Weapons from fiction that you want to be real, that could also possibly be real. For me, it's the Bolter.
>>65162584Good news.
>>65162584If you want what effectively a Godwyn-Deaz pattern bolter (as your pic shows), used by the Adeptus Sororitas (and thus scaled for normal human proportions), just get an AK pattern 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun, set the barrel to your prefered length, and fire slugs from it. Both SoB and Astartes standard bolter round is .75 caliber, which is essentially the same as 12 guage. You can tinker with slugs to give them an explosive payload of some sort, and even an armor piercing tip. The only thing your really missing is the rocket propulsion of the round once it leave the barrel, but who cares.
>>65162601Does a fanatical alien-hating sexy nun with a white-dyed bob cut and a flamethrower personally kiss a lipstick mark onto every bullet before it is shipped to the front lines? If not, there are improvements yet to be made. >>65162652Don't Inquisitorial troops carry those as well or is that only officers? There's such weird consistency around who gets issued bolters and who gets a lasgun.
>>65162652I had the opportunity to buy one of those once and was literally less than a hundred dollars short, decided to wait until payday, came back and it was gone.
>>65162652you 40k faggots are so fucking retarded
>>65162584For me, it's the pulse rifle.
>>65162584Combat Shotgun from Falloutt. wants to see how the action would work in the real world
A pump action AR.
>>65162753This. And the DKS 501 sniper rifle
>>65162769You’re in luck, Australia made them real, if you’re Canadian or in a Demonrat state this is a good option
>>65162707>Don't Inquisitorial troops carry those as wellthey carry whatever they can use the authority of their inquisitor to requisition. Commissar's carry bolt pistols usually. Some Imperial Guard officer here and there might have a bolt pistol as well.
>>65162913>not KeltecImpressive
>>65162959sublime
>>65162718https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R66Rqe_hrIlittlebluegroxfondler
>>65162958It’s even available in 300 blackout, which makes it the official replacement for the Remington 760
>>65162707If you mean stormtroopers aka tempestus scions they get hotshot lasguns.
>>65162652>>65163015You guys will memorize every little bit of lore but won't even go to trade school
>>65163015it's funny because the lore is literally written by british atheists with trans kids but you slurp it up like it's a crack addict and beg for more
>>65162584Same answer every time these threads come up : lilghtsaber.Because I wanna watch the rekt threads that will be full of idiots cutting off their own arms, legs, decapitating themselves, and/or disemboweling themselves.
>>65163213I feel like if The Force isn’t a factor the Halo energy sword beats the lightsaber, just get the lightsaber between the forks snd twist and your opponent is fucked

>>65163226And if my grandma had wheels she'd be a bicycle.
>>65162584Is something like this really too much to ask for?
>>65163148>you guys get into things that interest you but won't get into things that don't interest youNo shit?
>>65163015Didn't the Imperium lose that war?
>>65163148eh, I retired early. I also think 40k, at least at this point, is pretty stupid. I learned a good bit about the bolter and lasguns out of curiosity, enough to figure out what a real life analog to a bolter available now would entail. But I would much rather have a lasgun and a few extra mags, since they will easily kill whatever I need to kill on planet Earth and have effectively infinite ammo. They are also built far more robustly than any bolter in the lore.
>>65163213Realistically, anyone wearing less protective gear than Darth Vader would get rekt the moment they turned on a lightsaber, simply because the amount of IR radiation off of a plasma blade like that would blind you and set you on fire within a few seconds.
>>65163226I don't know anon that sounds like a good way to have the saber ride all the way up to your hand. I also have always thought the pointed bits by the wrist were a recipe for disaster.Does look cooler though
>>65163772even better, when qui-gon plunged one into a thick plasteel door in TPM, with the molten material an inch or so from his hand.
>>65162584>>65162652>>65163015>>65163251>Oh my science!!1 Is that a HECKIN Bolterino!1!
>>65163968>Oh my 40 dicks dicks in my mouth!!1 Is that an opportunity to be a massive faggot!1!
>>65163968it do be like that tho
>>65162584Behold, the jeet's worst nightmare
>>65163250>a bull with a kick so hard even power armoured, roid ridden, child super soldiers have to fight the recoil>makes it standard issue to everyone, even non-combat crewmenThe UNSC is so fucking based it's unreal
>>65163250I'm currently 3D printing a small model of the Halo Magnum as I type this
>>65162584Anti Materiel sniper rifle that has a smaller calibre (like 5.56 or something) underbarrel like a m320.Not sure if a drum mag would be better for the underbarrel or not.The AM rifle would be powerful enough to take out BTR/BMP type vehicles and needs to be able to be fired while standing.
>>65162584>Rocket propelled munitions with reactive propertiesWe kind of tried this and it was shit.
>>65164116I have a contender!
>>65162959What's the little red button for?
>>65164269I wonder if gyrojets would have worked better if they were two-stage like the bolter. Also, I think modern fuses and circuitry like the ones we use in air-burst ammunition would do a lot to make gyrojets more effective, if not necessarily practical
>>65165478There would probably have been more incentive to find answers to your questions were we in a war with a species of ambulatory fungus that can survive being decapitated provided their head remains intact and can be recovered so it can be sewn onto another, or implanted in amcrude mech. As it is we discovered that tiny rockets really don't kill another human more dead than an inert hunk of metal moving at similar speeds.
>>65162913i'm pretty sure Troy already made them a reality.
>>65165504the people that wrote up bolters were bongs and thats about as noguns as you can possibly be as a human. They had no idea what would actually be effective, so they just threw shit together.
>>65165478Maybe, but if you have a normal gun that then fires gyrojets then all you're really doing is adding a whole lot of excess complication, size and weight to the bullet which would had been better served just making a much simpler, slightly bigger, slightly heavier gun/bullet.
>>65165504If you’re fighting Clankers and need man portable anti-material weapons that won’t break your back to carry or your wrist to fire, semi-automatic rocket propelled grenades is probably a safe bet
>>65165619If you are referring to the men of iron, bolters weren't made to fight them, volkite weaponry was. Which makes sense, a good way to defeat a robot that that has armor your hand held weapons can't pierce would be to use a weapon that imparts enough thermal energy to the target that it's internal components cook inside said armor.
>>65162584I really like the Helghast bullpup rifle from Killzone.
>>65163148I am currently in trade school and will be done with the first year of my machining degree in a few weeks, and will hopefully be doing a paid internship at a well-known manufacturer of high-end ARs over the summer. Making fictional /k/ stuff real is a major part of why I was interested in this career field and I don't know if I'll ever actually be able to do it but my dream is having a boutique company that makes sci-fi range toys, and trying to make a real lore-accurate bolter (with normal + rocket propulsion) is absolutely on my shortlist if I ever get the chance.
>>65165628I think he's saying that AI killbots might create a real-world niche for bolters.
>>65165910Assuming IRL kill bots aren’t just microdrones with tiny shaped charges, yeah, I can see that. Pretty sure even a T-800 wouldn’t survive a half-dozen 75cal shaped charges unscathed
