The 20rd Hungarian mags are pretty cool
>>

Your opinion is not complete shit, but I'd like to know your justifications.
>Pufgun tiered above Egyptian steelies
>slabsides at God tier when they weight a ton
>what is an AK-55 mag? Just basic bitch steelies?
>what is GDR bakelite?
>is the polymer "Rusfor" supposed to be 103 mags?
Imo Finnish waffles are God tier because of weight.
Also all Zastava mags are all BHO as far as I know, yet you have 2 different examples.
How many AK mags do you own, just out of curiosity?
>I should remake this but for mags
>>
>>65158445
Shouldn't there be a giga-god tier for the green AG-4 mags?

>>
>>65158445
>US Palm, PUFGUN and Zastava polymer mags above steel lined Bulgarian and Circle 10
this is only one of the retarded things about this
>>
>>65158944
Dude our mags are fucking shit, I don't know what yoh guys in the states get, but over here in bulgaria they are considered trash tier, half of the time they arrive without the metal locking lugs on the rear and the plastic ones break off, sometimes they don't fit saigas, sometimes they don't fit SARs and SLRs, ISD mags need to be filed down for hours before they become useful, circle 10 waffles are just disgusting and never fit shit
>>
>>65159046
Post your AK mags, auslander.
>>
>>65158594
It's not a tierlist about weight, I just made it for shits and giggles, also to express my frustration with plastic shit and some weird mags.

Puf gun mags always fit anything, Egypt steels sometimes bend easily, an AK-55 is basically soviet steel mags issued after 1955, GDR Bakelite is Bakelite made in GDR, East Germany, indeed it is the post 1991 russian pattern of 103 mags.
I have like 8 zastava examples, 3 bolt hold open for normal AKs, 4 without and 1 mythical for a Serbian model with an actual hold open,

Dunno... not enough xD I would make a tier list out of everything I know, those are just the 30 rounders I have tried
>>
>>65159046
>Dude our mags are fucking shit,
What are you putting them in?
I've never seen one loose or wobbly in any WASR or Zastava I've seen them fired in. May be a bit snug, but never so snug that they're unusable. Gen 3 PMAGs are even more snug if that's the issue and I don't see them garnering any hate.
>>
>>65159046
>half of the time they arrive without the metal locking lugs on the rear
Isn't that because they have separate models with and without those steel reinforcement lugs?

>>65159061
You don't understand me, I want my magazine to be a little loose, arsenal waffles for me atleast never fit neither my saiga not my SAR (one of the shittiest imaginable guns an SAR M12F) they ate too wide for saigas sometimes, widelise they fit Bulgarian rifles but they are too fat around the lugs, you have to use a shit ton of force for insert and a hammer to get them out. I usually file them down to the metal lugs but even then they are a little mishaped and refuse to work... ISD mags tend to do the same and rhe issue with missing metal inserts is so annoying, I get a new mag I force it in as always since they never fit and boom the back lug snaps clear off
>>
>>65159071
Bakelites go for at most 50€ (~50$ I guess idk fuck the eurotards who forced this on me) if you know people and around 85€ if you dont.

the millisecond a peace deal is signed you should book a flight out to Ukraine. They are going to be cleaning up the donbas for decades when this is done. There are likely thousands of MIA bodies laying around to loot and completely destitute people willing to sell locally found war materials for pennies. If you aren't scared of landmines, there is a treasure trove of soviet bloc goodies waiting

Never said it was, that was just my opinion/experience.
>I just made it for shits and giggles
Fair enough.
>AK-55 is basically soviet steel mags issued after 1955
That's not really a thing. At least I've never heard that term used for combloc steelies. Maybe ribbed, but never specific AK-55.
>GDR Bakelite is Bakelite made in GDR, East Germany
To my knowledge, the DDR never made bakelite mags in 7.62x39.

K. Just call them that then. There's 2 varieties ribbed and slabside. Ez-pz ID.

Yugoslavia didn't make non bho followers, again, to my knowledge.
How did you conclude they're Yugos?
I have an M64 mag too, unless you have the gun with the LRBHO mech it's just another mag, with a notch in the side.
Not saying they're not cool.

Bakelites come in many shades. They also have mold numbers/manufacturer.
Post them.

I've never seen a factory Yugo mag in "factory" package.
Croatian, maybe but those usually have a big made in Croatia stsmp on the side.
Post these Yugos without BHO followers as well, please.

It's colloquially known as the M64 although I believe it's designation was technically M70 First model.
But yes.
Iirc All Yugo mags including the notched mags (Actual Yugoslavian, prewar) have a BHO followers that will hold the bolt but will not retain it if you remove the mag, unlike the so called 64 with true LRBHO.

Flat-back Chinese steelies belong in S tier too.
They're fucking awesome, very robust. I've got ~5 or 6 and I'd take them over just about anything.
Only downside is they weigh a noticeable amount more when you compare them to 5-6 standard steelies.

A couple grams isn't a noticeable amount to me, but like 30g or more I can see it adding up quick when carry a load out.
>>

I've seen two weights listed online, assume 319-322 grams unloaded.
They're definitely the heaviest AK mags I own, so I believe it.
They're extremely well constructed, when I first held one I was genuinely shocked it came from China, I would have thought Romanian or Yugo.

Based on what I can find (without digging my mags out) , a run of the mill Romy steelie weighs 330-334g unloaded.

So you don't own any other combloc steelies then? Kidding lel.

>Palm in anything other than trash
Fake and Gay. Palm is easily the worst commercial mag you can get your hands on (save for Promag). They're basically impossible to disassemble without breaking it. Even the "Steel reinforced" models do not have any reinforcement around the feed lips. Their moldings are also really cheap, sprue gets stuck inside the mag a lot, which means you can't load them to full. And since you can't disassemble them without breaking them... garbage mags, not worth 20-40 dollars at all.
Circle 10s are NOT trash, but they are scalped to an insane degree. No commercial magazine is worth 100+ dollars.
Bulgarian Polymer/Korean Polymer mags aren't the most durable, but they're still one of the only mags you can still find for 10 dollars. For all intents and purposes, these will work in your gun just fine.
With milsurp steel mags, generally speaking, don't mix countries (Polish mag in a russian gun, Yugo mag in a romanian gun, etc) if you can help it and you'll be fine. I have had good luck with Russian/Bulgarian/Romanian interchangeability, and bad luck with Yugo mags working in anything other than a Yugo gun. Polish mags also seem to have the lowest durability/fit/QC of all the steel ribbed mags, but it could be the batch that I have.

What "commercial" mags are $100+?
I think you're saying "commercial" when you mean current production, in which case I totally agree.
>they are scalped to an insane degree
Funny, because the guy who was bringing them in, in the early 2000s was undercutting kvar by more than half.
But unless you're buying plum, OD, or RPK mags they're not that high; black ((10))s are like $50 (which is still pretty high)
>With milsurp steel mags, generally speaking, don't mix countries (Polish mag in a russian gun, Yugo mag in a romanian gun, etc) if you can help it and you'll be fine
I have had the exact opposite experience. Every 7.62x39 mag I have from the 9(?) countries I have examples from, works in all my AKs save for Russian aluminum waffles don't fit my AMD-65 for some reason. Which irks me because I've seen others with aluminum waffles in theirs, but it hits the center support rivet or something and just will not go.
>Polish mags also seem to have the lowest durability/fit/QC of all the steel ribbed mags, but it could be the batch that I have.
Are they the refurbished ones that were going around? The paint on those was mopped on making them fit like shit in everything.

Last time I checked ((10)) were going north of 80 and were close to 100, glad to see that they've come back down. I was not aware that they were military mags.
>I think you're saying "commercial" when you mean current production, in which case I totally agree.
Yeah that's what I meant, albeit I was not aware they were military issue. I don't think these mags are nice enough to justify the price when you could get four or five cheaper ones for the same price. Just my two cents, different strokes for different folks.
Glad that your steel mags work in all of yours. My steel mags also work in all of my AKs, but some are really tight, specifically, the rear locking lug is too long or too thick on a few. Nothing that can't be fixed with a dremel and some light sanding. My range buddies have gotten very unlucky with Yugo mags not fitting in their Saigas.
As for my polish mags, I don't think it's the paint. They double feed occasionally, with the bolt picking up two rounds at once. I measured the opening of the mag and found that the feed lips are too far apart to only feed one round to the top at once, leading to the double feeds. These were a batch of five mags I bought from someone else about five or six years ago who never owned an AK and bought the mags thinking he would buy one later.

>specifically, the rear locking lug is too long or too thick on a few.
That's kind of the point of rock and lock mags, imo.
Put some torque on it. Do it again and again until those surfaces mate up.
Do this for all your mags, on all your rifles.
>Yes all of them, if you are "poor" and have one AK it should be easy.
Rifle and magazine is fine.
>I don't think these mags are nice enough to justify the price when you could get four or five cheaper ones for the same price. Just my two cents, different strokes for different folks.
I did buy 4 or 5 cheaper mags too anon.
Just don't buy shit mags? Cool mags can be had at just about any dollar amount.
My favorite range mags are my beat up Romanians, that I spent hours cleaning and working them back into shape with a 13mm socket, 24" breaker bar and a hammer.
>Nothing that can't be fixed with a dremel and some light sanding
A little lapping compound on the lugs and just insert and remove. No power tools are necessary.
Yes breaking in mags sucks and is tedious but it will end up a better fit. Wear gloves if it hurts your soft hands ;^
>As for my polish mags, I don't think it's the paint. They double feed occasionally, with the bolt picking up two rounds at once. I measured the opening of the mag and found that the feed lips are too far apart to only feed one round to the top at once, leading to the double feeds
Squish it? Flag it, filter it out to be scrap?
AK mag geometry is something I kinda have to physically feel out, so I couldn't really help you with that.
>five or six years ago
Are you sure its not one of that painted batch? Sounds about the right time depending on how long he had them.
I'm not sure they only issues with those were strictly paint related.
