Second post ever
>>65163470Immediately noticed two apparently incorrect labels on the first 2 mags in your S tier.Whatever 6L20 is, it's not "early pa-6" it's still bakelite. It's known as AG-4V or colloquially just as "glass filled bakelites"And the border guard mags aren't AG-4S, they're whatever polymide formulation the plums, true blacks etc are iirc (guessing it's PA-6?)Also I think Chinese 5.45 mags aren't called flatbacks, that's just 7.62x39 mags. As far as Im aware they're referred to by the "Type" the rifle is, in this case Type 88 mags.>You gonna remake the 7.62x39 with a Mythical mag tier?
Why did you even bother making this list let alone this thread if your list is just childishly organized by "older = more cooler and better!!!"
saved!
>>65163587He jerks off to Soviet trash "guns" and probably frequents /akg/ faggotey central. What did you expect?
>>65163555I triple checked, when it comes the ribbed designs it is PA-6 in all sources, I've never seen one irl, but I do have one early 6L20 and it's very much not AG-4 in texture feel or weightAlso 6L20 is the GRAU designation for the og bakelite mags, 6L23 is for the later polymer ones, when it comes to the Chinese stuff I've only seen them called "flatbacks" Border guard mags i am 100% sure are actually both AG-4 and PA-6 variants And yeah I need to remake the 7.62 one i basically don't know nearly as much about them as these
>>65163587>>65164197Newfags.>>65163470Nice list. Been here decades and I've never seen a ribbed 74 mag and didn't know they even existed. Most obscure I've ever seen was the transparent 74 mag. One was on GunBroker for $1500 years ago.
>>65164321>when it comes the ribbed designs it is PA-6 in all sourcesI wasn't referring to the Ribbed plums, but the "GL20 Early PA-6" labeled mag. That's the AG-4V Bakelite. >6L20 is the GRAU designation for the og bakelite magsOk. Are you GRAU? Then no need to use their system of labeling. Also which one is the "OG" bakelite to them? AG-4V or AG-4S?>when it comes to the Chinese stuff I've only seen them called "flatbacks"That's fair, as I've never really had experience with chink 74 mags and was basing that off my experience with the 20 round 7.62x39 mags. A lot of them are actually Type 63 mags, but people mistakenly also label any 20 round Chinese mag (in 7.62x39) a Type 63 even though they don't have the BHO design of real Type 63s.>Border guard mags i am 100% sure are actually both AG-4 and PA-6 variantsI've never seen a "normal" (AG-4S) 74 Border guard mag, but you're technically correct as there is one in AG-4V.>And yeah I need to remake the 7.62 one i basically don't know nearly as much about them as theseI appreciate your autism, it jibes with my own.>full disclosure; I don't fuck with 74s, but with my time in the "rare" AK mag market, I've seen a lot of them just by proximity.
>>65163587Well I gave it some thought, I won't consider any mag that needs half a day of filing down to fit properly and be able to be removed without extreme force, Bulgarian plastic mags with metal lugs tend to do that, western plastic mags also love doing that, that's why I ranked original bakelite and polymer mags higher together with steel magazines as they insert and extract with no issues, they wobble nicely and never have feeding issues. All plastic mags I have ever tried except Bulgarian examples have feeding issuesThe mythical tier is just cool I have no idea whether these are good, but they are extremely valuable in terms of collector value and coolnessAlso higher tiered mags are much more durable (with the exception of the aluminum one, no matter how much engineering went into it it's just aluminum)
>>65164325>Most obscure I've ever seen was the translucent 74 magWhich one? I believe there were a few colors not unlike the translucent 7.62x39 mags.
>>65164751Holy shit are those legit!? Amazing, truly beautiful
>>65164905>Holy shit are those legit!?Yes? I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but it's not like the pakis or Chinese were/are making knock off translucent mags, if that's what you're getting at.>All the Paki 74s that I'm aware of
>>65164662Yeah no shit sherlock the frame of a steel or bakelite mag is gonna be tough. Too bad the frame is the least important part of the mag. Good thing you're a fat retard shooting from the bench who doesn't care about weight, right? And btw "Umm ackshually every mag that's not 40 years old has feeding issues without exception" is not convincing anyone
>>65165093Exactly because i care about using my rifles in close to actual environments i prefer magazines that don`t choke on foreign elements, will lock in the gun even if little dirty, can`t be basically broken except if you are REALLY trying (i have broken 3 magpul ones without steel locking lugs, 1 with steel locking lugs, as i was pulling it out of the rifle the steel remained inside everything else was spilled on the ground) Also soviet style mags have a hole for water to get out which is kinda nice, the weight difference between a normal 6L20 and a magpul gen 3 is 10 grams i have no fucking idea what you are talking about.>shooting from the bench you say
>>65165175Wow crazy that you have gotten a completely different type of pmag from everyone else who uses them without any of these looney tunes tier issues
>>65164751It was a clear 74 magazine. Iirc they said it was for the ak-12 prototype.
>>65163470What's the point if (good) 5.45 guns are unobtanium because of the Eternal Hohol SMO?
>>65166001Guns are cheaper than Gucci mags. No one wants sgls anymore with the ammo ban.
>>65163470I just think they're neat
>>65166198They truly are
