India is well and truly fucked.They've been trying to play the neutral party between east and west, and they've wasted too much time trying to get AMCA off the ground that there is no real way for them to compete with Chinese J-20/J-35s and Pakistani J-35s probably won't take long to hit the skies. They keep buying S400 despite knowing the Chinese also bought S-400s and literally designed the J-20/J-35's stealth and EW against the S-400 system.So India is going to have to rely on 4th gen or 4.5th gen fighters for a decade or more against 5th gen (even if not F-35/F-22 equivalent) Chinese/Pakistani fighters.And they still delusionally talk about joining FCAS or GCAP, when France won't even share the software source code on the Rafale F5 they want India to buy.But yea, India is fucked and the politicians are too modi simps and corrupt that there is zero way for India to put up an actual 5th gen platform within 10-15 years.

At best india will be kept around through economic sanctions if china/pakistan ever did try to start taking chunks out of the indian north then i can see the west potentially step in with heavy sanctions just to keep india around, but I can't see the west providing 5th gen fighters, 5th gen technology transfer, or actual hard defense agreements. India has spent the last 30 years selling the vision that india doesn't need to be aligned with the west, and modi in particular has been pushing the "Make in India" initiative, so any alignment with the west against china HAS to be kept rather limited just for indias own domestic audience, who are incredibly nationalistic and wouldn't accept open western support.
