Am I welcome here?
>>65196298Nah m8, we only allow 7.62x39 Nikonovs.
>>65196277Neo-WASR
>>65196268Are you sure, man? This thing genuinely smells like rank armpits and failed states.
>>65196375NTAJust leave it out in the open for a while, the smell will dissipate naturally, or to accelerate it sit it in a windowsill that gets light constantly throughout the day for like a week. If you do the sunlight thing, it might fade a bit so ymmv.Otherwise if you really want to get rid of the smell, you could soak it in soapy water for like 20-30 minutes and then scrub itJust don't let the leather loop get into the soap, it won't play along as well as the canvas. It's just canvas, you can clean it like any piece of cloth.

>>65196375Yes. I had one that smelled like cigarettes, BO, and cheap cologne. Thars how I knew it was legit surplus.
Hotta take my new 5.56 mutt out for a test fire. Last time I go with a part time builder, I doubt it'll be as good as the FEG 5.56 turned out
>>65196547Issues? Or just long turnaround time.Cool rifle nigga
>>65196103What is bad about it? I have been on the fence on getting it or the Bonesteel stock.
>>65196375Spray your perfume on it.
>>65196375try vinegar
why the FUCK wont atlantic ship 10 round mags to california
Anyone get a Tabuk kit?
>>65196395He's outside his expertise. Similar to his video on the AUG.There's some absolutely amazing videos out there from Valgear on the gun as well as Brandon Mitchell. What's most interesting to me is that they mention Russia mass issuing AP tungsten core ammo to their assaulters. Surprising they're able to tbqhwy.
>>65197297i've seen Brandon Mitchell's video, it's pretty good, i always like his videos. as for Vaalgear, i'd like to see his overview of the type 3 AK-12
How much would /akg/ pay for this SGL-21?https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1180403912
>>65196356Super clean, ID on the magwell? Is that a clone AK-12 stock?
>>65197522>SGL-21It's the closet you could get to a 103 clone that is not parts kit or a burger copy, my max would be $1650, I'm aware it will never go that low.
>>65197587NTAYou can buy that stock from Sureshot. It's $45.
Are the WASR-10’s they’re making today around the same quality of the ones from 10 years ago if I just want a descent range AK?
>>65197702I hear they're actually better now. The older ones were notorious for wobbly magwells and canted sights
>>65197702WASRs have been fine since ~2008.
>>65196298Would a civilian reproduction of these even be feasible? People would sell their kidney to get one, of course. But what about the technology/legality of it?
>>65197783The whole concept and design of that gun revolves around the 2 round burst feature which would be unusable. It would be retarded
>>65197702>>65197766>>65197780They are better. I have a 2018 WASR that is extremely solid and well built but completely pre-scratched and rougher uneven phosphate finish. The hammer pin and spring were installed very crooked with one end of the pin out of the hammer pin hole. It still ran perfectly like that. But I got a new 2024 WASR and it is much nicer. No scratches, nicer looking finish, everything installed correctly and straight.
>>65197783>civilian reproductionIt's complicated to make > more expensive to make > startup company goes out of business. It's a classic cycle of someone a making a repro of niche gun.
>>65197702Wasr good. Ive got wasr10/63, wasr2, wasr3Sar better still if you are ok dealing with gunbroker, i have sar1,2,3. Here's most of my romanians
>>65197587Magwell is an aluminum one unsure of origin got it from a friend. It's pretty friggin sturdy and doesn't move at all, has a clip that pinches it inside the trigger guard.Stock is as the other anon said, Sureshot AK-12 clone that'll fit a milspec buffer tube.

>>65198551Romania best.Also wasr3 vs sar3 bolts. I literally dont know why
Meant to post
Do the Riley Defense “AK100” parts actually fit Saiga rifles? No experience with them.
>>65198665I wouldn't assume that they do. I can't speak for their 100 series parts, but when it comes to their Krink parts I do know that the barrel components are oversized to the point they won't work with any barrels besides the ones that Riely sells.>>65196356fake OKP gang
>>65198374So you're the reason I can't find a Romy wire folder.Nice Romys, fren.
shot my 250th SAM5 today finally. It's pretty gud, I think I am a permanent 556 AK convert at least until 762 drops below 50cpr again. Currently have an M85 and the SAM5, what other 556 AKs should I get? Thinkin Beryl if they bring back the full larp set for sale
>>65199024Gen 1 Galil Ace, especially if you can find one that’s been converted to take original Galil mags like picrel
>>65199038already got one lol, but it's in 762 sadly, actually shot them both today and ngl I prefer the SAM5 and traditional AKs in general. Just more fun to run
>AK>shotgun AK>submachine gun AK>machine gun AK>sniper AKWhy does Russia love AK so much?
>>65199268>no dom-machine gun
>>65198955I have taken a few off the market no doubt but the real fuckery is buying crutch folders. This took me forever to source
>>65199268>no belt fed AK in pic>machine gun AKwhere's that?>SVD is not an AKit should've been PSL but that's not russian :)
>>65199397Looks like a photo of a "weapons cache" uncovered by police XD
>>65197522Would a saiga converted in exactly the same manner be worth as much?
>>65199942I honestly don't know, maybe the saiga route is better.
>>65197522Personally would go over $2000, more than likely will sell for around $2400 + tax + shipping + tip + adoption fee
>>65199942It’ll practically be the same thing if done correctly with correct parts but the “original” converted ones (yes they were still converted after entering the US) like the SGL demand a premium because they’re professionally done by a certain group and marked a certain way, literally.
>>65200460>would go overI meant I wouldn’t go over as in $2000 would be my absolute limit
Thank you Xie Ping Ping, very cool! The only giveaway that it's Chinese is the rangefinder: instead of the Russian/Belarusian comma (1,7m) it has a period (1.7m)
>>65196277OP - Elven magazine glows in the presence of Orcs?
>>65200468>>65199942A converted Saiga will always be worth less than an SGL despite being the same gun at its core.Consider a BMW E30. Is an E30 M3 worth the same as an E30 316s upgraded with aftermarket parts that are more-or-less the same an M3? Of course not.
>>65200935It’s about reputation, some small no-name builder could be as equally skilled and have equal quality to Jim Fuller but no way they can get away with charging as much.
>>65200923Cool. Looks like the same company that made my OKP. The packaging is the exact same. It even included a copy of the instructions in Russian. How's the scope itself?
>>65200932If it was elvish, wouldn't it glow blue?
>>65201029I would have guessed Elven blue as well but maybe Russian Elves had different magical color palettes?
>>65199935I can't take pictures
>>65198374Just wanted to say I love your collection bro.
>>65198955If you need one badly you can use a wasr 10 paratroopers as a donor for the folder?
>>65196277Is that a noxious halberd?
>>65200991I thought the same thing (I also have a knockoff OKP)Light gathering looks good, eye relief is suspect but I think thats more related to the design of this optic in general rather than the country of origin. It's also why these rubber eye cups are so handy
>>65201938
The US AK market is so bad that I'm considering getting an airsoft AK instead of a real one.
>>65201591Thanks man. It takes time
>>65203265Buy an import. Buy yugo/serbian or Romanian and bulgarian for new stuff.Go on gunbroker for older stuff. Saying the market is bad means you arent paying attention and putting effort it.
>>65203265As a cuckstater I empathize.Won't be long now until WA bans airsoft and BB guns because of trans racism or something.
>>65198374Nice collection of Romanians
>>65199024M90!
>>65203333 (Checked)>>65203343Milled MAK90? Factory 386?Also pretty sage advice. The AK market is always kinda fucked so if you're just a surface level enthusiast, you're not really gonna find deals/cool shit. You gotta dig scrounge and scour to find shit>I liken it to old school turtablists who "dig through the stacks" in a dingy record store basement to find the sample they're looking for vs just buying a record upstairs

>>65204802Its so bizarre to me that the yugo rpk have 2 hole handguards vs everything else they made being 3 hole.
>>65204371Unfortunately I have to shoot left due to a missing eye. How centered over the bore are these?
>>65204823The initial prototypes for the zastava rpk, the m65, had quick change barrels. It never got adopted, instead simplified into the m72. But they stuck with the same handguard design/length, among other things, for some reason. Maybe tooling was already set up for it
>>65205527Here's another photograph
Wish I bought a PKA Venezuela when they were $229 :(
>>65205846I was THIS close to buying one of those $600 rguns matching tula akm kits years ago, but then I saw a non matching m70ab2 with ak builder barrel included for like 250, and bought it instead. Eh same thing right? Kicking myself over that.
>>65205846I bought a upo1 when they were cheap and it sucks still. Obzor looks really nice
>>65205846One of my few good decisions
I'm working on rebuilding my AK in 300AAC ever since my Type 84-S exploded itself.I cannot find for the life of me a vendor who stocks one.Can an anon recommend me a vendor? I was looking at Vortakt.
>>65206235A barrel? AK-Builder.But you can't just come in here saying wild shit like "My Type 84-S exploded" without telling the story.
>>65204343Track where they came from then.
>>65204823picked up this paratrooper wasr, it's really cool
>>65206259I wonder how well a repro of that dong would sell.
>>65206259Nice bakelite dong. That alone is probably worth whatever you paid.
>>65206290ntahis looks like a knockoff
>>65206319It does look a little "off". But who's making knock offs of an obscure AK part? Airshitters? All the AIMR airshit guns I could turn up have just a regular dong.I need to find one, now I'm curious if they're as fragile as their real counterparts.
>>65206338redditards love dongs (as expected) and will pay dumb amounts of money for new made ones for yugos and shit. so i'm sure someone does. ive seen wood "replicas" of the aims style one, so i imagine there's plastic ones out there
>>65206243>be me, left-handed retard >shooting my Type-84S innadesert with PPU rangemaster 5.56>suddenly>face blasted with gas and spicy dust>oh_fuck.jpg>function check gun>won't load rounds>field strip, see pic related Not pictured, but the front trunnion also cracked.I haven't decided whether PPU sent me a spicy round or Chinese pot metal AK just reached it's natural conclusion but I sure am glad I didn't take any shrapnel to the face.So I decided to disassemble and rebuild the whole thing.I have checked AK-Builder but they don't have any 300AAC barrels in stock for AKs, I'll reach out to them to ask what's up.
>>65206347Another view of the fracture.I couldn't find a good picture of where the trunnion broke since I checked it after pulling it out of the receiver recently but it had two missing chunks where it interlocked with the bolt.
>>65204466>Bayos>Rare magsSweet, ID on second from the left? Where you came across the bosnian mag?
>>65206280>>65206290>>65206319I was wondering that too, because it actually is a repro made out of wood. A REALLY good repro. I'm putting it up for sale if anyone wants it, how much do you think it would go for?
>>65206361>trunnion brokeOuch, that's gotta hurt, PPU has good track record I doubt it's the ammo.
>>65206361>>65206347That sucks I'm sorry your gun took a shit. Bad gun for it to happen to as well. Hard to say if it was the trunnion that failed or bad ammo, I'm more inclined to believe the latter but PPU usually is good. Could just call up Polytech and ask riiiiiight?Anyway if you're on AKFiles hit up Obsteperous. He's made all kinds of barrels.
>>65206388Put it up on ak files and see how much people bid for it
>>65206388I'd say probably around $60-$80. You'd get more money selling it to redd*tors though. Do that on comblocmarket
>>65206394i didn't know you can set up an auction on the files how do you do that?
>>65206399You can't. Might catch a ban for trying too (boomer mods have no sense of humor either).Best bet would be to list it high and accept offers.
>>65206388>how much do you think it would go for?Given the going rates for repro dongs and the obscurity of the original, probably a nice chunk of change. As others have said list it high and take offers.>~$350 obo
>N.O.S. furniture: worth $$$$>value goes down the more wear it has, until you get to the point where it either has bullet holes or it looks like the previous owner was killed by flamethrower holding the gun>then its worth $$$$ againkinda funny when you think about it
>>65206447AK dorks are funny sometimes.
>>65206377Rifle is an SLR-107FR, mag is a ribbed 103.
>>65206377Also, I got the fleur from theakforum like 20 years ago for $70.
>>65206590>20 years ago for $70.Who can I blame for things costing more money?
>>65206621I'll give you a hint - they have funny little hats.
>>65206661Shalom!
Anybody have a set of the old style wasr furniture they want to sellThe practically unfinished laminate basically
>>65206581Why are the 103s known as "ribbed" and these are "channel"? Is it because the Molot plums are called "ribbed" and it's just to avoid confusion?>I've referred to the Ribbed 103s as channel more than a few times. Also not necessarily asking these to you directly, more just thinking out loud.
>>65206725 Here's a ribbed 103 marked as channel, which is why it made me think of this.
>>65206725>>65206728It's because of the appearance comparative to each other and other 7.62x39 AK mags (bakelite and other "slabside" mags, mostly). The "ribbed" mags look like reinforcement ribs sticking out from an underlying surface. The "channel" mags look more like recesses (or channels) in a larger surface. That's my theory at least, I'm not the one who decided this nomenclature nor do I have a source stating why one general term is used over another.
>>65206736>I'm not the one who decided this nomenclature nor do I have a source stating why one general term is used over another.Gordy's gone, man. We'll be looking to you for all information about stylistic choices in nomenclature in the future.I'll be outside. Good luck.
>get a p226 leejun in a trade >take it to the range once, put a couple hundred rounds through it and decide I don't want it>manage to trade it for a never shot vepr 12I've really been wanting one of these for the past couple years, feels like I won bigly. So I can call myself an AK owner now... right?
>>65206901Fully welded folder?I tend to disbelieve unfired claims, especially if someone went through the trouble of timing that Xbox fuckhueg GK brake.Regardless, still a nice acquisition. If you plan on keeping it, I'd ditch the brake (unless you plan on shooting 3" slugs a lot) and get a Mod choke at least.>So I can call myself an AK owner now... right?Well you own an AK, so sure? Why you need to identify with what you own is beyond me, but you do you chief.
>>65206901get an FRT for ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fvp_h5POWlg
>>65207127Where does one find one of these mythical VEPR-12 FRTs?I've seen speculation that one "should" work, but nothing definitive.
>>65207113>Fully welded folder?Nope, it's fixed. I actually didn't know welded stocks were a thing, now I wish mine was one lol.I initially dismissed the previous owner claiming it was unfired in the ad but after getting it in my hands and opening it up I really don't see any signs of use at all. Plus the guy said he already had a factory SBS version so this probably just sat around in the box until he felt like getting rid of it.A choke would be great, I agree. I plan on getting a couple 10 or 12 round mags and maybe even a drum and bringing it out to 3 gun for shits and giggles so that'll probably be more useful than a brake. Looks like there's also a choke with threads for a brake so doubling up might be fun as long as it's not too unwieldy.>>65207127I'll be honest that's one of the first things I looked up when I was planning on getting it. Doesn't really seem like anyone's tried to install one and I don't feel like trying either. It'd probably be hilarious the first couple times with a drum but I already pretty much only put my MPX into fun mode as a party trick for others to try, I don't really want one that'll only do FRT on a shotgun unless someone's made a 3 way AK FRT that I haven't heard of yet.
>>65207148No idea but I have faith in our autists. We've FRT'ed an SKS recently after all.
>>65207836but what i want to know is how reliable a new FRT is
>>65207995AKs in general are behind where ARs are and I dont think we'll see a cassette style drop-in that's reliable soon. But who knows.I want to get a reliable one for my ARs before the ban hammer swings, I'm just dragging my feet.
>>65206901>p226 for vepr 12Congrats, In my eyes that is basically a steal, the best ak in 12 ga that you could get besides converting a saiga.
is the aps dong any good? Also my draco sbr stamp came in what folding stock should I use? I was thinking about the bonesteel one
>>65208716They're g2g but slow.Jimmy a Vz.58 stock.
>>65208161i mean AR FRTs seem to be good to go so far, like the Rare Greed ones. The Partisan drop-in ones look cool. People out there supposedly have thousands of rounds with no fails.
>>65206590>$70couldn't you get OG barrel romy G kits for less than that back then?
>>65209024I know there's a whole general for it so I'll ask more questions there, but are there any benefits/drawbacks between drop-in FRTs versus a 3 pos SS? If I'm even phrasing that correctly. Here's an AK
>>65209129Nah they were double that. There's a wts thread on theakforum with a romy g kit from 2007 for $130. I built my first g kit in 2010 and they had risen to ~$300 by then. But yeah, I thought I was retarded for buying a mag for $70 at that time. Pic is my g kits, built them as a standard akm and akms

>>65210075I think they were cheaper before the 2005 barrel ban. I'm sure they had scalpers back then doubling their money since you couldn't import any more after thatHere's a screenshot of a post from February 2005, before the ban was enacted 9-10-2005Its an amd65 but those were worth more than the romy g's
Bought 4 Chinese flatbacks for $15 eachGood deal They also had a type 81 mag, kind of unusual in the US, those worth anything?
>>65210947Type 81 mags are collector's pieces mostly, I don't think you could even get a price for it because of how few there are in the country. Any searching online brings you to Canadian merchants, and their prices aren't comparable (and are for 5 round mags anyway).Keep it around as an oddity, you won't get a good price for it trying to sell it off unless you find one of the people who owns one of the 20 or so rifles in the country.
>>65211049For 15 bucks I'll pick it up, its just neatPrevent some draco user from buying it and wondering why it won't work lol
>>65206361Not to be a dick but this is why I won't pay the 3-7k premium for the esoteric kalashnikovs knowing that eventually this may happen either from a bad batch of powder or the gun itself being a lemon.
>>65199024Beryl for sure. Is your SAM5 a 61 prefix serial (2021 production)? I got one on the sale and mine is. Front sight is just barely canted, I'm hoping it has the restrictor installed. Haven't shot it yet.
I got some cans of Rapco 30118 Camouflage Field Drab Brown coming for an AR, should I paint my SAM7SF or a lesser AK like a WASR or a Jack?
>>65196277Updates from le milkman-Ar is done mechanically (posted in /arg/)-same guy that did the AR popped out a punch and the rest of the rivets that were stuck in my MPiKM rear trunnion for free and my flat came in, so its about time for be to bend some metal.-boomer with $100 shop press is back from vacay, next weekend i will go and pick that up to do the AKM and my CETME, but that's /brg/-Going shooting to sight in my AR and the temu red dot i bought for shits n gigs for like 20 buck a month or so back. Brought that gun from the dead btw, fucker went through a house fire and the og barrel was deformed and bent, 90% of that gun is replaced, functions fine enough. pic is of said sks
Anyone have a guide for good builders? I have a milled Bulgarian kit that I'm too lazy to build myself.
>>65212775Where do you live
>>65213676PA
>>65196277Zastava AK, one of the newer ones, does this look like serious damage on the bolt carrier or regular wear? Ignore the heavy grease The edge right under the bolt, the one that contacts the hammer seems like it's not straight and is rounding over. Gun was bought brand new, it fired something like 100 rounds
>>65213810It cycles normally and feeds like it should, I just noticed it today, also the inside round edge where the bolt is feels sharp
>>65213827Look at your hammer and your carrier tail, compare the wear on those. It might just be "wearing in" and then the wear will rest at a consistent point. It doesn't look that bad, even for such a low round count. It wouldn't hurt to file down the sharp edges though either, you're not going to work that metal back to the original shape and I personally would rather not cut myself disassembling my own guns.
>>65213843Here's what the hammer looks like, there's surface wear which is what I expected and it's basically just bluing taken off, nothing I'd worry about I don't think it was possible to have this much wear on the bolt carrier part just for cycling the bolt with the hammer pulled back, it makes no sense to me
>>65213866If there's wear on your carrier, that means your hammer is harder than your carrier. If the only wear on the hammer is finish, then this is doubly the case.If the carrier tail isn't mushrooming too much, you have nothing to worry about. The carrier tail is the first part to touch the hammer, so MOST of the wear should be on that face, unless your hammer is slightly (a few thousandths) too high. If it is, not really a problem unless your wear progresses much faster in the next few hundred rounds.Just file down the sharp edges so you don't cut yourself. It is genuinely too early to tell if your wear is premature or not, it could just be parts "wearing in" to each other and then the wear stops.
>>65213885Here's the carrier tail and the part I was talking about, the carrier tail has some wear and peening on it but I've heard that's completely normal, not so sure about the part under it. A couple of times instead of dry firing, I used to pull the bolt handle back until that touches the hammer and I'd squeeze the trigger so it all drops without too much clanking, but I don't know I highly doubt that's what started screwing the carrier up..
>>65213915That looks like it was just the parts wearing in to a resting place for tolerances, they all look fine. File down the sharp spots, then keep shooting. It's most likely fine, just check on it sporadically, around 1000 rounds or so and then every 500-1000 depending on how anal you want to be about it.You're just too early in round count to really know which it is between wearing in or wear, like I said.
>>65213952Alright thanks anon and sorry for the noob question, I also suspected it was normal wear in but just wanted to check with experienced people Laws in my country are alright but replacing some parts sucks because stuff like barrels and carriers require about the same amount of paperwork as buying a new gun so it's a headache

Who the fuck came up with ak being inaccurate myth? Gamer virgins, Hollywood or podcast operators? I'm not new to shooting (not an expert either) but new to shooting AKs, managed to hit a 10 cm (4 inch) wide target at 100 meters twice using iron sights today, I'm convinced it works nicely and every miss is my fault. I didn't shoot a lot but I plan to do it more often next time from 200, this is way more enjoyable than any other rifle I've had the chance of using. I don't even want to buy any kind of optics or scope for it, the sights are great
>>65215356Forgot to add one thing I think is dumb is the P/0/battle zero setting on the rear sight, it's essentially the same as if you were to set it at 300 meters and I didn't find any use of it, used the 100m setting instead

Can anyone with a folding trunnion take some measurements of their push button for me? I'm making a part and I need to get a wide variety of measurements so I can accommodate as many manufactures as possible. I already have a commercial Bulgarian part so if you've got any of the military varieties, PSA, Riley etc. hook me up with the dimensions and I'll give you guys first dibs once its ready. I need the diameter and length of the main shaft and then the horizontal length of the latch. Would greatly prefer the measurements be done in mm but I'll take whatever.

>>65215356>Who the fuck came up with ak being inaccurate myth?Probably came about in Vietnam or Africa due to fighting retard conscripts who didn't know how to use their rifles effectively. If you massacred a bunch or tards but never bothered to fire one of their AK's for yourself you would probably conclude that they died because their commie gear was dogshit not because they were stupid and didn't know how to use it correctly. >>65218327by the way do you use the front sight flip up? it's a strange sight picture considering the dot is in the center of a round paddle and i find it hard to believe it works out to 200 let alone closer in because of how much space it takes up in the sight picture.
>>65218342Nta but I also have a zastava just a different one than yours and the flip up front sights are useless, they're just a cool feature that makes the gun more sophisticated. This is because it's too wide as you said and because almost every ak in existence has a front sight post off center from the factory when they zeroed it, so when you flip the sight it covers the real sigh post and you'd have to hold over from memory which is dumb.
>>65218392Meant to say if you wanna shoot in the dark, you'll be better off painting the front sight post in something easily visible and using only the rear flip up night sights if you have them

The part that interfaces with the button wedge is gonna have to be laser cut (very cheap to produce but not very accurate, dimensions can vary between parts) I might end up shipping the part with an undersized hole so the user can open it up with a file until their button locks into the part. Obviously, I would provide instructions and a rectangular pilot hole. Am I asking too much/creating too much friction for the customer? Groza parts came in today. Mostly happy with it aside from a few things. Of those issues, most are due to me kludging together my Krink base out of an AKM and 4 different manufacturers. The only thing I can get upset about is that fact that they forgot to ship the screw that attaches the carry handle to the front sight, and the optic rail is too fucked up to install. The optic rail is polymer with threaded brass inserts which is fine but unfortunately one of those inserts is so crooked the screw won't line up. All of the other parts are great. The linkage system looks almost identical to the old Century Arms bullpup. It's basically a wire that spans between the hook of the rear trigger to a hinge on the front trigger. My kit came with a modified military trigger but some of them have a newly manufactured FCG. If you try pulling it while on safe you can feel the springy-ness, but I don't notice it much when actually letting the hammer drop. I made my own mag latch to cope the Groza look better and I'll probably end up cutting off the kink sights too because they poke me in the face when aim. Not required but it is uncomfortable. Also, I regret building this in 7.62x39. The magazine inserts angle sucks, I can't insert anything besides 10 rounders and even then, it feels gross as fuck. Gonna have to chop my grip or something. That's basically it. You have nothing else to worry about if you're putting it on a PSA kink but if you're going to install it on a kit build or something there's some extra things you should consider. I'm using a Romanian AKM front trunnion and Recreator 7.62 Krink barrel which have turned out to be too loose. The lower housing needs shimming on the receiver end, and the barrel clamp is too large to properly clamp down on the recreator barrel. Not a big deal, I expected to have to do that a bit. Allegedly the Riley krinks need major modifications.
The other thing you should consider is how you cut your handguard retainer slot. The Groza doesn't use the existing slot. The Krink handguard retainer just flops around, acting like a washer for the barrel clamp to push the lower housing reward into the receiver. You can't cut another slot either because it's too close to the existing slot. So, if you're using a virgin barrel, you could hypothetically cut your slot a bit more forward. Of course, this would preclude you from ever installing Krink handguards again without major shimming, but I think it would be more secure.
>>65223640saw one of these at the gun store when i was picking up my krink and i half wanted it and was half disgusted. as a novelty it looked cool. they had an AUG for about a grand and i really want that, might still get it

>>65226008i love dongs but most the dracos i see are ugly as fuck, especially short ones. my states banning them so i had to pick one and i went with a pap
>>65225967>between the -maybe not a pipebomb anymore- and the -POS that's built like shit- I would think most people here would take the -maybe not a pipebomb anymore-"Most people here" would avoid both because no one with sense wants to be the guinea pig when it comes to suspect guns; in this case, "being the guinea pig" has a sizeable non-zero chance of you needing reconstructive surgery if the gun kabooms, which is far more expensive than just buying a known "safe" product instead where the odds are far more in your favor.Pioneer has a history of lying about their guns and who makes them, so you can't trust anything they say unless it's proven by outside testing. WBP has never tried to obfuscate that they may or may not be FB Radom like Pioneer has.Beryl firing pins also don't fit in WBP 5.56 bolts either afaik. AoA has replacement WBP free-float pins (original ones were spring loaded, they might all be free-floating now but I'm not sure) for sale though, they're $20.
Like new 7.62 saiga, dimples, $1250, worth it?
>>65226016Yeah I don't like the shorter ones much either, though I did see a guy who set one up with a surplus laminate stock and a deadair wolverine that looked interesting.>>65226017>would avoid bothDon't make me ask you the breakfast question, it was a hypothetical. As for the beryl firing pin you're right I was confused thinking of people using the WBP pins.
>>65224411They were breifly imported not too long ago iirc like a year or too ago.
>>65226034if it's fully converted yeah, if it's not, no
Stuff and Things sent me the missing parts a few hours after emailing them so yay. Still have to fuck with the optic rail but that won't be hard to fix. >>65223753Magwell is a good idea. I remember someone used to make a straight insert one, but they're defunct now. Ended up having to modify the grip after fiddling with it for an hour to no avail. Just cut off about 30 degrees from the corner of a grip I made a few months ago. I can easily jam a 40 up in there now and it didn't really reduce the real grip-able area.
Should I get anything else before the ban? I was thinking about a 556 ak but ive already spent a lot and don't think I really need itI got a M7012" Draco - SBRJTS AK 12 gauge16" AR10.3" AR pistol1 AR lower for SBRSpringfield HellionSpringfield M1ABeretta 92FSRuger Mark IVand lots of mags/ammo/accessories
>>65226815I needed a replacement internal trigger, but the new one they sent me was out of spec. I ended up grinding down the original one. QC seems to be all over the place right now. I did mine in 300blk so the mags are only a little bit fucky.
Got my rifles from the Arsenal sale. SAM5 will look much better with 24mm threads.
>>65226856Get another cheap plinker, like a 22 AR, CP33, 10/22, also stop going into debt.
>>65226916Can you take a picture of your SAM7SF stock pin? Mine was not staked and the pin keeps walking out.
>>65226984I plan on getting a 10/22 but im pretty sure only the large mags are getting banned (which I already bought) so the gun wasn't a top priority for me
>>65226892>the brace on a bullpoop
>>65226985From the top. Same depth on both sides. Where is the staking?
>>65226916You could always just change the FSB for one that has 24mm threads, 24mm threads are a part of the post and not the barrel itself.
>>65226990Get a G3 and MP5 while you can too. You might not want one now but you will.Fuck Washington. Top 5 worst states for gun rights in the union. I'll concede not THE worst but certainly top 5 now, top 3 when our version of the FOID goes into effect next year.Woah the black market for guns has gotten huge that's so weird guys why is this happening woaaaahhhhhh
>>65227056Check it out, you can fold the brace to the side to lower the OAL and improve the handling.
>>65227124Yep, that's the plan. I can't believe they shipped these 14x1, so stupid.
>>65227132>FOIDThat term always makes me laugh when you realize these antigun laws were passed by women.
>>65227158The FOIDs in charge of WA are the worst kind too - Karens and communists.
>>65227154You have any hands experience with the SLR series? Was curious about getting a SAM but already have an aresenal, not sure if I want another.
>>65226892>bracejej
>>65227177Yeah, I have the 107FR and I debanned a 105. They're excellent, wish Arsenal would stop the milled autism and go back to stamping.
>>65227154easy fix
>>65227190>SLR-105That's pretty rare. Isn't there only less than 200 of those imported?
>>65227208Not sure. Bought it cheap off some retard boomer getting red flagged. His kids were gonna turn it over to the cops.
>>65227208>>65227217fuck forgot pic. he had it dressed up in tapco slop and was using magpul mags, lol.
>>65227217Kinda sad, but at least it went to someone that would appreciate it and get destroyed by the police.
>>65227222I'm guessing to debanned it you just added the lug for a bayo and got threaded?
>>65227223I blame boomers for raising antigun kids. My kids are obsessed with firearms and any type of projectile.>>65227226Ban config was no accessory lug or bayonet lug, and unthreaded 74 fsp. Pressed off gas block and fsp, pressed on surp bugly parts. ez
>>65227133I am not dogging it that's amazing
>>65227123Thanks, thats what mine looked like but the pin kept walking out. I taped it for a while then eventually staked it with an automatic center punch
>>65226815>Ended up having to modify the grip after fiddling with it for an hour to no avail.A whole hour? Lel.>Just cut off about 30 degrees from the corner of a grip I made a few months ago.At least you're not ruining surplus grips, I guess. Still kinda retarded, but maybe you're correct. Without hands on, I have to rely on your opinions, but you're clearly an impatient retard. ;^)I bet that grip was nice before you ruined it though. You hand make the ferrules too?Dunno about straight insert magwells, but there's still the Solar Tactical ones available. Also I found this, which looks like a clone of the SolTac, but a little cheaper. It's only $30, so might be worth a shot; and then you can use normal grips without having to take the bandsaw to 'em. https://4shooters.com/product/ak-magwell.html>the soltac, jic https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-magazine-parts/ak-47-magazine-well/
wtf I want a surplus OPFOR Arsenal now.
>>65227198I may do something like that to my saigaJust with everything welded in the correct spot, and one of pic rel threaded bushing if I can find/make oneCheaper than paying $300 for ak100 components
>>65227198That looks like absolute dog shit
>>65227702Thank you for the links>You hand make the ferrules too?Yep. I had all the materials on hand, so it was cheaper to make it. >maybe you're correctTo be fair It wasn't completely unexpected. In the pre-order promo, they warned that 7.62 users would likely have to choose between Dremeling a relief in their mags, chopping their grip, or buying an as of yet unreleased special grip. There's not a lot of these in the wild yet, but I have seen other people having to circumcise their 7.62 versions. Time will tell if I'll be vindicated or lambasted as a retard.
>>65228579>Thank you for the linksyw>they warned that 7.62 users would likely have to choose between Dremeling a relief in their mags, chopping their grip, or buying an as of yet unreleased special grip.I see, so I was uninformed. My bad.>but I have seen other people having to circumcise their 7.62 versionsThat's kinda lame. Why not make the grip hole a few mm forward for the 7.62 versions then? Probably too big a pain to do multiple slightly different runs or something.Guess they should've just stuck with this design instead of a Groza knock off, at least for 7.62x39 guns.>Time will tell if I'll be vindicated or lambasted as a retard.Total redemption, fren. A thousand apologies.Hopefully you enjoy your Groza at home, despite my misgivings.

>>65227675Ah shit. Did you stake top and bottom, right in the center or a little offset?
How's the AK-12 (and its variants)?
>>65228766I have only played with one of those “CY” training/parade AK-12 parts kit that have been imported, field stripping is pretty cool, its looks cool, the furniture is all right, I personally think there is better after market furniture that performs better. Never shot it, but I can tell you is not worth the price of how much they go for.
Nova thredo: >>65229280
>>65228736I just staked the top. I'd just shoot and see if its an issue first.
