Are you team Clockwork or team Pulley, /k/?
They should try making "hyper burst" rifle again.

As cool as it is, the entire goal of these programs in the 20th century was to increase soldier hit probability by a meaningful margin, and the weapons simply didn't. They did extraordinarily detailed tests with all kinds of electronic scoring systems for the ACR program (which included the G11), and none of the weapons significantly increased hit probability in real-world analogue scenarios.

What DID actually significantly increase soldier hit probability was red dot and holographic sights, which is why so much of the industry has focused on optics and ways to mount optics over the past 20 years.

I mean just look at the testing they did for the ACR program in this video. If *this* amount of detailed testing doesn't tell you that the burst rifle concept simply isn't viable then nothing else will.

Team Pulley. Something that I've never come across is what the load out for a G11 would actually look like. How do you even carry spare mags for the thing besides the two that are on the gun? In some kind of quiver? It seems ludicrously impractical.

You had your 3 mags, plus a rucksack full of 15 round clips. As far as I know mag pouches were never on the table.

They're stick mags, they're not the most complicated thing to carry, plus germany probably still had a fuck ton of stick mag carriers for their MP40s

didn't the g11 have a 1/4x scope?
>>
>>65146709
I think youre underestimating how long G11 mags are, theyre 2/3s the length of the gun; somewhere in the realm of 18-20 inches. That isnt just going to slot into old SMG pouches.

So you go through your 3 mags, then you reload each magazine after that with 3 separate chargers.

With each trigger pull firing 3 rounds, that means you have to reload every 15 "shots". That's pretty obnoxious, I'd be tempted to just use it in single shot the entire time.

Can you believe there's people who still think that not only was it a mistake to abandon hyperburst as a concept, but that the G11 was a miracle weapon?

Two gast guns, one trigger. Fits in a guitar case. Pointable. Bayonet included.

You reload your three mags with a total of 9 pre-filled loading units.
This gives you a total of 135 ready rounds in 3 magazines, all three of which are on the gun itself.
That's pretty fucking convenient.
Keep in mind for a regular M4/M16 to have the same amount of rounds you would need to carry 5-7 magazines (depending if they're 30 or 20 rounders), and you fill those via 10 round stripper clips so it takes about 4 clips to fill a mag each, just the same as the G11.
And you somehow have to fit said magazines on your body, as they don't fit on the gun itself.

3 clips to fill a mag, whoops.
