clayGet in the fucking anti-drone cope cage, vanya.
Both Ukraine and Russia use conscripts and volunteers, so how exactly does the war prove all-volunteer armies superior?
Ziggers are pretty livid lately. puccia's been getting one bloody nose after another recently.
It's been pretty funny watching /k/ become an eternal battleground between retarded circle jerks after 2022 kicked off.
>>65132801it also ruined the board unfortunately
>>65132797Ukraine has used conscripts since before the invasion even began, same with Russia.
>>65132823You haven't met enough Ukies then
>>65132828Uh, you need only search the term and find multiple articles from Ukrainian sources using the term to refer to Ukraine's conscription drive, not Russia's. This is just yet another example of the echo chambers which are so prevalent on this board.
>smug falseflagger tries to pretend to be a "dumb brainwashed hohol" and then deboonk his retarded lies
>>65132822That’s true for any army fighting a war on that scale, though. When the Soviet Union was invaded by a country with half its population, it still had to draft everyone. Ukraine is fighting a country with four times its population. But it’s funny that some people insist the Russian army is purely volunteer-driven when they enlisted 180k prisoners in 2024 alone, kek.
>>65132846I'm not using Wikipedia? Just, search the term and you will find actual news articles from Ukrainian sources using Ukraine's ISO web code .ua pertaining to Ukraine's conscription.
You can't just use the poor excuse of claiming everything that contradicts your preconceived notions as Russian propaganda, it makes you look like a clown. Ukraine using conscription isn't some Russian psyop, just ask any Ukrainian if you wish.
>>65132846>anyone can edit it actually no, articles on contentious topics get locked>and Russia works overtime to induce pro-Russian bias on the site.I haven't seen this. for every Wikipedia user who brings their biases into Wikipedia content, there are several who will maintain neutrality and shut their bullshit down. However I have seen an editing campaign that was openly backed by the Ukrainian government. (they were just sponsoring prizes for people to improve articles on Ukrainian topics, but still)
>>65132823probably because they're in a trench near the frontline, dumbass
>>65131618Ok but wut if it was a giantess that gathered the conscrips by plucking them from the street and stuffing them down cleavage?
>>65132915yes but they are likely still stuck in ukraine and likely don't speak english.
>>65132915have a read and maybe google what "mobilisation" means https://www.osw.waw.pl/en/publikacje/analyses/2026-04-03/ukraines-mobilisation-crisis-a-new-minister-old-challenges
The Ukrainian war decisively proved that all that GWOT/2000s gospel about "hurr da modern soldier is a trained careerist professhunal" melts in the face of sustained conventional conflict.
>>65133062And yet that's exactly who Ukraine is using to fight this war
>>65131837I think this is seasonal, they're stirred up because we're getting near Putins Pride Parade, the Big Banana Bonanza, the Magnificent May Monkey March
>>65133090Both sides of this conflict have professional troops bolstered with vast amounts of conscripts. Its just that Russians ran out of theirs first by dumbly sustaining the conflict instead of knowing when they're licked.
>>65132775>Mayday parade
>>65133095Anon, Ukraine spends months training its people. Russia just throws the meat into the grinder
>>65133131that would be too funny
>>65131698Didn't the Russians sperg out when conscriptions were decreased, given it's one of the only decent paying jobs for the shithole central Russian republics?
>>65133150since when is getting drafted a requirement to join the military?
>>65133153Conscription is a guaranteed minimum, there's nothing ensuring that one will be accepted into the Russian military if one volunteers, whereas conscription is far more certain of being given a paltry amount of money that allows a Tajik to live well. But I think you already know this and are just being a disingenuous niggerfaggot.
>>65133164the only think I know for certain, is that you're a retard
>>65133167You type like a fag, learn to use the shift key.
>>65133128>Ukraine spends months training its people.Yes that is what a functioning conscription system looks like.
>>65132801No it fucking sucks. Every interesting anon got driven off by foreigners fighting over stipid bullshit. All thats left are the eternal tripfags in the generals.
>still continuing the retarded transparent tactic of falseflagging as his "smug delusional redditor hohol" persona and then immediately samefag it up by dunking on his own retarded LARP postThey aren't sending their best.
>>65133128You stupid fucking amerimutt
>>65131632what? russia is on the offense and russia has a volunteer army>>65131618the volunteer army is having a pretty abysmal k/d right now and will soon have to become a conscript army to continue>>65131753OP is retarded. Ukraine is a mobilized conscript army while Russia is a volunteer army made up of people who did mandatory military service in their youth.
>>65133095>bolstered with vast amounts of conscripts.russia is still not conscripting troops. the yearly conscription is 18 year olds undergoing basic training to become reservists, they're not being used in combat.
>>65133497Russia has had one pure mobik wave, and a selective mobilization has been ongoing since 2023. Also the volunteer recruitment is mobilization under another name, as a lot of it is coerced: "Come to this mandatory volunteer recruitment event. Once you are inside the building you're signing the documents or get gulag'd to a prison".
>>65131618No
FACTNo western country has fought a major war without some form of conscriptionThe idea a purely volunteer force can provide the necessary manpower for a high intensity war is a fantasy
>>65133090You're saying Ukraine has not engaged in any form of conscription?
>>65133565nah bro, Russia is totally a volunteer army because they say so.
>>65133558>Russia is not a conscription force>Okay they conscripted 300 000 men to die in the war but so whatZiggers are funny
>>65133062That's because the GWOT wasn't a "sustained conventional conflict" you fucking idiot, nor did most western militaries think they would be in one for the foreseeable future. Also you are incredibly ignorant if you think view only dates back to the early 00s.
>>65133558what about all those convicts they told "if you join you'll be auxiliary and not at the front" that they sent to the frontline, do you seriously believe that they are "volunteers" as well?don't bother replying.
>>65133687>you'll be auxiliarydidn't happen do you seriously believe that they are "volunteers" as well?yes, because they chose the frontline for the promise of being pardoned once their service was over
>>65131618NoYou need bothYou need a professional army who are all trained to such an extent that they can do the job of their COs. E.g. a squad leader should be able to lead a platoon, a company commander should be able to lead a battalion, a brigadier should be able to lead a full division with all the trimmings, etcThen you need a conscript pool who are fit enough that you can expand the army when you need to and they can slot in as privates with basic trainingThat's how the Wehrmacht managed to grow a massive army faster and better-trained than anyone else
>>65133694>>Invisible Losses: Tens of thousands fighting for Russia are dying unnoticed on the frontline in Ukraine>Another large part of the Russian losses are convicts recruited in prisons.>Ildus Sadykov was 59 when he was arrested for stealing a bag at a railway station in Moscow. It was the fourth time he ended up in jail, having spent a total of 16 years behind bars for separate criminal convictions.>"They told me, 'If you don't want to go back to prison, sign a contract.' They assured me that at my age, I wouldn't be sent to the front, just assigned to an auxiliary role. Well, I went along with it." He recalls, speaking as a prisoner of war after being captured by Ukrainian forces in the summer of 2024.>Following a prisoner exchange, he was returned to Russia, where he was sent back to the frontlines again. This month, Ildus Sadykov was killed in combat.>Currently, the BBC Russian database of war casualties includes 16,171 convicted criminals who were recruited from penal colonies to fight. These are just the cases in which we could verify criminal records through open sources. The actual number of deceased convicts is likely far higher.>By including an analysis of leaked documents from the Wagner Group private military company, we can estimate that prisoners may make up as much as a third of Russia's military fatalities over the three years of the invasion. Many of these individuals lived in correctional facilities, effectively cut off from broader society, for years on end.source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgkm7lly61dopublished 23rd/02/2025
>>65131618No, but it has shown why having an NCO corps is important.
>>65132809Site has been on a downward spiral with massive blows dealt in 2012, 2016, 2019 and 24. Countless redditfugees, discordtrannies, twitter retards and third worlders have immigrated to 4chan with no sign of stopping. The culture site wide is fucking dead. Now it's just another culture/political shitflinging battleground like the rest of the internet. At least the Ukraine invasion gave us some amazing kino
>>65131786>mfw finland has larger reserve than france, germany, britain, italy, spain, sweden, denmark, norway, netherlands combined
>>65133856did you forget the punchline?
>>65131618Volunteer armies are always superior to conscript armies but at the same time you can't really field a volunteer army if the war isn't popular.
>>65134658Why bet on the popularity of the war, especially a defensive one? Volunteer armies are a luxury and a very fragile anomaly which can exist only in very specific conditions. It's undeniable that every country would field stronger militaries if they had conscription because modern conscription methods offer specialization and career paths just like the volunteer models do.
>>65134341You say that but the whole website has been on a slow death in numbers throughout this decade, that would be ok if the general quality of posting or even the shitposting had remained the same or got better but its actually gone down, all zoomers are retarded, tons of trolling and despite all the captcha fiddling the place seems full of bots. >>65133485 is basically true of a lot of the website (It wasn't solely foreigners, plus minus the trips remark), and its really noticeable on some boards, particularly smaller boards where there wasn't much to troll, glow or have bots on. I'm not convinced there's been an noticeable wave of newfags since the cough outbreak. Besides this board always had a large element of "eternal battleground between retarded circle jerks" even before 2022, the armatard stuff predated the invasion. There was always going to be newfags and change that's just the nature of things; especially if you want the site to stay alive and not die from staleness which is what is happening at the moment; but the site has gotten worse, but then the whole internet has.
I think anons should stop using "volunteer" army when what I actually think they mean is "professional" army, I think some are confusing the two. There's a big difference between a well trained professional army and a volunteer army brought together in a time of national emergency. The British army before ww1 was a professional army, the men that joined up after the war started were volunteers (Britain didn't start conscription until 1916).A professional army will always outperform either of the other, pound for pound, but obviously the trouble comes when it is badly outnumbered. (see the BEF in 1914).At the end of the day a poorly trained and equipped volunteer army would still before worse than a well trained and equipped conscript army. Although that said, conscript armies usually suffer from poor training and low morale, at least a volunteer army should have a good morale (at least before someone gets shot) which is the main benefit over a conscripted one.
So I guess the Ukrainian press gangs in vans that were abducting people were doing to people who enlisted voluntarily?
>>65131618>Two conscript armies that have "modernish" equipment immediately switch to ww1 trench warfare>random brown: "IS this the future of modern warfare???"No, this is what happens when you have Slavs fighting each other. Very similar to when Muds fight each other with modernish equipment. They immediately default to WW1 trench warfare.
>>65135437>the Ukrainian press gangs in vans...can we see it?
>>65135470What rock have you been living under?
>false advertising10000x10000 curses upon your cars transmission OP
>>65135505Oh yeah, the arrests made of Russian assets in Ukraine. Those guys getting shoved in the vans. I would have forgotten about them if you didn't bring it up.
>"smug delusional redditor hohol" larper necrobumps his thread and resumes the retarded psyopI hope you're getting paid for this.
I seem to have watched a number of videos of Ukranians being abducted because they didn't want to fight.Ukrainians are fighting a holy war, existential Russians are attempting a land grab, which has failed dramatically
>>65133856If only there was a way that Ukraine could utilize Western trannies as a disposable asset.
>>65131618I enjoy giantessesthat is all
>>65131618No. All the goofballs who planned, executed, and subsequently botched the initial invasion for Russia were "professional" soldiers. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from this war, but what you're suggesting isn't one of them.
>>65135527>russian assetsAre you serious? Bro they were literally getting conscripted. We have several videos of this, and lots of other sources including a video of these guys getting to boot camp and getting roasted by the drill instructor for draft dodging. coping is not going to change that and is just 3rd world brown behavior. Also yeah the Russians do it all the time too
>>65135592We have several videos of Russian spies getting arrested, but videos of Ukrainians getting conscripted, no Ukrainians have been conscripted yet.
>>65135595>every video is a Russian spy getting abducted Wow that’s really convenient, how about that!!
>>65135605Not every video, some of them are Russians being conscripted. The whole bussification thing is literally just Russians projecting by accusing Ukraine of doing to its citizens what Russia is actually doing to its own citizens
>>65135535Are these ‘delusional holhol’s’ in the room with us, Ivan?
