Iron Claw by Black Beard Customs. It works on basic 92s and M9s, doesn't require a threaded barrel. Pic related here is an option you could try from Jarvis. It threads on and has a set screw under the comp that keeps it from spinning off. I used blue loctite on it and it came loose once but I'm a little iffy on throwing some red on there in case it never comes off again.

What a valuable post.
>>
>Lose one of the paddle shift plastic housing only chinkshit X300 Ultra clone
>Paddles and momentary on still work, it just no longer has the plastic bit on the right side.
>Was considering just buying an aftermarket replacement, realize that the real X300 tailcap is just $12 more
>whatthehellwhynot.jpg
>thinking this will never work with my fake X300
>arrives today
>fits like a glove
>works perfect

I paid more for the genuine OEM tailcap than I did for the fucking light itself. Tell me why again does surefire charge over $300 for a flashlight that goes on your gun?
>>
>>65244593
I mostly stick to Streamlight. I bought a real X300 and I don't get why it was so expensive. The new Streamlight shit is just as durable and puts out even more light at much further distances with their proprietary batteries that are basically higher voltage CR123s with USB-C charger ports on them. Surefire just can't fucking compete anymore. They never update anything and they never really add anything new to the conversation. They're like Trijicon in that way.
>>
>>65244609
Military contracts dictate their designs, not commercial markets.
Maybe is LAPD or NYPD ask for something specific, you'll get something new.
>>
>>65244593
because they ARE overcharging you. Lights aren't that complicated. You'll never catch me laying full price for one again. It should have been really obvious that lights are a meme when harbor freight put out a TLR1 clone for 40 bucks
>>
>Anons are retarded
>Surefire gets military contract for light.
>It is written in ALL military procurement contracts that military gets discount for ordering so many
>Companies got wise and started overcharging military and then giving them a "discount"
>Companies cannot sell to civilian market for less than military contracts before discounts
>Civilian market will buy it anyways
it's not a hard concept to understand
>>
>>65244633
It's bullshit price fuckery and hopefully one day someone with balls is going to grow a pair and do something about it.
>>
>>65244641
>why doesn't someone make a company that's cheaper than surefire?!
>NOT YOU STREAMLIGHT
>>
>>65244633
I would imagine Streamlight is eating their fucking lunch right now in the civilian market. They're gonna do a Colt and rest on their contracts and then suddenly "oopsie poopsies". They have shown off new pistol lights multiple times that never came out. They had one in like 2017 that I was interested in. Never happened.
>>

>>
>>65246270
Dots on handguns just make no sense to me. Never have. Irons always work and I don't need or want the bulk. I'm in my late 30s so maybe I'll change my tune in 20 years when my eyes get worse but I've never had an issue hitting what I need to hit with irons.
>>
>>65246279
I have a leaning suspicion it’s just what I’m most used to, kind of like revolver boomers. That being said, dots are fantastic. Fast. I just keep hitting brightness issues where I’m constantly having to adjust the brightness. Haven’t found a happy medium yet. Either it’s too dim for outdoors or too bright for low-light/indoors. Trivial to adjust, but in practice annoying. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced and/or sorted this out
>>

Dots are much faster and more precise once you learn how to use them

There is a reddit thread about fitting p01 grips on a shadow 2 compact. Looks like it will require a slight amount of dremel work to line the grips screw holes up, and even then the grip frame contours are not quite the same between the two models so the grip panels will stick out a tiny bit on the backstrap. If you don't want to bother with that and you're dead set on wood grips, then grips4u sells shadow 2 compact wood grips for $69. Don't think anyone else makes wood grips for it yet.

Doesn't have the projectile design to expand to .45 ACP levels, subsonic .45 can expand to .9 - 1.0 depending on ammo (~.7 minimum).
>9mm capacity
it doesn't have the same capacity as 9mm, why not just carry a 10mm converted to.40 (benefits of a larger frame and recoil assembly to shoot .40)

Why not just get a high capacity .45 ACP? .45 ACP has a longer historical lineage, it's a descendant of the .44 Colt Walker revolver (fired a .45 lead ball through a .44 barrel). Americans have been carrying .45 caliber side arms for 180 years.

Miller Precision makes a shorter aluminum grip module meant for 120mm mags, which you can cut a relief into the bottom to fit the 113mm Prodigy compact mag or MBX defender mag. Similar how my build is the 126mm mag grip module with a relief cut for the 120mm mag to sit flush

> Welp that's unfortunate as I think they're the only one making that size 45 magazine. There goes my plan.
I might have fucked up, or the prodigy compact grip I was using makes the mag sit too low, or the infinity follower and mag is optimized for a ramped barrel while I’m using a standard .45 ACP feed ramp.

Right now using a prodigy or STI follower in the infinity mag makes it hold 9 rounds but I can’t get the last round to feed. It might also be that I had to swap the base pad to a STI style one instead of the infinity style. Maybe using Taran tactical +1 or other extension might help, also spring tuning. I tried tuning an Atlas extra power spring but I could not bend the thing to change the follower angle, that’s great in most circumstances but not here.

Having only 9 rounds kind of makes the exercise pointless in making a double stack IMO

MBX used to make 113mm .45 mags in their defender series (huge base pad to make the 120mm) for the relieved grips, like Cosaint .45 2011s with the commander grip. They stopped making them. I can’t find any.

The “relief” cut between the cheely commander grip and the one I was talking about are very different. The cheelys ones are actually cut to accept a 113mm MBX mag which would sit flush at 120mm with a huge base pad. The relief cut on the miller you’d only have to take off half as much material.

Also, STI 120mm .45 mags are in short supply. Dawson Precision is the only source for them and it's old stock they some how still have. I may pick a few more up but I have like 7-8 of the 120mms.

The benefits of using the 120mms is that you can easily find basepads for 126mm mags which are more common (Checkmate are now making them, MBX has them) is that you can get basepads that make them sit flush with 120mm grips as the extended spare mag.

https://dawsonprecision.com/staccato-sti-compact-120mm-45acp-10rd-magazine/

The now out of production MBX 120mm mags somehow had 13 rounds while STI could only fit 10/11 (the mag fits 11 if you push really hard, the mag spring isn't that strong so you can compress it to 11 rounds). The 126mm MBX mags fit 14 rounds while STI 126mm mags fit 11/12.

I've spent over a year on my Ultimate Conceal Carry Battle Pistol project and too much money. These are the two guns that have come out of it.

The 5 inch one has the 120mm Miller Precision grip module w/ infinity base pad since it looks cool. I have an issue with the miller precision grip, other wise it's an top tier grip module, is that it makes my trigger pull too light/sub 2 pounds. As that the 120mm size uses a proprietary hammer spring length (same length as Prodigy compact grip, not the same as a 1911 officer) where the heaviest I could get is 19 pounds and is just too short and crisp of the pull. No matter how much I bend the sear spring I can't raise the trigger pull since the hammer spring is so light. If I would do it again, I would use the 126mm Miller Precision grip and just relief cut it for the 120mm flush fit mag so I could use more common hammer spring sizes and weights.

The miller precision trigger bow is great where it combines over travel stop and a return spring. It's overtravel stop acts a trigger return spring so you can have a very positive reset built into the trigger.

I'm not going to lie everything you mentioned about the miller grip and trigger sound good to me, provided it's just barely sub 2 pounds and not 1 pound or less. What ignition parts are you using in that one?
>>
>>65249005
Harrison Custom Design Extreme Service with the True Radius
https://www.harrisoncustom.com/hd-120-ss-extreme-service-ignition-set
>The True Radius sear differs from my standard sear in that the sear nose primary contact surface is ground (and then polished) in a radius true with the sear pin hole, hence True Radius. Standard sears have the primary contact surface ground in a flat plane.
>In operation, the TR sear keeps even contact with the hammer hooks, so the hammer keeps neutral engagement with the sear. Life span is expected to increase, the part works well even in frames that have less than ideal hammer & sear pin spacing and parallelism and is much easier for the novice user to fit and get good trigger pull results.
Mainspring was some Wilson Combat one I had lying around.

I think I should be using this one
https://egwguns.com/sear-spring-1911-colt
https://www.harrisoncustom.com/hd-126-sear-spring

The hammer spring was 17 or 19, both are giving me ~1.9-2.0 lb pound pulls.

It also appears I have purchased the last 120mm Miller Precision "standard" Grip that allows the grip safety since they no longer allow you to select 120mm anymore.

I’m very happy with how it turned out. I want something better for the grip module, thinner, but aluminum I fear would make the 2011 recoil more harsh. I can bear it on the 5 inch with a tungsten guide rod but on my shorter 4 inch it’ll probably hurt. Steel grips are then too heavy for carry IMO, I can’t find anyone selling titanium grip modules

Maybe a MJD polymer grip (more rigid and strong versus other types) and a DIY grip reduction with a big file.
