Instead of teaching bayonet fighting, teach gun-fu. Why show the boys how to scream and stab with a bayonet (that they'll maybe have tucked in their pack somewhere at best while they use a folding utility knife for utility knife things) when you could teach them how to scream and pummel someone's brains out with the butt of the rifle they'll definitely have on them?
