It's slow but its still going. Keltec's cliploader was within this past year and Ruger put out a pistol and carbine chambered for it. The immediate problem is ammo prices going up across the board so it's more complicated to see how healthy the round is.

RE: earlier discussions about spring life and such. How’s S&W typically regarded wrt spring/part metallurgy? I heard the bodyguard 2.0 had some pretty short spring life, what about something like a shield plus?
>>
>>65179972
As a rule, it's safe to assume all microcompacts are going to have shorter spring lifespans than a compact or full-sized gun. With that being said, I haven't heard of a ton of parts breakage in the Shield Plus or Bodyguard, but I'd guess the Shield Plus would probably be able to go a bit longer simply by virtue of it being larger.

it's actually really fun since it's so chill. I'm the only one shooting from concealment and I'm beating guys drawing from competition holsters
>>

That’s cool. Pushing the tempo while trying to maintain a rough accuracy standard is pretty much exactly what the pros do.
Gets expensive, though.
>>
>>65180088
Damn, what’s your typical time to first shot from concealment? I can only manage like 1.2-1.35, and that’s from OWB
>>
>>65180092
I'd like to be more accurate, but I think I just have to accept that I can keep it in a paper plate on a man sized silhouette. That might be the limit of my ability

I can hit 1.0s by not aiming but 1.2 or so is more normal to hit a A zone at 7 yards. I'm drawing from appendix using an phlster enigma with a leather holster in it. I'm either drawing my NIGHTHAWK PREDATOR 5 inch 2011 or my Wilson 4 inch for .45.

Some of these stages are easier than an A zone at 7 but each stage is to hit 5 steel targets, one of them marked in red must be hit last.

Honestly I am only able to hit these times by relying on the fact that the RSO has a set cadence when he says "shooter ready" and I can anticipate the beep. I noticed other shooters doing this so I do it as well. My quoted time for 1s is from my practice where I use a random delay on my timer. Not on this stage but other stages require aiming to hit the first target, this one had a generous large C zone plate for the first shot at maybe 6-7 yards.
>>
>>65180105
nah dawg, I guarantee if you spent ten minutes a day dry firing you’d improve, you haven’t hit any sort of talent ceiling yet unless you have some sort of medical condition

No, I see 10mm near or even better than .45 ACP prices. So it's not a temporary fad like 5.7, the logistics are there that 10mm is now cheaper than .45 ACP.

10mm and 40 are both underrated because of the meta that 9mm is enough, so limited optics major doesn't exist.

What was it like before the latest ammo price turbulence? I thought there was a wider variety of guns chambered in .45 than in 10mm so 10mm being cheaper doesn't sound right except for the case of a less desirable round being more insulated from market trends, kind of like how 9mm rose to meet/exceed .40 prices.

1. Holster draws. Timed. 7 yards A zone is the goal. I have also reduced the target size to a 3x5 black notecard in the center of the A zone to make it more difficult.
2. Doubles, single point of aim, fire the second shot as soon as you think you're back on target. Timed. You can vary the drill to add more or less confirmation on the second shot to test things.
3. Singe shot return. New drill I'm trying, you aim on a spot, and then use a timer to induce a shot, you try to have the shot off and back on target by the end of the beep ~0.25s long. So you must react to the target and try to get back on target ASAP. Ben, Professor Kim, have videos on it.
4. Drill I came up, 3x5 black notecard (cheap off amazon). It's hard to tell if you hit the notecard and easy to tell if you missed, so if you have a white or brown target, the black notecard has good contrast. You draw and then shoot until you hit the notecard.

>>65180186
see.

even now it's still the same. I was able to get the JHP version of this magtech ammo way back 38-39 cpr, while at the same time my .45 was 35 cpr or so. I did get a case one time for 31 cpr in .45. But bulk 10mm and bulk .45 were always very close. Now bulk .45 is expensive, I think demand for .45 is causing the current price difference compared to 10mm.
>>
>>65180159
The average poster here can stop shooting or dry firing for an entire year and still shoot better than SNAPbin
>>
Maybe he should number them 1-200, one for each round he shoots per year.
>>

I broke a part by cleaning carelessly like a gorilla which tanked the gun's reliability for about a month (pic related) while Third Bay went back and forth with me in video calls to diagnose then replace the part. Much love to them for going to all the effort--it was just a little plastic finger whose purpose is to keep ejected cases from bouncing back up into the action, and they sent me four replacements. Since repairing that it's been 100% again. Round count is just shy of 4,000

I don't carry the Ounce but now and then on a lark because the point of pocket carry is laziness and I store my guns unloaded and loading/unloading the Ounce one-by-one a couple times a day is onerous. Pocket carry is my LCP most of the time because I can just throw in a clip and trot. If I had two Ounces I'd just keep one loaded for grab-n-go

not bad but can always be better
you are at least practicing & you have the most kino glock varient out there outside of the glock 34 & 17 L
the short recoil spring makes it snappier, i have a 49 thats a 19 frame with the 47 slide but i got that so i can concealed carry it & have a wider magazine selection due to the prevalence of the 19
if you throw a holosun 507 comp dot on there you will have the same gun ben stoeger runs

1911s make the best dot guns. You can get insane long range precision with them.

Thinking about getting a new handgun specifically for pocket carry. Right now, I'm looking at two guns: the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 and the S&W Shield Plus.
What are your experience with these two guns for specifically pocket carry?
>>
>>65182380
the 380 will be lighter and smaller, but less power
shield plus will be heavier and larger, but more power
whether your "can't carry this in the pocket anymore" line lies, I don't know
it is possible you can carry either one in your pocket and it won't unpleasantly swing by inertia every time you make a step
likely you will find bodyguard much easier to accept as a part of your life
it also may be that either one is too much to bear
if you already wear a belt, do you have reasons why shield +/x iwb is impossible?

I can't decide if I like the 4" or 6" barrel better :-(

>>65182414
I want one. I almost bid on the 9mm MP3S that ended yesterday but $2900 was a little high imo. I'll probably just wait to find a normal b76 for around $1k desu

That's me and I appreciate the heads up but I unfortunately am a little in the hole currently (family matter).

Thanks as always for looking out

>>65182433
Yeah $2,900 is nuts. Hold out for the B76, around 1kilobuck is achievable with patience

Isn't that 8" and the other 6"? The 8" looks superior obviously and has more weight for your (shooting) pleasure, but I feel like most Meatballs I see are 8"

That's the 6", picrel is the 8", and the first picture near the top of the thread is the 4". The 4" feels the most balanced, but the 6" has the ribs and looks a bit better imo

should I buy a radian ramjet for my 43x? Its on sale
>>
>>65182640
It's HK so whatever nifty plan you have, the answer is no, you should start getting used to it.
For example,
>Can the 10rd mags be changed into 12rd mags?
No.
>>
>>65181038
hot take: it's to signal you're carrying so people will think twice about fucking with you.
big brain take: wear one, but still carry traditionally.
>>
>>65182640
>Can the 10rd mags be changed into 12rd mags?
The baseplates attach via different mechanisms so it's not as simple as popping a new one on. Could be some aftermarket ones now but idk.

>most of the thread regulars here do as well

Okay hear me out. Open carry.
>>
>>65182793
Open carry a dummy gun, pack the manpurse with tannerite and ball bearings, and have a traditional concealed handgun on the belt.
