Is the future of tanks going to be robotic?
>>
Yes. Just like the future of infantry.

Left looks like one of those French interwar proposals.

How vulnerable are they to EW?

There will be unmanned system screening and assisting the manned 'command' vehicle, this will range from weapons and ECM carriers to sensor pickets, fuel and ammo carriers, etc.
It will include UGVs carrying UAVs, and it will just be the next turning of the wheel in the eternal shifting between positional and warfare and war of movement.

And I have a vague sense that there are some people in Ukraine, Germany and Poland who really want to be the ones with the moving drone circus.
Baltics and Finns, too.

Now that I typed that, holy fuck. The Russians have managed to create a scenario that will see Baltics and Finns with German robo tanks.
Poles will get the Korean ones.

Shit man, how do you even fuck up this badly.

they'll secretly put a dudes head in there after the ai fucks up too many times because an LLM cant figure out why it would want to win a war

Imagine a modern mechanical turk, a conventional tank shrunk down to be crewed by midgets.

What if someone made a microdrone that snips optic fiber?

Fund it. It would slap so incredibly fucking hard.

it's practical and disappointing

That's already true.

The fibre reel?
It probably weighs about 2kg depending on how much fibre is left in it, I wouldn't want to get bonked by it from altitude but if you're wearing a good ballistic helmet then it might not hurt too much.
OHSA applies to the battlefield too.
Well, it literally doesn't but troops are trained and should act as though it does.

I think they will be Optionally Manned for a while so you can test unmanned systems at scale without being fucked if an EW counter is fielded.

>>65151168
Terrible idea, fibre is extremely weak and they will get run over.

There's footage somewhere of an unarmed UGV doing donuts on the fibre of a loitering FPV to break it and defeat the FPV.
>>
>>65152021
just daisy chain the fibre optic with a drone to keep it off the ground
