Ar15 platforms are way better.
>>
no shit, sherlock. do you have any other grand revelations for us?
>>
You'd be correct but you called them platforms which is gay and retarded which makes any statement you make.gay and retarded

It really comes down to that fat fucking bullet and the fact the dust cover is totally unsuitable for a sight of any kind. Overall, the guts are actually pretty good since they're basically just the M1 Garand if you switched around the gas tube and barrel.

Meanwhile, the M16 is basically a Project Gun. Easy to make, easy to mod, theoretically easy to clean IF THEY USE THE RIGHT POWDER. Yes, I'm still mad about that.

But it is a platform.
The accessories are what carry the AR. Every other rifle nowadays tries to copy its modularity and ability to accept attachments.

Meh, who cares? 99.9% of us will never use our guns for any practical purposes beyond just having fun in the woods so I base my gun preferences entirely around what I think looks cool.

Buffer tube was the much more relevant problem

I think most of the problems with the ak have probably actually been addressed it's just that the only people who've fingerfucked them or ever will are nepo babies in russias high command who probably exist like pizza hut chugging pogs.

>design a gun around a specific powder that needs to be cherry picked for to meet its exact spec
The more I learn about the early days of the AR and some of his work afterwards the more I'm convinced stoner was a fucking retard who couldn't comprehend rifles have to be used by infantry and produced on a mass scale

Homemade black powder is the future.

Milquetoast opinion.

Rifles are not platforms. Retired Air Force pilot NutNFancy popularized the term to compare modular firearms to real weapons platforms (like fighter jets or the M1 Abrams tank) because he wanted to reference his glory days from the military in his firearm reviews. Since then obnoxious people insist on regurgitating terms like that to sound smarter, when it only makes them sound obnoxious. Like when someone who isn't a software developer or systems engineer tries to talk about the "use case" of his latest firearm purchase rather than just saying "the purpose" of the purchase.

>doesn't refute my point about attachments
So a more accurate term would be 'host'?

They both suck

his later guns were much better (in terms of making an actual infantry weapon; Jim Sullivan definitely carried a lot of his slack though)
he was an engineer, with all the flaws that carries

The ergonomic issues of the AR-15 cannot be ignored.

Thank God we have a choice.

Op is probably an amerifag who c clamps rifles and wonders why he can't see the sights
>>65156441
> the dust cover is totally unsuitable for a sight
Because it's a dust cover and you already have sights on the gun and it uses a side rail for scopes lmfao
> just the M1 Garand if you switched around the gas tube and barrel.
And the wonky bolt and useless weight, and gave it a functional magqzine and removed the aids that gay overrated rifle has always had
>>65156562
They had to add a button to the side of the receiver so you can seat the round inside the barrel because the gun itself was too big of a piece of shit to do it consistently lmfao
He also seethed about it "not needing one" and how they massacred his im"invention" kek
Ar would have died long time ago if it weren't for the military industrial complex and later the homosexual youtube operators

I’m going to be a bit more nuanced instead of shit fling. As an AR owner I think the AK is cool along with its many variants. I’d personally love to own an AK-15. The point of the AK is it’s low maintenance for the most part. When ARs were still prohibitively priced, AKs and the SKS were a good semi-auto choice. Nowadays though, surplus is dried up and ARs have become much more customizable
