How easy is it to convert the 1911 to full auto? Between this and the Dillinger special in .38 super converted by Texas gunsmith Hyman Lehman, what has to be done to the trigger to do this? Was the cyclic rate adjustable or just let a rip?

>>65145378Set the firing pin in the slide with maximum stickout - then put a teeny blob of MIG weld behind it to hold it there. Reassemble the weapon as normal except leave out the trigger, safety, grip safety, hammer and main spring. Insert full magazine and rack slide then release it.

This is the kind of thing you'd be doing when making an all new machinepistol design from the ground up.Semi-automatic pistol actions cycle really quickly, which is why machinepistols are generally little BRRRRRT monsters.
