My holster scratches my strikerslop guns when I draw. I'll just cope and say it's patina.
>>
fuckin pissed. extractor popped out at the range and I couldn't find it or the spring. Already sent a repair request to Walther. Anyone have experience sending guns back to them?
>>
Holster question:
What do if gas pedal? I haven't found a single customizable holster (gonna go with falco) with options for an aftermarket pedal. Would I need to fuck with it on my workbench after getting it?

Cope? It proves that you actually shoot. Unless you're sitting at home jerking off a holstered pistol lol.

Bidding early on online auctions is foolish. The only bids that matter are those placed seconds before the auction ends or when auto extend would kick in, everything else just drives up the final price. If you actually want something set an alarm near the end time and watch it like a hawk.

Although sometimes an item is so niche that you're literally the only autist who cares about it, so it really doesn't matter if you had just placed an initial bid and forgot.

what you want is the TISAS 1911A1 Govt model.
https://palmettostatearmory.com/sds-1911-government-45-acp-5-7rd-pistol-parkerized-1911atgovt.html

Honestly. 1911A1s aren't my favorite thing, I don't like the sights, I don't like the beavertail, I prefer a flat mainspring housing, I prefer an undercut of the trigger guard, I like a bigger safety, I like a longer trigger shoe, and so on, which comes out to more modern models like my Nighthawk PREDATOR. There's a billion 1911 variations to cater to the needs of of different people. But I do have a 1918 1911 and it's sick to have, the internals are so worn out it's not safe to load though (doesn't pass safety checks).

The rest of his post:

To get even more granular, the coefficient variation of things like our hands is only 5-10%. Limb lengthslike 4-8%. What does this mean? It means we are all capable of driving the same vehicles, performing the same tasks, often with minimal adjustments from the factory. Heck, we all use the same sized keyboards and mice and smartphones to go about our day.

So, why has the idea that all of us are different become so prevalentin the firearms industry? My answer: because most people doing the education are lazy and lack confidence in what they know. It's easy to tell someone "it depends. Everyone is different. Do what works for you bro." But is that actually helpful? Does that actually set the person up for success? Does that actually give them something to work towards? No. It's a cop out.

If a person has the experience, the wherewithal, and the ability to explain - they should tell people HOW to do it. They should seek out the best possible technique and share it. Telling someone why tea-cup gripping is lame and how to grip a pistol better is way more helpful than telling them to try everything and to "figure it out yourself".

There's a reason the top shooters and instructors in this industry settle on very similar techniques and equipment for performing at a high level. How is this possible? We are all built the same anatomically - in God's image. How we brace for recoil, hold a rifle, press the trigger, see our sight pictures, process information - is all the same. Only until you reach the top 95% will you see slight variation in technique, and even then - we're talking mere 1% differences in capability down range.

The TLDR is: Some techniques and equipment are just better. They put out better times, better hits, more consistency, and don’t care about people’s boomer/brovet war stories. “Just do what works for you bro” be damned.

Wilson 47D
Wilson ETM
Chip power mag
Tripp research

Etc

All make 8 round mags. You don’t want one that’s the same length as an 8 rounder, they’re less reliable since the follower/spring is inferior. The Wilson ETM and other mags that extend the body are more reliable. Plus they sit flush with a Magwell better.

Ebay, Shopgoodwill, Auctioneer Pro, Yahoo Japan Auctions, Mandarake Auctions. Nothing super niche. The real problem for bidding early is that you're raising the "second-bid", because basically all web auction sites use a "second-price + minimum bid increment" system.

Say Chris and Sam are bidding on something, Chris has a $100 budget and Sam $200. Chris puts $10 down to meet the reserve. Sam desides to start a bidding war now. Chris has time to make counter bids, but eventually Sam will just bid $101 and will have "won" the auction regardless of how much time is actually left.

Now, most people don't enter the maximum price they'd be willing to spend on something for their first bid. I don't know nor care to learn the psychology behind it, it's just how it is. This means (assuming no auto-extend) Sam could bid $101 a second before the auction ends and likely end up paying $11, as a "second price + minimum bid increment" total. So the real game theory for auctions is to place your max bid in the final seconds as a sniper. If it's a particularly rare item you can have a classic last-second bid war with the other sniper enthusiast but it's all over pretty quick.

Even for auto-extend sites most people aren't invested enough to watch an auction page as it ends, so your only competition is other people equally determined to own that specific thing. I've never seen an auto-extend war last longer than an hour though, those are normally equally determined enthusiasts fighting and that bank-account-measuring match usually gets settled within half an hour max.

If you take nothing else from this, if you see your grail pop up then set a fucking timer to be there at the end. You won't realize how much you're willing to spend on your white whale until you're five seconds away and the thought of losing your dream gun/merch/etc pushes you to start thinking about how long you're willing to eat beans and rice for. Every collector has that one thing they want that bad.

As far as I can tell, these have a simple ejector rod that isn't hollow and doesn't lock into the barrel.
It should just be a solid rod that's threaded in one end, so no special trickery required to shorten it.

But taking the ejector assembly apart can be a pain in the ass on a lot of revolvers.
NEVER try to unscrew the ejector rod without having ammo, dummies, or spent cases in the chambers, you'll break shit.
And keep in mind that ejector rods are often left-hand threaded.

And when ejector rods get this short, they don't really work well for ejecting spent cases. It'll pop 'em loose, sure, but you'll probably have to pull each one out by hand.
