keep politics out of this.
so, russian ignored ukraines request for a ceasefire, so, what do you think russia's parade will look like this year? do you think ukraine has the balls to attack the parade? will it be a single tank again?
>>
They don't need to attack the ruslim pride parade directly. Simply causing all manner of disruption all around Moscow and keeping everyone in a state of exceptionally high alert is enough.
>>
Didnt someone already drone the flag over the kremlin
>>
>>65135208
Theey'l have no or few vehicles, maybe an overflight.

Ukraine doesn't even have to attack Moscow that day to make Russia the laughingstock of the civilized world.
They can just drone another refinery, harbor, shipyard, pipeline, etc.
>>
>>65135208
Russia is just going to cancel the parade and blame Ukraine for it regardless. They've already announced there's not going to be troops, cadets, or vehicles, what's left to show off?
>>
>>65135248
I cant believe they dont just tow or jury rig the T-14s at least for the, "we havent even sent in the real army" narrative

Honestly, I think since the start of the war they should have just used a single T-34 and a single T-14 as the parade pieces as a symbol of where they started and where they are now. Surely they could afford to keep two tanks in running condition with a dozen Armatas and at least two dozen T-34s available to pull parts from.

Hitting the parade itself is a high risk move, there will be GPS jamming and the CEP of their long range weapons isn't great without GPS.
If they hit the crowd and the world sees footage of women and children blown apart Ukraine could lose some international support.
They should hit targets in Moscow before the parade to make the public and officials too scared to attend but not target the parade itself.
The only way to hit the parade without this risk is to have fibre drones launch from inside Moscow which is possible but much harder.

>>65135382
The best place would be the AD network around Moscow. It's highly visible, an undisputably valid military target, and composed of either strategic level AD systems russia can't replace or interceptors they build extremely slowly. Destroying a dozen S-300 and S-400 radars would not only send a message that putin can't protect them, it would open an even bigger gap in the rest of the AD network and allow for some really funny shit.

I don't think Ukraine will attack the parade. There is simply not enough value. It would be funny but Ukraine has already completely embarrassed Russia to death so doing stuff for show rather than keeping the pressure up on refineries and other critical infrastructure is a waste. There is also the risk for civilian casualties which would have the opposite effect that Ukraine would want. Striking the parade may further demoralize the Russian army, but if it hits 20 feet to the side and hits the stands, that's just giving Russia a free propaganda win for their "Ukraine is a terrorist state" narrative.
>>
>>65135492
They should blow up those video walls, even the knockoff Chinese garbage the Russians are probably using isn't cheap. Those pixels die if you look at them wrong, one drone could probably brick the entire display.
>>
>>65135558
This.
Ukraine is winning this propaganda show simply by Russia a) breaking the ceasefire and killing civillians (again, again) and b) Russia doing a song and dance and showing how they dismantle their parade srtands, thus admitting they are afraid and can't protect their airspace (which is obvious due to a refinery or port exploding every two days or so)
>>
>>65135208
Why would Ukraine attack the parade? Militarily it doesn't achieve anything and would cost a huge amount of drones for minimal effect. Sure it would be embarrassing for Putin, but as >>65135492 shows, he's already embarrassed. He's having to beg and threaten Ukraine into allowing a pathetic little parade to go ahead. They couldn't even throw together some BMPs, pick-up and reenactors.

All that densely layered AD around Moscow means that there are lots of Juicy targets that exposed. Why spend hundreds of drones to interrupt a marching band, when you can hit tuapse again.
>>
I would like to see Ukraine use their deep drone swarm tactic but even bigger on a front.
While Moscow is out celebrating victory troops on the front are getting minced on a scale not seen since the Wagner meat waves.
>>

Why not do a funny where Ukraine sends a swarm of drones over the parade equipped with Ukrainian flags? No risk of bad international press, and the Russians look terrible when there's inevitably a ton of poorly aimed shots at the drones that collateral civilians.
>>
>>65135579
The front is pretty much exclusively hard targets, thats why both sides focus on rear area logistics rather than sending one way attack drones at trenches
>>
Imagine sending a Flamingo into Lenin's mausoleum and seeing his corpse launched into Red Square
>>
>>65135578
They wouldn't. Putin is blaming them for an attack they won't be making in order to cancel the parade.

>send meme drones full of flyers with monke putin pictures high above moscow
>russian AD blows up half the city
>we did it Ivan, we saved puccia!
>>
>>65135597
They're working on it. They've tested a 'creeping barrage' of drones several times and apparently it really supressed the Russians, including Russian FPV operators.

Right now they use it to thin out Russian storm troops before they even begin to advance, but this is the kind of capability they'll need at scale.
50 km wide, and equally as deep, maybe?
>>
>>65135597
I agree it would be much more worth to strike deep targets but no reason Ukraine cant celebrate Victory Day with some extra fireworks, right? The drones used for deep and front line targets dont have a lot of over lap so they wont be losing much to tackle AD and infrastructure.
Im just hoping they put a few drones and companies on reserves to let them build up for a big hooray.

The vast armies of Monke of the Russian Federation have conquered Ukraine's southeastern coast in a Special Military Operation. The myriad Ukrainian civilians have been smashed by the Czar's elite warriors and wiped from the face of history.

The dawn of a new age of supremacy for Russkind beckons.

Gleaming villas of marble and toilets of gold celebrate the many embezzlements of Monke. Yachts are bought for a million oligarchs to record the epic deeds of his most powerful and deadly fossil fuel deals.

First and foremost amongst these oligarchs are the siloviks, superheroic beings who have led Monke's armies of mobiks in victory after victory. They are unstoppable and magnificent, the pinnacle of the Czar’s dedovchina experimentation. The siloviks are the mightiest subhuman warriors the near-abroad has ever known, each capable of raping a hundred normal Russian conscripts or more in combat.

Organized into vast armies of tens of thousands called Military Districts, the mobiks and their siloviki leaders conquer the Donbass in the name of the Czar.

Chief amongst the siloviks is Yevgeny Prigozhin, called the Cook, the brightest Caterer, favorite of Monke, and like a son unto him. He is the Warmaster, the commander of the Czar's mercenary might, subjugator of a thousand thousand Bakhmuttian houses and the rapist of Mali. He is a warrior without peer, a diplomat supreme.

Prigozhin is a star ascendant, but how much further can a star rise before it falls?
>>
>>65135889
The USSR is in flames. Stalin's glorious vision for Homo Sovieticus is in ruins. His favoured son, Monke, has turned from his Communism's spectre and embraced Oligarchaos.

His armies, the mighty and redoubtable Russian Armed Forces, are locked in a brutal special military operation against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Once, these Soviet warriors fought side by side as brothers, protecting the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and bringing the people of Europe back into the Russkiy Mir. Now they are divided.

Some Soviets remain loyal to the Tsar, whilst others have sided with the Warmaster Zelensky. Preeminent amongst the Russians, the elite of their thousands-strong mobik hordes, are the VDV. Magnificent, subhuman beings, they are the crowning achievement of Soviet dedovschina tradition. Thrust into battle against the Ukrainians, victory is uncertain for either side.

Airports are burning. At Hostomel and Chornobaivka, Zelensky dealt a vicious blow and three loyal VDV divisions were all but destroyed. War has begun, a conflict that will engulf the steppes in fire. Treachery and betrayal have usurped honor and nobility. Drones lurk in every shadow. Armies are gathering. All must choose a side or die.

Zelensky musters his horde, Crimea itself the object of his wrath. Seated upon Golden Banan, Monke waits for his wayward son to return. But the true enemy is NATO, a primordial force that seeks to enslave mankind to democracy and prosperity.

The screams of the T-14 and the pleas of the mobiks resound to the cruel laughter of Monke. Suffering and damnation await him should he fail and the war be lost.

The age of the Happiness of all Russkind has ended.
The Age of Monke has begun.

Assuming they actually do it in the first place very small and purely symbolic. Possibly showing off commercial products instead of military equipment. Instead I'd expect a speech from the Putibunker and maybe a low effort TV special/propaganda documentary ending with enlistment ads. I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if Red Square is empty all day on the 9th with what we've heard so far.

>>65135578
The "attack" I'd expect is what >>65135591
said. Smuggled drones unfurling Ukrainian flags above the meager parade (assuming it happens at all) rather than just blowing it up. Imagine how embarrassing that would be, especially if the Ukies livestreamed it. Fly them through Red Square in formation before they zip off and hit actual targets like the Kremlin or funny ones like Lenin's tomb. VERY unlikely due to the likely difficulty of sneaking in and flying even a single drone there, but good god it'd be hilarious. It'd basically be the Ukrainians pulling the ultimate teabaging for all to see. Truly the eggs would be on on Putin's face, they would not need to be measured.

I sincerely doubt they're going to launch a drone wave at Moscow when there's juicier targets that are likely to have even less AD over that date.

That's in no way certain, Medvedev was the face of russia getting closer to the west so now he has to spew increasingly retarded takes on tv like a dancing monkey and nook nook every other speech
Some solid contenders are Patrushevs son, if the silovniki come out on top, or Kovalchuk's son if regular oligarchs take power
Then there's Kiriyenko and his son or one of his hot shot ministers which could be considered his faction, and Dyumin, putin's bodyguard turned "shadow defense minister" who's the most likely Shoigu successor

Obviously it all depends on how much support from the other big players they can get, like the Rotenbergs or putins daughters which aren't big politics wise but have massive influence behind the scenes and in the business world

I mean, would you not do this? If putin keels over, there will be a short time where his body doubles will be worth their weight in gold, giving time to consolidate power and maybe even pin some long overdue unpopular decrees on him

"In the flames of Arch-Empire Sovieticus, the weakened Yeltsin sat in his fortress and consumed the blood of Taimat, not for power but only to stay alive.
The preists of Rus-Ah-Tohm and the class of sub Vodkian Krokodyl Knights chose among them a Fascisti-Ayatollah. The Monke King.
And he read of the texts of Monty Python and thought them wise.
He ruled according to the Doctrines of Amerikanski Filme, brought to his santum sanctroii by Stevenus Segali- Proto-Reclamation ritual golem of RASPUTIN!.

>If Putin dies his replacement is most likely... Vladimir Putin
That could possibly be true for a while but the actual replacement will probably be Dmitry Patrushev, son of Nikolai who is the senior siloviki figure who has backed Putin his entire career and some consider him to be the power behind Putin.
Dmitry is 48 now, so more than old enough to be president, he's deputy PM now and has had a few ministries among other jobs.

They traded 30 T-34-85's and few Su-100's from Laos in 2019 in exchange for T-72's. Too bad that some articles about it now 404, but those were post war Czechoslovakian or Polish produced tanks. So next time you see T-34 in Russian parade, tank was probably made in a NATO country and thus NATO tanks are parading in the streets of Moscow.

This always bothers me because the 2010 may 9th parade featured US troops with none of the synchronization issues. Plenty of other examples of US troops marching well too. Either they really just didn't give a shit during the DC parade or someone wanted it to look low effort. Either way the result was it made us look bad. Either way punishments should have come over it. Good marching in a parade doesn't determine warfighting capability but is sure does affect how your people and other nations see your troops.

I'd love to see an annual US military parade on the 4th of July each year with a big one every 5 years but troops should be expected to actually take it seriously the same way the air force does their sportsball flyovers. If nothing else it's training.

Eventually, yes. But 'multipolar world' is ziggerspeak for 'we want out sphere of influence back', anyway.

History shows that we can expect a time of decline. US perceived power is sorely wounded, but will probably even recover a bit as soon as the Trump administration leaves. The legal fallout will continue to hurt US prestige of course, for years to come, and the loss of trust is probably a long term feature.
But once the actively damaging components (Trump, other Russian assets, the clown entourage that occupies the appointed offices) are removed, the US economy is still the strongest in the world. Europe and Asia still want to trade with you.

The Hormuz business has obviously massively hurt the US' perceived millitary strength, but this is really a self-inflicted wound that came from the political, strategic and negotiating failures, not the actual capabilities.
The actual forces certainly have shown weaknesses, lack of small naval assets, lack of tankers, bad anti drone capabilities. . .but these can be solved, some of them easily.

The US is not just gone.
China is not able to just pop up and occupy alll the voids left by US fuckups (USAid cancellation etc.)
Europe doesn't even want to be the worlld police again, and willl spend the next fifteen years rearming before regaining a true capability to act on the world stage anyway.
India has a lot, and I mean A LOT of internal problems to fix before they can pretend to be a superpower, and their main focus will always be their islamic neighbors and China.
I could go on, but the point is that there will not be a gigantic and sudden switch.

Hence the sentence:
>Good marching in a parade doesn't determine warfighting capability but is sure does affect how your people and other nations see your troops.
It does come across as a potential blood in the water to some countries. You shouldn't even need to point out Venezuela or the Iranians getting eviscerated with insanely low casualties but people will see them barely managing to maintain a block in a parade and forget about all that. Part of being at the top is people look at every little hint of weakness like it's straight up kryptonite..

>>65137115
The problem with assuming a new hegemon will rise is and the old will fall is there actually has to be something capable of surpassing the old one. The current hegemon could fall quite a ways before anyone could actually make a real attempt to take the seat. The Chinese are the only ones even in the same ball park but they're also a paper tiger whose economy would absolutely crater the second they kick off a war against anyone worth a shit. The EU is only there as a coalition and can't stop shooting themselves in the foot. It's not a "multipolar" issue, it's a matter of the US being so far head even on a bad day.

That anon with the "daily reminder" is just salty about the US not doing what he wanted us to. Also wrong about the war. Russia would certainly be worse off but I doubt they'd have given up yet even if Ukraine got 10x the US support. Problem with fighting a war against a death cult is they'll just keep coming until you kill enough of them or they win. That said Ukraine aid is the one thing I think Biden actually did good on and certainly something Trump screwed up on. We should've sent most of the old stuff that we'd have to pay to upgrade or scrap. Would've been a great global logistics training exercise. I agree with the "it must be purchased" route for newer stuff though.
