Yes, make sure to buy one for each arm.

For what, exactly? What use-case are you imagining in which you believe that equipping something like that would be a worthy investment?

yeah the heavy left gauntlet to protect the hand holding your reins was popular with harquebusiers during the English Civil War prior to 1646.

basically you have one on each arm and you do this until the enemy is within ungabunga range

Only if you're facing unarmed opponents, those are meant for riot control and not much else.
It's not bad against knives probably too but if your opponent is either unarmed or lightly armed, almost anything would work.

For various reasons which are mostly obvious, China emphasises non-lethal responses to the public in almost all situations that don't directly threaten lives.
Couple that with firearms being tightly controlled and you have Chinese companies coming up with all sorts of odd melee options.

A security guard probably wouldn't be allowed to have this but it would certainly work in 90% of use-cases for them, though they'd probably give some elderly rural migrant a heart attack if they used it after he fought back when caught shoplifting food from the supermarket.

Would work fine for breaking up a student protest or a knife massacre but then so would tonnes of other options.

Electro weapons are common among Chinese security who guard train stations and malls and things, those are usually PAP or civilian SWAT and can have anything they want, firearms are present but held in reserve while there's always some guys with electro batons and stuff who are meant to be the first use of force.

why? your sword arm is more vulnerable due to it being out and swinging.
>>

If dogs don't find purchase the first time they'll keep trying elsewhere until they do. I.E. crotch and fucking neck
>>
>>65156902
I suppose that the left arm would be in a position that would cover centre-mass in a pinch.

'Noice.

harquebusiers carried swords, but their primary weapons were guns from range, thus no gauntlet on the shooting (right) hand. Not all harquebusiers used the gauntlet.
>>
>>65156533
Can you put one on and let me shoot it?
>>
>>65156806
Easily one of the best slept on titles.

To add to this, your sword arm, if it comes to that, is also protected by you know your sword and its handguard
>>
>>65157059
yeah the hilt on a Mortuary Sword was going to be nearly as protective as a gauntlet would be

but the other thing people miss is that while the metal armor on a harquebusier's armor was intended to be bullet proof, the leather buff coat was also a key part of the protection system and was intended to resist slashes and stabs from bladed weapons.

Lmao China is absolutely terrified of their populace having guns. Governments absolutely scared shitless of an armed man.
