Just remote control a phalanx of sea drones to clear a path through the strait. Literally what's the issue?
>>65151107We don't have those drones. The problems with current wars are not just "this is new tech we need to develop new weapons to tackle", it is also "we have not been spending on defence for decades and we don't have adequate weapons even to defeat large last-gen armies">cough NATO cough
>>65151107Ah yes, a scholar from the Robert McNamara strategy institute.
>>65151138Ah yes, a veteran from the WW1 minesweeping fleetthank you for your cervix, semper fido
>>65151116>NATOWhat does NATO have to dio with this? The US moved its last few minesweepers AWAY from the Gulf right before starting an operation that hada high chance to see mines deployed in the strait. If the US had wanted NATO support they would surely have asked for it, informed their alllies of the operation, coordinated and pre-deployed those assets, etc.?
>>65151138What's this a reference to?
>>65151269You made a sound point anon, but the other anon was trying to get at was the state of the west, and the sentiment of it's leaders/culture/whatever towarsd their militaries, fighting wars, etc. resulted in where it is.Basically, we have optimised our militaries to fight insurgents and pirates/ to maintain a low intensity conflict for long/indefiniate periods of time, not other armies for a few years/ to sustain high intensity conflicts for shorter periods of time.
>>65151282
>>65151269>startingIsrael started it and America scrambled to help; if they'd had advance notice they'd likely have kept the minesweepers on hand instead of scrapping them. (And probably tried to talk Israel out of doing something so retarded.)
>>65151282MacNamara's misfits. During the Vietnam War the defense secretary found out that by lowering the bar on military recruitment he could find a hundred thousand soldiers the US needed for the war.Except they made terrible soldiers and died at a much higher rate than regular recruits.
>>65151326You think the US/Iran war is a high intensity conflict?
>>65151768>(And probably tried to talk Israel out of doing something so retarded.)X for doubt my friend. What we (imo) see here is a case of Israel taking advantage of Trump who high of the venezuelan bullshit thought he could just helpt Israel kill the iranian leadership and it would just crumble, allowing him to install a puppet and get oil. This was no rush, it was planned, now it sure as hell didn't work out as Trump thought it would (mostly for him) but it was planned. Israel still got a weakened Iran and gets to landgrab lebanon though, but they probably didn't expect getting shot at either.
>>65151107It's more of a Zhukov strategy.
It will go down in US history as the start of la centura de humiliacion. Think before you vote.
>>65151326don't bother replying to turdie trolls
>>65151107things would be a lot simpler if the Americans for once in their life can spit out the cock of Israel, but unfortuntely they can't
Unironically try to get the UAE to build a Panama Canal through their territory and just bypass the bullshit that is dealing with Iran. Those gulf arabs love extravagant projects and the west loves money laundering. Sell them a bunch of images of riverfront luxury apartments while luxurious cruise ships go through. With modern technology + their willingness to use slave labor we could have it done in 5 years tops. Cut out Iran as a middleman and let the UAE + Oman get a bit of toll tax and you help further isolate Iran.
>>65152900It's the problem with being a feminized society. Russia and America are fully feminized, Europe is only half-feminized.
