Thoughts on Gary Reeder's guns?
No one is going to give a straight answer because no one on /k/ would spend the money on a boutique showpiece they cant hunt or compete with. If you go on the forums theyll probably say they love it because they spent all that money and they want to justify their purchase
Ugly
They're pretty nice, but IMHO they are at sort of an odd price point where they're much too expensive to buy on a whim, while simultaneously being underwhelming if you decide you want to splurge and get a really nice piece. I would rather spend less and buy a Ruger, or spend more and buy a Freedom Arms or an interesting antique.>>65167268Agreed, the decoration of that one is not to my taste at all.
>>65167197A firearm should not be allowed to be engraved with the image of an animal until after it has bagged at least one of that species.
Is there any industry not infested with talentless nepo faggots?
>>65167819He did that as a project with his dad when he was like 14, right???? Right???? Please tell me that's not the actual product of an adult.
>>65167819I am embarrassed for him.
>>65167739But I want an Allosaurus engraved on my gun...
>>65167819I want to make a world of darkness character just to use this as his signature weapon.
>>65167197That one isn't bad but that's the exception and not the rule
>>65167819I really love the spike where the lanyard loop would be, seems like the perfect thing to have beside a spot where people quickly smack their hand against. The buttplug by the muzzle is just the cherry on top
>>65169248>I really love the spike where the lanyard loop would beAlmost as retarded as the floor-plate mounted dagger-things for Glock mags some tacti'tards were trying to shill during the height of the zombie-gun craze. See also: Buttstock-mounted axe-blade things for ARs.
>>65169258Oh man, how could I forget about that retardation. Man what's with retards and wanting to put sharp objects everywhere sharp objects don't belong? Is it some kind of fetish thing I'm not cued in on?
>>65169264I'm immediately reminded of pic related
>>65169264What you're seeing is a person who wants to mod guns, but they don't have any actual skills so all they can do is go for the easy low-hanging fruit. That's why you see so much cerakote, laser-engraving, and silly little bolt-ons like those spikes on so many modern "custom" guns--its easy to do. You don't have to have any artistic talent or practiced skill like a traditional gunsmith, engraver, machinist, etc, you just bolt shit together or click a print dialog box.
>>65167197His single action revolver work seems mechanically really nice from the one I've handled. I also handled and shot a 1911 he worked on (not his son) and it was pretty good. His engraving and stylistic choices vary from being subtle and tasteful to garish and ugly. His son however >>65167819Seems to have only inherited the worst taste in style and font choice from his father, although occasionally he'll make a decent looking gun (possibly through complete accident). But to my knowledge Kase just uses whatever slides and frames (Springfield, colt, rock island) and slaps whatever clip art he's feeling like on them. So not especially high end parts. It would be more worth it to get a good custom shop to work on a factory 1911 or commission a smaller builder that won't plaster his name in comic sans on your slide. Kase is a guy who likes striker fired SIGs and probably just works on these guns because it's part of the family business. The pictures of his 1911s don't look incredibly fit or blended.
>>65167335Freedom arms are amazing revolvers
