Shields don't get enough love. Yes, we've seen lots of armies based on swords or spears but they wouldn't be the same without the humble shield. Good shields could tank an enemy all day and provide the only effective defense against arrows. Even today we have riot shields and ballistic shields. They're not much but they're enough to get within taser range of a man with 9mm and no sense.
WHERE ARE ALL OF THE OTHER ROMAN SHIELDS!? THERE SHOULD BE MILLIONS!!! HOW IS THERE ONLY ONE!?
