The US moved its last few minesweepers AWAY from the Gulf right before starting an operation that hada high chance to see mines deployed in the strait.

If the US had wanted NATO support they would surely have asked for it, informed their alllies of the operation, coordinated and pre-deployed those assets, etc.?

You made a sound point anon, but the other anon was trying to get at was the state of the west, and the sentiment of it's leaders/culture/whatever towarsd their militaries, fighting wars, etc. resulted in where it is.
Basically, we have optimised our militaries to fight insurgents and pirates/ to maintain a low intensity conflict for long/indefiniate periods of time, not other armies for a few years/ to sustain high intensity conflicts for shorter periods of time.

What we (imo) see here is a case of Israel taking advantage of Trump who high of the venezuelan bullshit thought he could just helpt Israel kill the iranian leadership and it would just crumble, allowing him to install a puppet and get oil.
This was no rush, it was planned, now it sure as hell didn't work out as Trump thought it would (mostly for him) but it was planned. Israel still got a weakened Iran and gets to landgrab lebanon though, but they probably didn't expect getting shot at either.

Unironically try to get the UAE to build a Panama Canal through their territory and just bypass the bullshit that is dealing with Iran. Those gulf arabs love extravagant projects and the west loves money laundering. Sell them a bunch of images of riverfront luxury apartments while luxurious cruise ships go through. With modern technology + their willingness to use slave labor we could have it done in 5 years tops. Cut out Iran as a middleman and let the UAE + Oman get a bit of toll tax and you help further isolate Iran.
