Thinking about actual WW3 terms since the nuclear winter theory is largely bunk, doesn't the pentomic army make sense? Especially with modern communication tech and drone logi. Just think pentomic divisions but everyone has nokias and drones for supply
I've read about it multiple times and still can't see what they saw in it, even when I try to eliminate hindsight
seems chill from the 3 sentences I read about it on wiki
I dont really understand it desu. Like the stated goal seems to be decentralizing command and giving individual companies as many organic assets as possible so if half of them get nuked, the other half can continue unaffected; but the actual implementation doesn't seem to change the assets everyone gets; all it seems to do is maybe give more authority to NCOs. But if the chain of command gets wiped, units are going to necessarily operate autonomously toward their predefined objectives anyway, a formal change in battalion structure isnt going to help that.

>>65163916It was basically a PR attempt by Taylor and Westmoreland to re-divert defence budget away from the air force and navy and back to the army. Like a company putting a little 'i' in front of its product or claiming it now "contains AI!"
