I bought a M249s, did i fuck up? Or will FRT's save me?

>He didn't get a Negev kit
lmao, what a cuck.

>Or will FRT's
Fucking up apostrophes is a massive red-flag for stupidity or poorly-addressed childhood reading disorders. They're not just a fashion accessory for the letter S; take three minutes to learn how they work.

Brown hands typed this.

Post it, fag. I think someone's working on an FRT for one, so you should have a pretty fun bullet hose once it comes out.

I'm doing you a favor, anon. Apostrophes are super, super easy, and knowing how they work will prevent you from looking like a fucking retard when you write important emails.

You're obviously too stupid to know I was talking about OP and not you.

OP here. I honestly appreciate the info. I am indeed guilty of adding an apostrophe to things that don't need it.

Not in yet chief. Monday hopefully.

Apparently an FRT for the M249S is already commercially available, though for a frankly ridiculous price. I also recall there being a different FRT for it being in the works.
That said, don't expect the level of reliability or capacity for sustained fire a real M249 has. The action of the M249S is mechanically different and is closed bolt rather than open bolt. For all you know, it could turn out to be a jam-o-matic once you start feeding belts through it. Hell, from combat footage I've seen some actual M249s already have so many malfs that they're basically bolt actions.

when you get around to buying ammo, you should probably be careful as most linked ammo will probably be very hot. it's not a big deal if you are firing auto or burst but that semi will shoot fireballs and beat the shit out of the recoil spring/buffer

There's been a number of these converted to closed bolt MG's by SOT's and the results are suprising.

>Better short burst/initial burst accuracy than the open bolt and slightly better overall grouping
>Trigger is better
>Closed bolt opens up opportunities to dampen recoil and reduce reciever wear by fucking with buffer and mainspring, also still accepts older pre-PIP M249 and Minimi barrels with adjustable gas regulators

Big oof time though
>There's 4 different M249 FRT projects out there!
>All of them right now have a really low RoF, 600s
>>
>>65141368
>really low RoF
not necissarily a bad thing, and considering the originals were aroung 750 rpm im not suprised a version thats closed bolt and tuned for an frt is a bit slower
and AR frts have shown me that cyclic speed is not that difficult to adjust anyways, it mainly just seems a matter of changing the weight of the bolt, spring strength, etc.
you might not be able to do these things on your own, but someone with money for a SAW will have money to have a gunsmith get it done

Here is a good resource.
