Is having to use go and no-go gauges on your AK out of reallistic fear it will kaboom not direct evidence AKs suck balls? Or is it just slavic manufacturing that sucks massive balls and the odds of an out of spec chamber is far more than 0 than it should be? Also why has an american company never been able to make an AK that lasts for more than a few thousand rounds without shitting the bed?
If it feeds, it yeets.
>>65150787Do you know nothing of AKs? A lot of the shitty ones are built here from kits stateside. Most government made ones are highly sought after, but have had import ban after import ban to contend with. Hence the parts kit builds.
>>65150787uhhhh i use go and no go guages when i build uppers for ar15s too
>>65151392>when i build uppersDo you make your own barrels?
>>65151398Do you trust a $10/hour machinist?
>>65151404What barrels are you buying that are made by poor brownoids, do better
>>65151398no. but a set of gauges from midway twenty years ago was like 20 bucks so i figured why not
>>65151411>he doesn't knowLolLmao
>>65150787headspacing is important, anon. I build on parts kits that dont have a barrel or have a shot out one so headspacing is important for intial barrel placement and drilling. as for go-no go gauges i just use the poor's trick of live round then live round with two layers of painters tape
>>65150787>realistic fearFor factory AKs, no.For your own kit builds, yes. You could argue to use them for any kit build but it would depend on the builder if you trust them or not.Its less "out of spec parts" and more "out of spec assembly".American mass manufacturers of AKs hire the cheapest labor possible to assemble AKs so that's a big part why they frequently suck.
>>65150787Isn't that normal though? I recall M2s had to be regularly headspaced (armorer level, not by me), and I dont think anybody is claiming they're bad guns.
