So /k/, is the Rhino actually a good gun or it just a $900-$1400 price tag for the vibes? Is the Price justified? Does the lower bore axis's felt recoil reduction worth the 3x higher price than other revolvers? Is the 20ds/200ds actually a better conceal carry revolver? Discuss

Got it as a novelty gift for my brother. Side by side to a J frame it felt like the .357 was stout .38, and the goofy looking grip works surprisingly well.

It's fun to take to range every once in a while. I wouldn't call it a good gun, but it feels unique to shoot because of the recoil impulse. I don't regret spending the money on it, but I also wouldn't actively recommend it to anyone.

I wouldn't mind a 4" model for fun
I wouldn't carry it. I have carried my 4" GP100 a few times.

They feel like a toy made out of cheap cast aluminum.

The consensus I see whenever someone asks about them is that it's a good design that's manufactured to questionable standards. Personally, Chiappa is the "Pagani" of the revolver market; they make a cool and unique design that rarely holds up to the "Ferraris" and "Lamborghinis."

Meh quality but absolutely horrific aesthetic.

A 2 inch .327 mag version would be fun, cool theyre doing a .44 tho the low bore axis in a 4 or even 3 inch should be managable for a stout round

Didn't two people get their fingers blown off by em?
>>

Something like that happened once or twice yeah. From the little I was able to dig up one was a squib so go figure and the other one the dude was using hot hand loads.
>>
I think the shortest one looks extremely cool, but I wouldn't want my carry gun to be a low production run meme gun that might not fire when I squeeze the trigger

For what it's worth, I own one of the 200ds models and I fucking love it. It's been my carry gun for the past six months now and there's an odd amount of confidence to it when 154gr .357 mag feels like .38 spl.
Just be prepared for it to be oddly bulky, so it's not quite so easy to pocket as a J-frame, though it is doable with big pockets. I use a Falco holster with mine and no one's said anything about it yet, so.
The moon clips it comes with SUCK though. Get some from TK Custom. Those are a lot better.

I have small hands and can't reach the hammer or the trigger pad on pythons and manurhins without breaking my grip. The cocking lever of the rhino makes it the only revolver I've shot (albeit I have a small sample size) that have controls I can work with perfectly.

did they get rid of the seam?
>>
They're cool, but not Unica cool.

Only on the 20ds/200ds and the 30ds. all other variants have The Seam. Btw I feel the need to point out that literally most modern revolvers have seams for the barrel. It just looks weird with the Rhino cause it stands out more

Its a pretty good sign that the most current info on kabooms is ten years old

The "vibes" look bad they need to square off the front and make all the holes the same size.

I like the snub version because it reminds me of that Russian silent revolver.

>>65164301
Rhino only has it because of US import laws.

You'll see many more incidents if you hang around other firearm forums like ar15.com or thefiringline.com. I simply chose the news article because it seems less anecdotal, and they mention what caused it (a squib load). Moving on, when a traditional revolver explodes (whether it is user error or the gun's fault), the part that explodes is the top of the cylinder and frame. When the Chiappa Rhino explodes, it's the bottom cylinder and frame that go out. If your Rhino explodes, your hand is in much more danger. Note that in the article the shooter lost the tip of his index finger.

The only reason I would get a Rhino would be the 20DS because of Signalis or the 60DS to LARP that it is a RSH-12
