In an Alternative history where the week before the Beslan School siege the United States and Russian Federation sign a Special Operations Cooperation pact.
USSOCOM assists fighting Chechens and Spetsnaz assists in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Upon the Seizure of the school United States Army Delta Force arrives on scene and has full command of the Operation, how does the Beslan School siege play out differently?

A lot of the problems with Beslan to begin with is that you have army, air force, federal and peasant militia all refusing to concede authority or communicate to one another. Hell I would not be surprised if the navy wanted to take charge and sail a typhoon up the Terek somehow. You are just adding even more layers to the clusterfuck so you are probably making it only worse and just giving the Russians a scapegoat for their fuck up.

they call for danger close air support and drop a few jdams on the school

They aren't muhreens.

Probably about the same. Delta might have used M141s to deal with the MG nests rather than use tanks, and they may have had access to IED jammers by that point (not sure if they had anything, IEDs were a post-05 thing. Bongs had IED jammers in North Ireland in the 90s, but idk if that had cross pollinated to the US by 2004); which could have significantly reduced casualties from the rigged explosives; but then at least some of them were wired. But unless there was a US blocking force controlling the scene in place of local police, you're still going to angry parents charging in and causing chaos.

Russians get in their way and ruin it, scores die and the operation is considered a failure.

No I know about the school massacre a bit but the whole 20 different forces vying for control over the operation is something I'd like to know about

The VDV part just hits different these days.

I've always loved this image but always annoyed that the bullet casings are in the 'aftermath' image BAR the JTF-2 one. The casings should be in the 'aftermath' after they have 'finished'. Also where is SRR or E Squadron (this one shouldn't be known about but it got leaked by accident lmao).

Changes quite literally nothing
Bombs go off
Everyone inside dies

Dunno what VDV are up to these days anyway. I dunno if there is any VDV left or if they are 'VDV' (i.e, random scrubs put into the unit to pretend it exists).

Blyat!

There was a greentext that I am trying to locate that had a pretty good breakdown of why it was such a shitshow but in case I can't find out here is the summary I remember.
>Terrorists take over school
>Police call army for backup
>Army decide to take charge and call in air force for backup
>Air force shows up and say they are better suited to handle this and should take charge
>Army says fuck off no we are in charge
>FSB then shows up and says they are in charge
>Collective fuck you no you aren't
>Each group then sets up its own command centre and refuse to talk to one another
>Parents get distressed that it is turning into a shitshow go grab their guns and form their own citizen militia refusing to listen to any authority
>Press shows up asking who is in charge to which everyone goes "I am!"
>Beslan happens with tanks using HE-Frag and infantry using thermobaric weapons to breach the building, parents charging across the field like its Stalingrad and children who escape in the panic getting cut down in the crossfire, with terrorists who manage to escape into town getting chased down by gunships who don't care about collateral damage
Probably a few things haven't got right but this is the just.

And then it somehow sinks and irradiates the whole area. Because Russian navy.
