Not interested in a Taurus thanks though.

I have joined the club. Shot 150 through it right after I picked it up. The safety is terrible and I'll be getting the M9 one to replace it, SA trigger pull is astonishingly good. Did two rounds of dot torture, and it's a good thing 9mm is cheap because god damn do I need practice, I suck ass.Gun with book because apparently that's how things work around here, this is the only Italian porn I have though.
>>65140702Is that the Compact?
>>65140707Yea, I wanted a CC piece and the subcompact options were just too smol for my hands, I think i'll be able to get away with this. Certainly during the winter at least.
>>65140701I said I don't want a Taurus
>>65140719I think that is a pretty cool carry gun.
>>65140702Patriot.I heavily recommend getting the stealth lever kit, as it will give you the low profile slide stop. Getting onto the gun at speed the low profile slide stop reduces the chances of you accidentally engaging it. It also contains a decocker kit, which you pair the right side of the stealth decocker with the safety of your choice to create a single sided safety.
>>65140733God fucking damn it
>>65140701Is there a more edgy name for your gun shop than "devil hound tactical"?
>>65140737https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_DogYou gonna shit talk?

>>65140769I am technologically retarded. I know bullets go in gun and if I pull trigger they come out really fast. Everything else about guns is literally magic to me

total douche bag, like Donut Operator

I love how they're marketing mountain dew to capital G gamers now. Also the gen 6 is peak Glock and you are a sixcel if you say otherwise.
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1175876425If I want a USP in .45, should I just buy this?
>>65140862Yeah, hell yeah. It ain't going to go for cheap, though.
>>65140800>posting leviathan tribe shillsKEKthe HK newguns fans cannot help but reveal themselves
>>65140880I already said that I don't like him. Something about him, yeah he does seem like scum.
post cats n gats>>65140858I've yet fingerfuck one let alone shoot one, what's the trigger like compared to gen 5?
>>65140733>stealth lever kitIf i'm reading it right Beretta only sells the low profile safety/decocker lever and langdon is out of their kits. So i'll grab one when they get back in stock. The slide catch does stick out an awful lot, I had wondered why it was quoted as being wider than my USP.
>>65140862Wait, buy now price for $950? Hell yeah. Yeah, buy it!
Bersa TPR9 is sexy, THO
>>65140899ok, she loves watching me clean my guns>calicoCUTE!
>>65140862Yes thats sick
>>65140929Yeah $950 is actually a fair offer. And 5 magazines?
>>65140862>buying used guns
Any recommendations on a duty/comp holster for a VP9L? No budget limit
>>65140899Pretty similar, I do prefer the flat face trigger though. The biggest improvement imo is the grip and grip texture. Also that you can mount any optic without having to buy plates, but we'll see how these do and if my optic stays on. I used the factory loctite so I'm asking for it.
>>65140939>paying close to $1,419 for a new .45 usp elite
>>65140918I like their ppk clone in 380 but I can't bring myself to buy an argentinian gun
I think I need something else in .30 Looger. Suggerimenti?
gen 1 was by far the most beautiful and the grip was all downhill from then why are all modern pistols ugly toblerone abominations
>>65139453https://files.catbox.moe/6fn6kk.mp4
>>65140970>tobleroneI assumed it was cheaper/easier to make. Can't fucking stand it though.
>>65140935Yea new they're minimum $1200, I can't see the date code on it though, it looks more worn than the 200 rounds they're claiming.2 of the mags are 10 rounders, which is gay.
>>65140987>2 of the mags are 10 rounders, which is gay.Meh. I think it's a good buy.
>>65140970Gen 3 Glocks are my favorite because they have no front serrations and the finger grips
>>65140987>2 of the mags are 10 rounders, which is gay.Perfect for a cuck state like mine, I'm bidding.
What's the endgame of pistol shooting? Unless you have the desire and dedication for serious competition and spend your time shaving off thousands of a second, what's the plateau for the average Joe? Social media and 10 second videos of a guy ripping his best drill of the day have distorted realistic expectations for cold draws, so it's hard to get decent information.
>>65140991I generally hate finger grooves on weapons but gen 3 GLOCKs feel like they were made specifically for my weird block hands.
booooo
>>65141005What's wrong?
>>65141001The average Joe sucks cock at shooting. Go to your local shooting matches, action shooting, steel, etc. you don’t have to do USPSA or IDPA.
>>65140963H&K P9Shttps://www.gunbroker.com/item/1175707393
>>65140702>the safety is terrible Agreed...i feel like it was designed for looks but functionally its upside-down...its easier to engage instead of disengage Heres a link for where i found my 92 style replacement https://www.eurooptic.com/beretta-px4-assembled-safety-lever-type-92fs-rp-c8a000?srsltid=AfmBOorFthrAktTxKK5fo3AZO5mLIstU-i2BKr0SZZxC3cnukr0KHVpV
>>65140987I like 10 rounders because they make things neater when loading from boxed ammo. I don't go out of my way to buy them but if they come with the gun I relegate them to range mags.
>>65141019I'm going to get the one from Beretta. It costs more but they're giving me free money so whatever.https://www.beretta.com/en-us/product/beretta-px4-assembled-safety-lever-type-92fs-r-p--C8A000

>>65141034I feel that too sometimes

>>65141045Oh for fucks sake, wrong pic not related.....pic meant to post this
>>65141001My endgame is to be able to ousthoot guys with a rifle with my pistol. That way I can run awp.
>>65140963Idk maybe a p220 in 30, do you already have a Luger?Question, do you know if there's a list anywhere of guns that take Glock rear sights? I'm interested if there's guns other than Glock clones like rxm, dagger.
>>65141038BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
>>65140605>>65140701>>65140639So where is the No-front-rail frame?Special order from Germany?It doesn't exist as a spare part-accessory on HKUSA's website.
>>65141060I would also like to see that, and it will be coming.
>>65141018That's good>>65141054>LugerHuh duh that seems pretty obvious now. Will investigateidk about a list but there are several. Walther PDP cums to mind, Taurus G3 uhhh there's another glaring one that I can't recollect
This is a long shot, but has anyone watched this video? I'm trying to understand what his point is, but after 15 minutes of listing to him ramble about magazines and holsters and attachments I have no idea what's going on.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVGr4ZX0LnY

>>65141198lemme guess, all the other corpses are scared of you?
>>65141180Not yet, but soon. Not the model you think though. I guess I’m paranoid from all the over tightened thumbscrew light issues from various pistols. I prefer a single accessory slot. Makes A model surefires a breeze. I guess the p2000 might be a good model, but I’ve got my eyes set on a P9S. The hk4 would be cool too but the P9S incorporates most of what the hk4 offers but in 9mm and a better method of operation

I remember years ago Burt helping me find a B76 because I desperately wanted one but I was not in a great place financially at the time so I didn't nab it. Now they're far more expensive. If there's a gun you want that's no longer in production, just buy it. Don't be like me
>>65141239Facing this issue now. Problem is that there are two of them. There might also be a third. The cost would put me easily close to 5k out of pocket.
>>65141239Years ago my buddy offered to sell me his Steyr M357 for $400, I didn't have it at the time and now they're crazy rare. He could easily get a grand for it.
>>65141212Shhhhhhh. To confirm it’s me, I’m going to say “I am bonequest” on my other trip. You can search in the archives of my other trip later to confirm it’s me. Obviously, don’t hop back on the gen. It really sucked to hear that browsing that gen really bothered you
>>65141260welcome to /hg/ :pim lookin at gun parts like usual, also deeply considering a fn510
>>65141088Basically the ugly version of Elliot Rodger decides to culturally appropriate Beretta culture (our culture is not a costume) and makes observations about the 92 that people have known for a long time. What he says:>The 92 has less malfunctions that glocks in normal environments >The 92 has slightly more or the same number of malfunctions as glocks in dusty/muddy environments >The 92's aftermarket and accessories are decent, not bad enough for Glock's large aftermakrt to be a big deciding factor>92's are not much more expensive than Glock, especially after the price of parts he would change out on his Glocks.>92's have better triggers than glocks and shoot flatter due to their weight.
>>65141289I'm glad every asshole gets to make his mundane opinion heard.
Which handgun should I post
>>65141266>im lookin at gun parts like usualSounds comfy. Did you ever hit the range today or is it still raining over there?>also deeply considering a fn510You do like your euroguns (Yes, I know the FN510 is made/sold thru FN America but still)

is it true the P22 is a cheap janky piece of shit that isn't even made by Walther and they just sold out their brand?I want a P99 but I can't find any around and I was going to cope with the P22 but then I read they're nothing alike in terms of quality
>>65142319Nta probably rack the slide
>>65142387Are you just looking for a 22 semi or are you trying to add a Walther to your collection?
>>65142319I don't get light strikes with most reputable target ammo I buy. Additionally in a high stress environment most people eject a round that doesn't go bang as its faster to just do that than see if its a real dud or worse a potential squib load.
>>65142427just p99 cope
Recently got a Taurus G3C for conceal carry. They're compatible with Glock sights, so I'm looking to buy some tritium night sights for it. What are some good options out there?

How do I find the motivation to go to the range? Nearest one to me is an indoor range that charges by the hour and is overpriced. Otherwise there are a couple of outdoor ranges that are owned by clubs and you need a membership. Then there is an outdoor range run by my state you need to buy a range pass for. But it shuts down around Thanksgiving for the winter and is often times closed when it rains because the range officers don't want to be in the rain. Given where I live we always have rain or it is getting ready to rain.
>>65141060I don't get why they're even fucking us around with that. They built the gun with a modular frame on purpose, give us both grip frame options.
>>65142553I think to myself>I want to train>I want to test out this new gun>I want to try this new technique/Drill>I want to make sure my gym time is translating to better grip strength>I had a shitty week, a little extra money, and I want to decompress with something else other than anime, manga, or vidya>I successfully invited someone to come shoot with meA lot of reasons really
>>65142553How often do you normally go? Is this a situation where you need motivation to start or keep going?
That VP9CC looks tempting>HK's micro 9 offering>OR>VP9 trigger>Made in Oberndorf am Neckar, DeutschlandNot sure about MSRP and mag ptices but it's HK, we all know the drill
>>65142575I'm looking at 1k USD, which is more than what I paid for my USP.
>>65142578Yeah I had to pay covid tax 6 years ago for my USP45 which meant paying over 1k but my recent USP 40 was around $786 total, so yeah, ouch.Would rather pick up a 43x MOS and get me some 15 round mags
>>65142582In order to compete with the other micro compacts It would have to be 700ish. A 43X COA is 800 right now. The VP9CC with optic out of the box is a Vortex for 1150...
Would rather carry a Kimber than an HK DESU
So Magtech 9mm steelcase is singlehandedly forcing the price floor closer to 20 cpr again. Is this Brazilian made stuff or stuff from their Oklahoma plant? Sure seems to be a decent amount that hasn't been gone through in days.

>>65142570I wanted to start going to the range again to get into pistol bullseye shooting. But I went to the range last week or maybe the week before now and when they told me they were only doing hour times now I just shrugged my shoulders and walked out. >>65142571I haven't been to the range in three to four years now. Covid kinda killed it for me. Before that I would go to the range at least once a month, to maybe every other month. Also doesn't help I have nobody to go with. My Dad and brother both live kinda far away and in opposite directions. My brother it is like pulling teeth to get him to go to any activity. My Dad runs his own business and is pretty much always busy outside of winter. I have a friend that lives in my old town, but it is almost two hours away and he is addicted to just working and going out to bars afterward for like 5+ years now. I am really thinking firearms isn't the hobby for me anymore.
>>65142641Do you have other hobbies? It's one thing to lose interest in a hobby after a while but if you're just losing motivation to do anything you should probably change things in your environment.
>>65142629The 15 round magazine is what kills it for me. I'd wait to buy one used for like $900 tops, but the fact that it uses a proprietary mag with "poor" (by <current year> standards) round count is just one reason too many against it for me.
>>65142660Nigga, it’s identical to size with the Glock 19 which is also a 15 round mag.
A few years ago I filled out a survey for what new products did I want Wilson Combat to make. Apparently a hammer fired Glock 19 won, and none of you NIGGERS want one
>>65142673That's why gun companies need to be upfront about how much a gun design may cost before they release a 1500 dollar gun that's supposed to compete with a 500 dollar gun.
>>65142687It competes in the luxury carry handgun market, versus staccatos (2.5k), Wilson’s own EDC9 (2.7k), misc 2011s, LTT 92/PX4, Shadow 2 carry, souped up Glocks etc
>>65142698At 15 rounds though it comes off as an ugly duckling, I'd expect 17 round capacity or mec gar glock mag compatibility if they want the staccato audience.
>>65142709Did you know the Staccato HD C3.6 which is also Glock 19 sized, uses 15 round Glock 19 mags?
>>65142716He very clearly stipulated >or mec gar glock mag compatibility
>>65142736Yeah it’s a stupid decision to not use Glock mags but this capacity shit is fucking retarded when normal Glock 19s have 15 rounds.
>>65142387It's not a POS but they're nothing alike in terms of quality. But they're okay .22s if you don't overpay. It's a <$200 gun with a $350 price tag. Also like anon said P99s abound, old and new. Put the Final Edition SKU into gun.deals and find something with cheap shipping, unless you're actually not American>>65142475I'm not aware of any bad manufacturers of tritium sights, the regulation is too overbearing to tolerate fly by nights. Just the cheapest version of the design you like and buy itThe only standout is Night Fission which has the brightest vials, everything else is the same. In fact most vials are made by Trijicon even from other brandsOld data in pic related, probably more have gone out of business or stopped local production to use Trij vials by now>>65142553That's tough. I don't think there's an answer from without, in my experience the motivation has to come from within. I've had periods of years where I just didn't want to go through the hassle. In the winter I hardly go. For me, I just get the bug, get that eureka moment of YES! I need to shoot that, gonna do it, and go do itA new gun helps for awhile :)A very good local range helps long term, one with few rules, few people, low fees and is nearby. It's a luxury many are not blessed with because of draconian regulation where libtards congregate>>65142629I didn't even buy a DWX and that is far more interesting and sexy than that absolute piece

>>65142350Holy shit, I should watch Miami Vice. Only Miami Vice I've seen is picrel, and I do like it.

>>65142850you're talking to two people who can only aford a HiPoints.VP9 is fine and will do the job without any issues but in the end it's like a glock, the difference is you can find glocks for dirt cheap with the police trade in. also the VP9 has more features than a standard glock, you can also consider the P30 if you prefer with an hammer instead of striker handguns
>>65142850There isn't a 9mm on the market worse than the vp9 and that's before you take price into account. It gets mogged to death by whatever shit taurus is putting out

>>65142874In the youtube video where they announced it they mention the P320's uncommanded discharge problem. So it's kind of a fudd thing (they are 1911 guys after all) and a market overcorrection where they care/boast about safety morow. It's neat as a peace of mind feature for holstering since the internal hammer means you can't thumb a hammer in place, but the fact that it's a hammer gun with a firing pin block already puts it miles ahead safetywise of the P320.
>>65141297The wonder of YouTube >>65141448Yeah I had to watch it at 1.5X speed to tolerate it, still felt like a waste of time
>>65142743Yeah, a gun you can get for about a thousand less than this.
>>65140800I remember a while back they had a video whining about how they had made no profit from the channel after driving and flying so much to film/paying the editor and about how much work it was (despite getting tons of free product, sponsors, and patreon subscriptions). They said they were going to have to charge companies a production cost just to break even lmao. At best they're grossly incompetent at managing finances and at worst they are some of the slimiest shills there are (or both).
>>65142475I have Trijicon Bright & Tough [pictured] for Glock but don't recommend them because they're aluminium in spite of being more expensive than the OEM night sights which are steel. Hi + lo vis hybrids like the TFX Pro might be better but those aren't really a budget option and would make less sense than financing a pistol opticIllegals should go back to their countries
>>65140605How does /k like the VP9? I’ve never shot one but I’ve fingered them at shops many times and it felt amazing in my hand. Fit my grip well and felt good to dry fire.
>>65143005The ergonomic grip is an illusionary benefit that doesn't do much for shootability but does wonders for moving units in stores. The trigger is fine, no complaints there. The spring is MASSIVELY oversprung making the pistol feel super snappy for no reason which really brings it down. I ended up selling mine after trying multiple times to make it work for me
>>65143016I agree ergonomics can be deceiving. I sit a friends Walther PPQ and the ergonomics were uncomfortable. But the VP9 felt much different. Though it may be different from hand to hand.
The night fission rear sight has a set screw in the middle that sticks up and obstructs the front sight on my sig. Is that set screw needed or can I just take it out? Its already tight Why do metal iron sights have set screws and plastic ones dont
>>65143047you can take the set screw out, but it’s probably going to moveare you sure the set screw is biting on the slide of the gun? It shouldn’t be proud of the sightsplastic ones can get away with no set screw because they can be press-fit in the steel dovetail

>>65143234Better to buy one nice gun than several not-so-nice guns, but that’s just me. I don’t particularly understand the mindset of buying a bunch of guns instead of just one or two, max, depending on caliber needs/wants.
>>65143246I’m willing to pay enough to avoid a turkshit knock off, but I’m not paying premium prices for a Gucci gun that does the same thing as a mid tier gun hand the price. Plus I’m not super dedicated to guns as a hobby, so I can’t really justify spending a months rent on a safe filler
>>65143278>all guns same>all guns go pow powYeah, you’re right, you aren’t really a hobbyist. Just get whatever looks the coolest in your budget.
>>65143292Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but yeah, coolness and larp factor from popular movies is a factor in my decisions making process. Any generic Glock clone striker fired pistol over $500 will cover 99% of functionality requirements, so no need to split hairs and ridiculous prices.
>>65143278Tanfos aren’t Gucci guns by any stretch unless you get their competition pistols. If you’re getting a competition pistol, you aren’t asking here for advice. In that price bracket, they’re a solid choice. Their entry-level Gucci shit are the Xtremes followed by Master followed by actual Gucci Master Xtreme. It’s the CZ model of competition pricing (CZ 75 to Shadow to TS). But, then again, that’s all competition marksmanship pistols. If you’re into that sort of thing, you aren’t asking here for advice as a general rule. I believe the only competitors in this thread that regularly compete are the Glock brigade in their own tournaments. Which is an option and is always fun.

>>65143174The Springfield's new shortened hi power variant is an interesting offer.
>>65143174Neither.
>>65143308No, I’m dead serious. If you aren’t really a hobbyist then you should just get whatever you think is the coolest because that’s what you’ll be happiest with. It’s like >>65143316 implied, once you get into this shit then your priorities change a great deal depending on what you value. I value accuracy above all else, so I like Tanfoglio because I shoot straighter with one than CZ (and got into all this because I thought CZ75s were cool and found Tanfoglio as a clone due to being in Texas and close to a distributor). I haven’t wanted to purchase another pistol since buying my Tanfoglio. There’s no need, but I only want to be accurate. I don’t want to LARP around and have a carry piece to take innawoods or have a truck gun. If I DID want to LARP around innawoods, I would get a Stock II because I know it’s highly accurate and can withstand stupid amounts of rounds being fired without failure over the course of a day coupled with being a fucking brick which I personally like. I’m not fond of polymer pistols and lightweight blasters, but that’s my personal shooting style. But I don’t care about that, so I wouldn’t buy one. I don’t need it. If I buy something else, it’ll be some Gucci shit like a FK BRNO field pistol or Manurhin or meme custom 1911 because I think that’s cool.
10 @15yds, ehh shooting day, done better done worse. Finally told the chick I'm talking to about my autistic interest in guns, reloading, and long range shooting and she thought it was cool. Maybe we are gunna make it
If I wanted to get into competitive shooting, which one should I pick and which gun would I need?
>>65143174get a Grand Power
>>65143358Find out what type of competition you’re most interested in. Look at who is winning those competitions and see what they shoot. Finger fuck those guns at a gun shop and get what fits your mitts the best. You might not be able to finger fuck those exact guns, but you should be able to finger fuck a gun that has the same frame excepting tanfos because they’re too niche unless you get lucky. Competition pistols can come from the factory with the competition parts, but they are also sold in abundance so don’t fret over the parts since if you’re serious about competition you’ll know the pistol inside and out and eventually figure out what to replace with what as you git gud.
>>65143350>NO RAPID FIRE
>>65143358The easiest way to get your foot in the door in competitive shooting is probably Steel Challenge. You only need a gun and a holster and some magazines, and some places might just let you shoot from gun-on-table and forego the holster. Some divisions also don't require holsters, such as the rimfire ones. What gun to get depends on the division you intend to shoot, but you should just attend with whatever gun you have and shoot that division where it's legal. You're not going to be good enough at the start for gear to really matter. If you really care, though, I'd say the meta for Carry Optics (the largest division) is mostly Shadows/Glocks/XFive Legions, with a smattering of Walthers and maybe a Beretta. It varies by region, though. If you don't want to only shoot Steel Challenge, most large shooting clubs will also have an intro to USPSA class every month or so, so just ask around for that. Your local club might have a profile up on Practiscore where the schedule should be posted.
>>65143398The range jew charges extra for the rapid fire lanes.
>>65143358Literally any gun, there is a lot of competitions and some not anal about rules other than safety. Some guns are easier to shoot than others, but you might learn a lot more from shooting a carry or duty type gun versus a Staccato XC. At my local chill competition, it might have been my fault for creating a 2011 arms race where I beat people with my 1911 and my PX4 and now suddenly everyone is shooting compensated 2011s.
>>65143403Grim!
>>65143406Kinda depends. There’s a lot of cops around me and their departments all get Staccato deals. They just shoot their duty piece and do very well, but it’s not the XC. I believe they all have the HD. Some of them have tweaked it out. Staccato is a scam of the highest order, though. They get the “thin blue line” and sheepdog types by selling quality guns for stupid cheap to police/sheriff’s departments and making up the difference selling to civilians at a hilarious markup. It’s 100% not worth it as a competition pistol since you can get objectively better performance for thousands less.
>>65143210They're two totally disparate guns. Almost could not be more different. Why not decide what type, weight, size and price of gun you want first and then which model?
>>65143422>selling quality guns for stupid cheap to police/sheriff’s departments and making up the difference selling to civilians at a hilarious markup
>>65143433HK might have been the teacher, but the pupil has surpassed the master. The civilian markup for a staccato is 600%, minimum.

>>65143446Yes, it was done by Glock, S&W, Sig, basically everyone did and is still doing this

>>65142773As someone with a VP9, APX (original), P320 (M17), two Glock 19s (Gen 5, and Gen 4), two Glock 17s (Gen 5 and Classic), M&P40 and a Walther PDP compact, I would say that they rank from best to worst>Glock 19 Gen 5>Glock 19 Gen 4>Glock 17 Gen 5>VP9>PDP Compact>M17>Glock 17 Classic>APX>MP40The VP9 is great but I think the PDP will probably outrank it the more I practice with it Of course the 92FS, USP, and P226 shit on all these in my opinion

The only LEOs I've met that were any good at shooting were all prior military.
>>651435552011s have the same problem with thick lube as a 1911 but even worse: if it’s thick it causes failures since the bits don’t play nice with each other but you don’t have the extra gas a .45 produces. It’s why “hand-fitted” became a thing amongst 1911 fans and why those pistols now cost an arm and a leg, the parts don’t play nice with each other at all unless they’re hand-fitted. Any off-the-shelf 2011 will have failures, if you use thick lube then those failure increase exponentially thanks to the cum lube being thick. You have to actually think about how you lube those things rather than just blasting it with jizz.
