What do we think of current day Remington? Is Frontier Defense Group doing enough to right the wrongs of Cerberus and restore QC/build standards of ye olden day Remington?
It's dead. The only thing they have left is the Remington 700 (both obsolete technologically, and no longer unique on the market) can't compete with Miroku Model 70s which at least have a Mauser/CRF action and are much higher quality. Mossberg beat them to the punch with the Shockwave too. I had their 700 BDL which had incredible "museum grade" fancy stock. But the buttpad is plastic (shit) and the checkering is pressed checkering (also shit, and can't be replaced like a buttpad can). It's nice that they still offer it with iron sights.
>>65139562That's unfortunate. How do you like the Para brand? It's been a while since I was deep into current firearm happenings.
>>65139728Para ord died over a decade ago
>>65139294Remington guns and ammo are garbageWinchester ammo is also garbage
>>65139728If you stopped caring when i think you stopped caring 2010s plently has changed. A bunch of companies ceased to exist and imported guns that people actually want vanished or became exteremly limited. The only thing new on the market is a flood of turkshit. No new good companies replaced the destroyed ones. The other newish thing is some really compact ccw pistols.
>>65139294They lost Marlin (bad for Remington, good for Marlin, which was bought out by Ruger); they lost Barnes ammunition; they lost Bushmaster; they lost Tapco, etc. To my understanding, Vista Outdoors now owns and makes Remington ammo; the Roundhill Group makes the weapons by paying a license to Vista Outdoors.
>>65139294It'd be nice if ANYONE posted reviews of their new guns. Been long enough, surely.>>65139562Literally the only thing they make is the 700 or figuratively? They can't not be making 870s and there's no way they sold their most well known shotgun design away, right?
>>65139294They don't make guns. They've been "transitioning" to their new facility for a few years now. I asked them directly if they still made firearms of ANY kind and it took them 3 weeks to write back and say they were "transitioning" and couldn't answer my question and had no updates or commentary regarding their product line. You can literally go ask them yourself. Imo it's just being held as a legacy name while they try and figure out how to sell it off to an actual gun maker.
>>65142517That new facility is about to be delivered and they will be commencing operations under a 20 year lease, is my understanding
>>65142453no one is buying pump shotguns anon.
>>65144046nobody buys highend pump shotguns. 88s and turkshits still selling. hell the recent trump assassin had a mav
