I'm a noguns LARPer fag in a ban state and I just want some cool looking shit. I generally prefer aesthetics over functionality but I'd still be going to the range of course. What are some things I could be getting? Budget not much of a constraint.

If you're not familiar with AWB provisions here are some of the bigger ones:
>no pistol grip(!!!)
>no magazines over ten rounds (I could get a physically longer magazine but it would have to be modified to fit only ten rounds)
>no foregrip of any sort
>threaded barrel for suppressor only permitted in some situations (not allowed on pistols)
>no folding/telescoping stock

I could also get specific modifications to bypass some of these (e.g. a "fin" to resolve the pistol grip rule) but that would look and feel totally cucked and I'd rather not. Also inb4 some retarded poorfag milsurp bolt action from the 1800s no thanks I'd like something made after 1940 at the very least.

Maybe a leaf or euro could clue me in?

I've looked into this before. What are your thoughts on the Mini-14?
>>
>>65131754
nta but it's more expensive with more expensive mags and really meh accuracy compared to anything else. m1a is at least 308

I think they're neat. I'd rather have one than a compliant AR.

Thumbhole stocks with the same utility as a pistol grip would also be verboten in this case.
>>
>>65132089
Really? Where? They are legal in California, I see them all the time at turners.
>>
>>65132096
they are no go in commiefornia if they are attached to a semi auto detachable box magazine fed centerfire (and shotguns iirc)
>>
>>65132096
I'm not in CA but it looks like both of our statutes use the same language. But I missed the part where this applies to semi-automatic rifles specifically so I was wrong about >>65132082

Several things come to mind,
>Any bolt action rifle
Ruger Hawkeye, Winchester M70, CZ550, milsurp k31, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are so many options but I recommend trying the bolts before you buy as you will immediately realize just by feel that some are far smoother and better made than others.
>Any tube fed shotgun
Mossberg 590a1 is very handsome, Beretta 1301, Benelli stuff, Old Winchester, Ithaca M37. Double and single barrels also have a cool look.
>1911
Magnum Research/Bul, Springfield, Colt all have good offerings and Dan Wesson is top of the factory made pile. Beyond that are semi-custom/custom builds but they are not cheap.
>Revolvers
S&W 686 or Colt Python are quite good looking, but there’s a million other handsome options including single actions like Colt SAA and euro stuff.
>Random shit
M1 Garand(pa), Mini14, M1a, SKS, commie surplus, any regular pistol you like with a neutered mag, nearly any subcompact you like like (eg Walther PP, for classic looks, 43x for modern blocky looks), almost every .50 bmg rifle looks cool.
I’m sure there’s other stuff you will like.

C. Sharps has the bespoke single shot rifles you desire.
>huge choice of calibers
>look fancy as fuck
>will make anyone jelly when you rock up with a 6k custom 1885 highwall with silver and ebony on fancy walnut
>big bore on steel at long range is stupid fun
>>
>>65131742
A 22" barreled M1A with a brake is both practical and extremely fun to shoot, as the barrel length means that most of the propellant is burned away so you don't have a magazine fed flashbang.
>>
>>65132102
That's a bolt action you fucking retard.
>>
>>65131717
I'm guessing California, which I have experienced personally. Some good options.

>M1A or some other M14gery with a brake if you can afford it
>Mini-14 if you want a Mini M14gery shooting cheaper ammunition
>Kel-Tec SU-16 if you want it really cheap/lightweight and using AR magazines
>M1 Garand if you want it to be milsurp and enjoy both .30-06 and the ping
>SKS if you want something idiot proof
>Featureless AR-15 if you can live with the fin (ideally one with a thumb shelf)

>>65131754
Get one with a serial prefix of 580 or higher. Old models with the thin barrels have heat stringing accuracy problems. Upgrade rear sight to tech sights (factory rear sight is absolutely worthless) and get some John Masen 10rd magazines. Don't bother with the factory scope rings, they are also worthless.
Otherwise good rifle, 7/10 would survive California gun ownership with again.
>>65132752
You get decent performance with the 18" as well if you want something a little handier, but the 16" does require a goofy "SOCOM" gas system that doesn't always work right.
>>65132195
Seconding the M77, particularly the Scout. I sold mine when I left California and jumped at the chance to get a replacement once I had the opportunity. Great rifle. Sadly out of production today.

>tfw SKS banned by name
Fuck WA. It literally abides by every other facet of our state's unconstitutional AWB but gets banned by name anyway for ?????

Because too many "poors" own them.
From what I gather it's an edited copy/paste of California's AWB (which everybody copies) that originally banned SKS rifles with detachable magazines. To make it simple most copies of this portion just highlight the SKS as a whole.

The reason why California banned it (mind you this is hearsay) was due to their widespread use by roof Koreans during the 1992 LA riots. I don't recall seeing any SKS rifles used in footage of that event let alone the SKS-M or SKS-D variants but there could be photos or video I didn't see. It would be completely on brand for California to retaliate against people trying to defend themselves from agitated minorities who got stirred up by their policies/media by banning the guns they used. The way they treated Koreans who lost everything in the riots was pure, blatant racism as well.
>>65133160
They are much better rifles than they get credit for. Genuinely good shooters, nice crisp triggers, very lightweight and well balanced. The only downside is how cheap and ratty they feel. It's hard to trust that one would last for a long time and high round counts. If I had to move back to California and could only take one rifle I'm not sure an SU-16 would be it.
>>
>>65131754
M1A is going to be PIMP if you put a scope on it and engage some long range shit

A Mini-14 gets a sad face from me
