From a strictly physical standpoint sure, the mid/late war high velocity anti-tank guns would be able to penetrate the side armor of most modern tank designs. Material science only had so far to go. The problem of course is that modern tanks have situational awareness an order of magnitude greater than any WWII tank. But no tank is going to enjoy being bombed or shelled, even if they're far less accurate than modern munitions

you can destroy a modern tank with a WW1 artillery piece. pretty much any huge lump of explosives will qualify for a mission kill at the very least.
