The point of single handed drills is to enhance your conventional shooting but you never know when it might be useful to operate the pistol without a support hand!
No other gun ever called me "operator"
I'm gonna shoot it again tomorrow and I'm so excited.
>>65156047Oh yeah? Mine calls me Istruzione
>>65156057
>>65156047how about an anon? you're such an amazing operator
Love me Ruger P89. Simple as
>>65156038The mark 3 grips that came with it look pretty similar to the pachmayr grips and have that nice thumb/finger rest on both sides, and they've been the comfiest pistol panels I've ever shot with, not that I've shot with a terribly large amount. I have played with either original or mark 2 grips on it and hated the shape and bulk. I also like bunching up my tiny fingers so I doubt I'd appreciate the grooves on the front of the pach grips. I'm excited to try it out with the new stair tape on it (that's already lifting, but whatever, I'll degrease it and reapply if I need to).
>>65156069Fuck it rotated the image
>>65156069That’s nice Burt
Anons, I've got a quandary. I've found a handgun I have wanted to buy for 20+ years but after taxes and fees it's going to be around $1500. I could maybe afford it but it would be a hit. It's from a private seller so no chance of a holiday sale or discount and I don't think I would find the gun in such an immaculate condition again. The seller is throwing in 5+ mags which are already hard to find so it seems like a pretty great deal. My question for you is: do I just fucking buy it and deal with the consequences? If so, any tips for mitigating the financial burden of this sale? Thanks for any help.
>>65156072The wraparounds would be exactly what you want. The one at my LGS looks like this. >>65156082Just buy the damn thing, sell some other shit you aren’t as interested in. See if gunstores near you do consignment or do some private sales.
Haven't carried this in years. 40F outside, perfect clothing for it. Went to the local pizzeria and back. Felt fine with the "new" light and modified shell.Eventually I'll load up some hard cast 255gr .45 Supers and it'll be for bear county.
>>65156090Those tall-ass target sights look nice. How hard is it to pop that coin out of the grip? I'd replace it with a googly eye.
>>65156093Kind of hard, they did make them without but those are vintage
>>65156069I have to get mine from my grandpa. Problem is, he's senile and thinks it's his, and is trying to give it to another grandson.
>>65156103Do you know if the backstrap portion adds bulk to the grip? I like how thin the hi power's grip feels front-to-back. It's not often I can reach all the controls on a pistol as easily as I can with it.
>>65156113I liked it a lot. I’m not a hi power guy, actually hated how people talked about them, but that one at the store makes me want to buy it. That or the SA-35 polished blue
I've wanted a USPC forever but I'm coming around on P30S aesthetics and with night sights and more comfortable ergonomics (for me) it seems like the better buy. It's also $200 cheaper new.Is this the wrong decision?
>>65156128I’ll have an example of the noncoin grips hopefully this weekend.
>>65156135Have you dry fired either of them
>>65156135If you want a full size get the USP, if you want compact get a P30 or P2000.
>>65156069My buddy has one of these that we both love but the slide is turning purple. What's up with that?
>>65156149>the slide is turning purpleThat means consumer habits are near by
>>65156069This is now a Ruger P-Series thread
>>65156077I'm not Burt but I betcha that fucker's coming
>>65156226Fuck yeah, you've got the original box too? Mine still has the bullet packaged from the factory and everything
>>65156082As long as you aren't spending your rent money, just fucking buy it. Life's too short not to have the dream gun collection your 12 year old self always wanted.
>>65156113The backstrap portion is detachable
>>65156235He's huge, burt. Pale and hairless too. Like an enormous infant
>>65156237Not him but my Ruger GP100 still has the bullet from the factory in a sealed manilla folder which is a nice touch
Is this based?
I am NOT buying a muzzleloader for #1776 don't even ask
>>65156261Buy an uberti 1851. We could have a north vs south dynamic.
>>65156261Will you buy a musket for self defense, just like the founding fathers intended?
>>65156261Are you cool with us keeping all the threads #1776 until July 4th ends kind of like we did for 1488?
Bros my state is trying to ban musket wtf
>>65156261>those chipsHey! I'm from Argentina, Burt
>>65156069Why does that look so good? The gray duotones I always thought looked the best because the polished flats on black P-pistols upset the vibe but that one is like homogeneously matte black like it's nitrided instead of blued. What tha dilly yo?>>65156082Is there a ticking clock element? If you can wait a month or three to shore up your reserves it would be less harmful innit. Or ask family for a loan lol its embarrassing but they have your back (probably)Also what gun? So's I can judge if $1,500 is worth permanently ruining your life forever over.>>65156270wtf that's like 40 threads my autism would kill me to death>>65156280Hey I love youse guys' Walther P88 copies!
>>65156270Just roll back the count 1776+XX for the week
>>65156259Some handguns aren't for everyone. It is very hard for me to determine which type of person this handgun is for.
>>65156306Handgun hunting season + they didn’t want one of the silly bolt action pistols
>>65156306It's the sort of>some brown will buy it
>>65156031Recently got an organizer thing for my increasingly eclectic shitpile of a handgun collection. Certainly better than piling them on the shelf in my locker. >>65156259I imagine the fireball would be biblical if the barrel was any shorter or if they removed that brake.
>>65156309You might be right, and then it is not based. It's just that, technically not a rifle. The shabbos handgun, skirting around some state law. Flatter shooting than 44 Magnum, but doesn't violate the necked cartridge ban. Attachment for scope, bipod, muzzle brake for less recoil, stuff hunters love. No sling mount included, as per tradition.I would like it more if Taurus just went ahead and made a handgun that is impractical, inefficient, and without a niche. You don't need a 350 Legend revolver with a muzzle brake and a light rail, but here you go anyway, because it's good at making fireballs and shooting far with flat trajectory. That would be based.
>>65156331Should have been in 350 Buck Breaker
>>65156244>>65156261He is dancing. He says that he will never die
>>65156246Is that a Ruger exclusive thing, or do other companies do that too? My only experience is with my P89, which was used when i got it
where my mateba at
>>65156294It very well could be nitrated. I don't know much of the history of it other than I got it used with the OG box, and the previous owner kept it in a safe. I take good care of it and clean it after every range visit. I've shot probably 500 or so rounds out of it since I got it about 8 months ago, with the only 2 issues being due to using mecgars.
>>65156364Almost every one of my new guns from various companies does this. Except Colt weirdly enough.
>>65156325Who makes the organizer?
>>65156405CVLife.
>>65156294It's the
USP Expert with 7 mags on guns international
>>65156428pffftttttt Hahahahah
Shooting challenge idea: 17 shots in 76 seconds. Objective: draw a circle like the circle of stars on older US Flags
>>65156237Mine didn’t come with that sadly. Got mine off of gunbroker for like $250 a few years ago. It’s my first handgun and still in the nightstand
>>65156325Those look pretty boss. How much are they for an 8 slotter?>>65156376Well it looks great dude, it has a Darth Vader vibe>>65156428Oh goodness. That's >$400 too much even if you had the money to burnhttps://www.gunbroker.com/handguns/search/completed?keywords=usp%20expert&pagesize=48&sort=4&view=2&timeframe=1
>>65156524>How much for the 8 slotter?30 bones on scamazon. There were cheaper options, but this seemed like it had the best chance of fitting guns that are on opposite ends of the bell curve for thickness and height.
>>65156524Unironically thank you as always for the level-headed take. I saw it was made the year I got into guns and came with 7 mags and I started lusting for it. I'll wait for a better deal
>>65156524>>65156591I mean admittedly the 5 extra mags would cost about $2-300 but yea that's too much money.
Just got a steyr L9A2, found one for cheap in a pawnshop and i missed the liquidation everyone did. Anyone have any idea what kind of WML fits this thing? Maybe a tlr 7? I much prefer under or flush fit lights and all my full size lights jut out way too far or have a huge gap between the trigger guard and the switches.
>>65156622Picture off the internet since 4chan doesnt like my phone pictures for some reason and wont upload them
>>65156591I'd say make a gunbroker search but the results will be flooded with 98% overpriced crap. It's gonna be hard to filter through the noise but those deals are out there, be patient and save ya bux!>>65156611The top result on the list came with 5 mags at $950, even with buying two more it would still be $460 lessThe third result at $999 had 4 mags and a TLR-1HL with mount, a $130+ add, AND had a jet funnel with compatible mags, another ~$150+ add, making it a $720 gun if including 2 mags, add another 5 mags for $225 new = $945 for the exact same thing anon was looking to pay $1,500 for.$1,500 for a Expert with 7 mags is pretty outrageous, it's possible to get a Mark 23 for less than that
new piece and probably last for a while.I haven't dropped over a 1000 on a gun in at least a year so I hope this thing works out for me
Are the post Umarex P99s actually lower quality than the original run? Those NOS final editions are tempting.
>>65156651>Umarex P99sThere is no such thing. Always been two different factories at opposite ends of Deutschland. OTOH the only centerfires that Umarex ever made at Arnsberg are the CCP and PK/PD380 (which are actually okay despite that handicap), all Walther centerfires have been made at Ulm since they rerestarted production after Manurhin in the 70s or whateverIf in doubt, look for the proofs. Antler = Ulm, triple crowns = Koln/Cologne (Arnesberg uses this proof house)
>>65156639Thanks man, always appreciated.
>>65156679Why buy this when you could buy nearly two VP9CCs? :^)
>>65156700It’s the gun people always wanted. I work at a Gunstore, dozens of people were asking for hammer fired Glock 19s, the phones ringing off the hook asking for a hammer fired Glock 19. Finally we have it. The hammer fired Glock 19 by Wilson Combat.
>>65156679>BRICK texture
>>65156703If there is one thing I want with my hammer fired gun, it’s to be unable to access the hammer no matter what. I really want to not be able to touch it at all.
>>65156703I'm just taking the piss since the $1900 price tag puts it well out of reach of most normalfags who'd want a hammer fired Glock. That's definitely in enthusiast territory, and power to them if they want to pony up the money for it Cool that it fits in Glock holsters though, but I'll just wait for the Turks or Keltec or Ruger to make a sub-$1000 clone.
>>65156679>grip safetyanddd it gave me the ick
>>65156679texturing the grips that way is such a huge blunder
>>65156679>4 safetiesplease dont make this a fucking trend
>>65156866It's literally just the regular Glock safeties plus a grip safety.>trigger padOn a Glock.>disconnectorOn a Glock.>firing pin blockOn a Glock. The only weird thing is wanting a grip safety instead of a thumb safety. But it's Wilson Combat, i.e. old 1911 dudes, so from that context a grip safety sounds better than a thumb safety because proper use automatically disables a grip safety without any extra training.
>>65156139>high power>long power
Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap .22 LR automatic pistol? I've got a Rossi R22/Mossberg Plinkster and I'd like something I can take to the range and share ammo. I'm kind of torn if I want an auto or should just buy a Heritage single action, as I do like the look of them and they're cheap, too. I don't need something tactical or super chic, just something that doesn't jam too much and isn't too expensive. So, what suggestions do you have?
>>65156866The P320 tolerance stacking shitshow has made people fuddmaxx when it comes to safeties.
>>65157012TX22, you can even make it fully semiautomatic for like 14 bucks with a piece of sheet metal.
>>65156679Grip safety and other bizarre design features aside, how is it seriously the current year and nobody at Wilson combat walked by the CAD file for this and said "what the fuck is that stupid grip texture design lmao". Why are aesthetics something that is still royally blundered these days?
>>65156900>disconnector>On a GlockAckchyually, there are no disconnectors in factory Glock pistols because the sear is integral to the trigger bar. The component is really a cam for the sear and the slide has a cam track to prevent "out of battery" fire
>>65157063Shut up nerd
>>65156082Money comes and goes
>>65156679I don't think anybody has ever said the phrase "feels like I'm holding a brick" and meant it as a compliment, Wilson.>>65157012Personally I'd advise against the H.R.R. wheelguns. It's a fun range toy, but it's built like a cap gun.
>>65156646Any quality control issues?
>>65157123A range toy is fine. I've got a P228 and a Raven Arms .25, so I have something useful for other things. I just want a something I can take with me to the range and maybe use to teach people the basics of using guns.
>>65156679>BRICK'ick on 'ark
>>65157123>I don't think anybody has ever said the phrase "feels like I'm holding a brick" and meant it as a compliment, Wilson.I say that about my USP and mean it as a compliment.
>>65157146Fair enough. I'd still recommend spending just a little more on something like a wrangler tho. The sights are shit, the finish is appalling and it is by far the least accurate firearm I own.
We should do tournaments where we vote on guns based on different categories Best pocket pistol, best duty gun etc
>>65157259Every category would just end up being strikerslop because 75% of /k/ are either nogunz or zombies that just buy latest thing.
>>65157259>We shouldOK are you going to start it? No?!! You're just a dipshit wishful thinker?!Dumbass
>>65157264That's because strikerslop is the best in every category
>>65157267>The best hammer fired gun...is a strikerWe lost.
>>65157265I'll do it
>>65157272I suppose we could have a separate category for hammer guns, so 1911 can win at anything.
Suppressor had mounting thread too deep in the body and would end up pushing against slide, preventing the firing pin to reach the rim.So I did babby's first lathe job last week when a friend showed me how to use his lathe and turned the can 1 mm shorter. Fits perfectly now.The raw aluminium surface even makes the sights semi-usable. Just need to paint the edge to tidy it up.
>>65157277Just do it!
