why do people treat drones like they ruined warfare,
being able to kill an enemy tank from the comfort of your own home is one of the best inventions of modern warfare.
just imagine once we get that neuralink working and you can coordinate and control hundreeds of drones at a time all while you re hidden deep inside a bunker too deep for any bunker buster and all attempt to jam the drones are rendered null by fiber optics.
>>
long term it's probably good to turn war into "hardware spam because men can't do much on the front lines"

It will suck for the people until then but it probably sucked for horses too
>>

Because warfare is seen by insecure men as a kind of moral undertaking/trial, an initiation rite into manlyhood. The worse conditions, the better.

Military efficiency is completely ortogonal to them.
>>
>>65136335
This. People in the middle ages were crying about how crossbows made it too easy for some badly trained commoner to kill some "honourable" knight. Drones are just the newest iteration of this meme.
>>
>>65136321
I was given the opportunity to be some mid-level drone military expert. I declined and went cyber/information warfare instead. Nevermind, the thing I really fear is pickups full of brown AK people from nearby city raiding my neighbourhood. No expertise can prevent that. Just guns.
>>
They know the truth about how those drones are going to be used against civilians after their military testing is finished.
>>
At what point will I be able to use my vr headset to fly drones across the world into tanks and get paid per confirmed hit? I'm already proficient enough in liftoff.
>>
>>65136390
This. The elite know as well as the commies that the ultimate war is class war
>>
>>65136321
The most annoying people are the ones who think drones are the answer to everything in warfare now
>>
>>65136321
because they wanted to be the guys in the tank
>>
>>65136390
Basically AI security cameras that return to home and charge like a roomba
>>
>>65136321
I can't wait to get home from work only to log into the mandatory daily drone piloting session in a decade or two.
See you faggots on the battlefield.

Bro it’s kinda relaxing, after a stressful job I personally fly a little tiny whoop around to de-stress

Little disc golf park next to the beach where I live, kinda chill out on a bench under Somme trees fly the little whoop 2-3 mins at a time around some disc golf goals

Goggles plus blue tooth earbuds listening to a podcast
>>
>>65136321
Just imagine what a schizo with enough drive and equipment could do with this.
>>
>>65136384
In Ukraine drones have proven remarkably effective against pickups full of browns with AKs
>>
>>65137032
How come everyone knows this except the wagies
>>
>>65136335
>>65136379
Nailed it, retards still believe the "honor of war" propaganda most people realized was bullshit about the time peasants became literate.
>>
>>65136384
>start working intel
>start fearing something that has never happened and would be easily stopped by LEO
Why are you guys all so stupid? Is it because you know you work for unpopular masters and fear hanging with them more than anything else?
>>
>picture shows hundreds of drones
>despite the fact this isn't possible with those kind of drones
>because of bandwidth crowding
>Ukraine and Russia have about 6 operators per area because of this
>The idea (perpetuated by retards like Musk) that you can make 1,000s of $50 Alibaba drones to go and sink carriers is fucking retarded
>True drone swarms can exist, but they are $50 and they are vastly more technologically complex since each drone needs to be self-connecting and self-transponding so if a drone loses control to the 'pilot' it connects to one that hasn't and follows that command
>This is expensive, harder to make and technologically complex
>It is also not really viable atm due to the cost, especially for one use systems when a missile or a bomb is vastly cheaper
>People will still post pictures of parade drones from China and go 'lol just slap a 30kg warhead on them and gg carrier group'
>doesn't realise that the parade drones are... parade drones, designed for making dragons appear in the sky, rather than carrying heavy payloads to hit a moving target
>doesn't post the webms where they fail and fall out of the sky en masse
Retards gonna retard, but this idea there are 'drone swarms' in war right now are retarded and images like OP cannot happen in a combat zone because of all the issues around it.
>>
>>65139193
Autonomous swarms are coming but I'm old enough now to know it you think something will enter service in 5 years it'll actually take 2 or 3 decades.
>>
>>65139202
They're possible but they're expensive and technologically complex things. It's like railguns. Yep, they're possible and they work. But the cost is worse than a missile, so there is no real interest until that can improve or the railgun becomes better. As it stands, most of the research into railgun improved existing munition rounds and stuff.

But you got retards like Musk saying that drones can fly up and take out F-35s with AI or some shit.
>>
>>65138550
Only because Russia has managed to combine the funding and logistics capabilities of an insurgency with the fixed positions of a conventional army. If the ukies were worried about Ivan down the street getting a bunch of the boys to put on masks and raid their houses at 2 in the morning the trucks full of ak's would be a problem.
>>
>>65139215
I think the difference is a railgun offers arty with longer range than tubes but still shorter than missiles making it a very niche role.
On the other hand automous swarms could clear all infantry from several square kilometers in minutes which can't be done by anything except nukes and chemical weapons which come with major drawbacks.
>>
>>65139177
>stopped by LEO
Who do think they work for? The people? Lol. Lmao even.
>>65138810
Because most people don't want to hear the truth, they want to hear a story.
>it's not your fault you're poor, or feel unrepresented, or feel like your values are under attack
>it's all these "insert group of choice" people causing it
>ignore how we shipped first the factories, then the lower white collar, then the skilled collar jobs overseas
>ignore the ones that are still here we're flooding with jeets who'll work for 50% as much
>ignore how we keep destroying the american dream to line our own pockets
>ignore how we've packed the government because we first packed the courts
>ignore how we've deliberately worked to erode social trust and break down communities
>it's not our fault, it's still "insert group choice"
And it works. It works because telling a story of "the other" being the root cause of all your problems is easier than swallowing the truth that if shit's going to change it's going to be expensive, complicated, and probably bloody at this point to correct course.
>so do something about it
I'll be the first to admit to my own cowardice.
>>
>>65139247
>Who do think they work for?
I'm a socialist, I know how the game works.
If you understand the game how do you justify working against your countrymen to aid the elite?
>>
>>65139222
>automous swarms could clear all infantry from several square kilometers
So people just stay in palce waiting for drones to hit them? A simple underground bunker with a door and an remote controlled turret outside will stop your amazing kill everything wuderwaffle
>>
>>65139253
>implying wagies have agency
The elites literally breed them to be subservient why do you think 130 IQ+ wagies always remain virgins and get 0 pussy? The elites have rigged it to cause breeding patterns.
>>
>>65139287
Then I advance while the whole area is effectively surpressed.
