how much does heritage of a military influence modern thinking? the chinese military has influences ranging from germany through past KMT generals that deserted to them, but also gorilla warfare cooked up by Mao.
Japan originally tried to emulate european stuff, politically british system, militarily prussian/german.
The finns started from scratch and inherited a german military, but does that still matter?
