Bulgarian 74 built on a nodak nds 2 for 850. Should I? My concern besides ammo, is it's potentially a century built rifle. The actual Bulgarian parts seemed to match. Barrel is a US stainless steel barrel. I want it just to have a 74 but I'm also considering a zastava for like a few hundred more.

How well does US made Arsenal plum furniture match surplus plum? I have a triangle folder with surplus handguards and pistol grip on my 74 and years ago I had a black poly folding set, but I sold it because I liked the look of plum and triangle better. Vepr anon reporting in a day later, ended up only using it in the first stage and switched to my 1301 I brought as backup for the rest of the day. Didn't even entertain the idea of busting out the drum. Learned the hard way to not use the cheapest ammo I can get my hands on, in this case winchester white box, and I'm gonna try winchester AA instead at a friend's recommendation. A couple other guys in my squad who also had veprs (super tricked out Dissident Arms veprs at that) recommended federal action shotgun instead but that's more expensive and only comes in boxes of 200 so it's a full commitment.

You could put a rubber buffer in, you could put a KNS piston in, but it was just such a disappointing rifle for me that even if I did all that to fix it I’d still be mad that I even had to do any of that to fix a rifle that cost me $1800. I bought it to more or less replace 5.45 for me in an AK and I would legitimately rather shoot an overgassed short barreled AR without a can than shoot the SAM5. It had no reason to jump around as much as it did when shooting especially for a milled gun and the fact that it was literally damaging itself simply by functioning was something that would have just constantly bugged me even after doing what I could to remedy it. I don’t know if they fixed later batches with correct size gas ports or what, I sold mine a few months after buying it new because it was just such a crap experience.
