So there went the main attraction of Ramstein. I thought the base itself kinda sucked. It looked pretty rundown (it looks like an Army base lol). Overcrowded. Worst parking situation I've seen on any base. Every process seemed like it was inspired by German bureaucracy, we regularly had people outprocessing for like three months. There's an absurdly massive BX/small mall, the novelty of which wore off after a month or so. A bunch of general life stuff, namely the hospital, is off base. German bullshit, wearing masks for two years. The testing center flooded and was closed indefinitely so I couldn't take my CLEPs and DSSTs.

I can see Ramstein being a really cool assignment, but as for the base itself... I think I would have hated it any year.

2nd MEPS trip tomorrow. Is navy full of retards? When I went with air force we were offered the choice of driving ourselves. This time I have to take the shuttle. Made the mistake of shuttle last time and I was stuck in MEPS for 5 hours longer than I should've because the driver took his sweet ass time. Since I already did the physical, I'm going to the hotel on the first day. This is retarded.

MEPS waivers have nothing to do with your branch of service, MEPS processes them as they come and are branch-agnostic. They usually take a few months, that's very typical. If it's something easy or simple it might take less time but again there's no hard and fast rules and the processor could just decide to do every waiver for eyesight one day and clear the entire log of those and you could get lucky and its two days after you put in for it.
Waivers are another reason you 1. Don't admit to anything and see what they have on you and 2. Start the paperwork early as soon as you think you might want to join so you have the next 6 months to really think about branch of service, job, etc. while you're waiting to sign contracts and ship.
