>SLAP
Tbh, now centurys are over a grand and PTRs are 1500, you dont see anybody talking about G3s anymore. PTRs used to be the go-to recommendation for poorfag college students, crazy how times change.
It looks fucking awesome but I cannot accept the ergonomics.
Did you see the turkish 12 gauge shotgun modeled after this that has the slap?
>>65164063? It’s a very comfy gun, needs the wide handguard though.
>>65164055I prefer it's older Spanish cousin desu. cheaper, same round, same mags, hell, if you keep the packs and housings together, they're interchangeable too.
>>65164098I don't know man, I'm no joke 5'11 and wear sz. large gloves, but it just feels like it was designed by really tall and lanky people. Controls feel further out than necessary and the stock feels a little too long. >inb4 King ManletI don't care, it doesn't feel good in my hands like an M14 or even FAL does. But I reiterate, it looks awesome, I just don't love them when rubber meets the road
>>65164055Nice. Is there a bigger version of this graphic?
Been really debating on selling my PTR GIR and putting that money toward a well known builder's G3 clone with a CHF nitrated barrel.
>>65164125They are no joke meant for people 6ft tall and big, if you’re a turbo manlet like you are, they just don’t work, my 6’5 body builder friend makes it look like an MP5.>>65164193Why not shoot it out and buy one anyways?
>>65164125Mayor of Hobbiton
>>65164213>They are meant for Aryan überpeople 6ft tall>But you’re a turbo manlet at 1 inch lessIs this the math burgers get taught?Anyway, the gun is pretty compact & lightweight for a battle rifle, but the proportions are off, controls stiff and bolt reassembly downright unpleasant...
>>65164060Same with import AK's. Pic rel is from Oct 2023 when you could get a WASR brand new for $660 and 500 rounds of ammo for $190 (which wasn't even considered "cheap" at the time). Oh how times have changed so quickly. Now the "budget" option is always building an AR chambered in whatever you're trying to shoot.
I want a 51k in 45 raptor
>>65164496Yeah. As someone who came on this board regularly from 2017-2022 it’s crazy how much the gun market scene changed in those 5 years.
>>65164055Always was the best. Just got drowned out by the constant FAL circle jerk for a while.
>>65164060I got a cetme kit put together for $400 still broke nigga approved.
>>65164467
What is it the people consider superior on the G3 over a FAL? Roller delay vs Adjustable Gas? Ergos? Cocking handle vs reciprocating charging handle? Manual of arms? Iron sight differences?I've owned a Arizona Response built PTR 91 that had all the bells and whistles (mil surp barrel & innards, flapper mag release, enhanced heavy buffer, mil surp optic & claw mount, HK21 buttpad, extended cocking handle, etc.) and it still felt violent at the shoulder. Accuracy was meh but I wasn't shooting high dollar precision ammo either. Now I own a StG 58 kit on a Imbel FAL receiver that has a decent trigger job and I don't see why the FAL still isn't the top dog cold war battle rifle. Skinny and fairly lightweight, bolt hold open, bolt release, charging handle doesn't require reaching, and field stripping is crazy easy and fast with open access to everything in the receiver.Help me understand what I missed.
>>65165176You had a badly built G3 and now you have a good FAL and you like it more? How is this news?
>>65165184>Arizona Response>badly built>Hesse built StG 58>good FALlol...LMAO even...
>>65165187>Arizona ranks 49th of the 50 states for per-student spending in education>They couldn't possibly produce a shitty product
>>65165204>I continue to not know what I am talking about and my posts are basically trolling at this point
>>65165207What did I say that you believe to be wrong?
>>65165217First you don't know who Gunplumber is regarding gunsmithing and building G3 and FAL clones. Second you assume they were born and educated in Arizona. Third you assume an education in Arizona means what ever they touch turns to shit. Got anything else you need me to set you straight on or can you withhold the urge to continue typing low IQ responses?
>>65165187If your G3 had “violent recoil” it was improperly built, my PTR has a gentle wave like recoil that is comfortable for even 5 ft tall women to shoot it for a few mags with no complaints. ARS does fuck up from time to time, and you got one of the fuck ups.
>>65165233
>>65164496>>65164500also am mildly pissed never got in on an AK-74 build (or 5.45), had a chance decade ago for nice one at a good priceNot a great loss, have most of the other contemporary mil rifles I want but...
>>65164055
>>65164055hon hon
>>65164055Has it?
>>65166707LGS has picrel for $7,500 (mint surplus) and I'm mad because it's full auto and having them convert it to semi would probably tack a good 10% extra on top of the already steep price. Why couldn't the krauts have made them semi to begin with like the PSG-1, it's not like a designated marksman was just gonna start blasting.
>>65164055>Battle rifleDead in the streets, HK33 is a gem doe
My PTR is great and all but my AP5 is substantially more fun. Roller delay is a thing of beauty on FRT mode.
>>65164125I'm 5'11and im the Supreme ruler of manlets.HK ergos make alot more sense when you realize the selector was designed to be manipulated when transitioning from patrol/low ready to high ready/firing stance ie with a broken grip. Also the charging handle has a very convenient sling mount on it so manlets can use their sling for increased leverage charging the weapon.Ergo complaints are invalid, it precedes the AR yet is still superior to slavshit ergos
>>65165176FAL gas port/throat erosion is no fucking joke desu senpai.G3 Irons are generally MUCH better than FAL irons with the exception of C1A1 drums and DSA para A2 rears achieving rough parityThere's nearly a million ways to tame a G3's violent recoil - namely checking locking piece and rollers, then you can move on to buffers, improved/HK21/MSG90 recoil systems, inline stocks, etc
>>65167145I'm curious about PTR's 223 rifle coming out. Might be a nice 'goldilocks zone' gun when it comes to recoil vs fun, between the 308 and 9mm
>>65167187The PTR 63 or an unreleased HK33 clone? The PTR 63, ie the dollar store G41, has been out there and it's pretty bad desu
>>65167231I ain't heard shit about it from any reputable sources.
>>65167240They've only sent demo guns out apparently in the past year. It's not a gun you should be excited for with PTR's QC wow as of lateThey made some major iterative changes compared to the G41 (which they did not have access to) for cheapening the end product. They should have just made an HK33 - there are cheap mag options for them now
>>65167258Ptr just keeps getting close to the product you want and then whiffing at the finish line, like the furniture on their MP5s and not just making HK33s.
>>65167282Hurr durr gotta hab AR mag compatibility is fucking DUMB, the HK33 is the second oldest 5.56 gun, ffs it was released earlier than the M16A1
>>65167258if it works half as well as my other ptr that's all I need.
>>65167291It won't, it's gunna suck hard bro. Just get a HK33, or better a new AP53 - you won't regret it
>>65167033man, I would grab the select fire oneJust swap out the fire control group
>>65167041No such thing as a "battle rifle"They are automatic rifles. (picrel and # 65166707)>>65167289>earlier than the M16A1No.HK 33 didn't go into production until 1968. XM16E1 was approved by Westmoreland July 1965 and entered U.S. Army service summer 1966 and the M16A1 entered production in February 1967
>>65167413The H&R T223 was 1965!Meaning it was seeing combat with the SEAL's before the M16A1 was type classified
>>65167435Only in tiny numbers. Heckler & Koch began developing the HK 33 line in 1964 around same time as the original MP5 aka HK54. Contract 508 was issued to Colt on November 4, 1963. That was for 104,000 rifles, 85,000 of which had the 'bolt closure device' for U.S. Army and USMC: the XM16E1. (Remaining 19,000 were for USAF and designated M16.) Delivery of both types of those rifles began in March 1964. The Army rifles were delivered to 82nd (used them in Dominican Republic April-May 1965) & 101st Airborne, 1st Cav, and Special Forces. Westmoreland gave approval for ordering 100,000 new rifles for all U.S. Army branches by fall 1965. H&R's T223 was trialed in small numbers during 1965, the Heckler & Koch HK 33 design (from which Harrington & Richardson licensed) was still a development prototype at that time.By the way faggot, that video he just uploaded: Ian's original post of T223 operating and maintenance manual was posted on his website on July 8th 2011: fifteen years ago (and I still have the manual bookmark made of that page by me, fifteen years ago, on my computer. I was a follower of FW long prior to him becoming a 'YouTube star' with millions of videogamer subs)https://www.forgottenweapons.com/hnr-t223-manual/
>>65167473Whoa my guy, dial it back a little.I said M16a1 - not XM16, AR15, M16, XM16E1, XM16E1E1, etc.The point is frog men were slotting Charles inna jungle with T223's rocking 40 round mags in 67' and earlierThere's a lot the HK33 did right
>>65167515>faggot videogamerMy post # 65167413 clearly pointed out that production of the HK 33 rifle began a full year after the M16A1 (which effectively as the XM16E1 had already been built in 1964), the HK 33 development design was only as limited production field protoypes of several hundred rifles from 1965-68. It wasn't a production rifle nor did it have a contract adoption by any service; even after the HK 33 began full production in 1968 it did not have adoption by any major military service right away, notably by its home nation West Germany. The M16 series began adoption by its home nation United States in 1964 in production numbers over 100K rifles and first saw combat that same year in Indochina (Vietnam-Laos), XM16E1 in spring 1965 Dominican Republic.in response to brainlet (You)>HK33 was released earlier than the M16A1Now stfu.
>>65167543So what you're saying is I'm right, and you mad. Got it
>>65167575We know (You)'re butthurt after BTFO videogametard. Take the L
>>65167382There's a bunch of bullshit involved in owning FA and I just don't wanna, call me gay and retarded...
