No gun is a mistake purchase. If you want to like it you will. The best handgun for you is the ine you like, if you're worried go touch one at a gun store and verify you can adequately wield it.

Slaving your dot to your irons to get an initial zero is perfectly fine. With that being said, your dot is going to be a finer point of aim than your irons, and will be easier to adjust perfectly, so once you get your dot perfectly zeroed, don't feel like you have to slave it to your irons. Also, your irons will operate on a slightly different plane than your dot, and so the two might look like they don't perfectly coincide when in fact both are actually zeroed, you're just perceiving them to not line up because of parallax shift.

Yes. People are morons that parrot things they don't understand and would certainly never bother to test or check for themselves.

I zeroed my RDS, and added irons later. I took care to center the irons on the slide. Aligning the irons on a bullseye places the dot about at the top/center of the front sight. If I need to re-zero the RDS, I can use that info. to get a rough start and reconfirm and fine tune the dot zero at 25.

How is this enforced? How often is it enforced? Can you point to a guntuber that stopped shilling because of this rule? I am looking at Sootch00's channel and it looks as shilly as ever. Every video looks like a paid ad.

If you are someone who places the dollar symbol after the dollar number, you aren't allowed to call anyone a nigger.
>>
>>65409459
shilling is the one thing yt audits pretty tightly because they want their cut of ad revenue and in an actual paid ad yt gets paid too. big channels are more tightly watched than small channels. idk about the guntuber space but its affected other types of creators a lot, even for stuff like kitchen appliances. sootch00's stuff is pretty ad like, but he gets away with it because nearly all his guns are loaners that he just does a mild demo of without really sharing much of an opinion. guys like him are basically "paid" in new things for viewers to come look at, but it's above board because he doesn't keep it, doesn't get a check, and doesn't say anything particular one way or the other.
>>
>>65409459

That is a function of the gun and the RDS, not the sights. You can always use lower sights and get a lower 1/3, or lower, cowitness.
>Dot fails the irons are there for backup perfectly in line (the big benefit)
Mmm, no, not really, doesn't matter.

>tiny hands
Don't get a berretta, get a PDP-f. They're literally designed for small hands with a decreased distance between the back of grip and trigger. Berrettas are MASSIVE bulky guns in comparison. Look at the difference in size between the back of the grip and the front of the trigger and now imagine your tiny fingers trying to reach that far while also maintaining perfect movement control.

Go with a PDP-f if you want a "full size" pistol for your hands.
>>
>>65409094
How tiny? But you can get thin grips and the new 92s, like the 92X, 92Xi, 92GTS all have thin grips stock. The 92 being big is a meme

Small hand anon, the people reccomending you the berretta like them because they don't have your outlier tiny hands. Walther makes a gun SPECIFICALLY tailored to you. A toyota corrola may be a good car for most people but Shaq would hate it.

Is firing a shot in a second directly from a holster draw just range theatrics? I've noticed most people who are really fast at these drills do them from an open carry tactical or comp. holster. Their speed would be borderline impossible from concealment. Maybe I'm just coping because my draw needs a lot of work.

My hands are medium-large and i have no issue with most of the controls on the 'retta

My only issue is due to my short thumb which makes flipping the safety a minor inconvenience, but after a week of handling and practicing my grip activating/de-activating the safety I found it quite easy.

Also the thin grips didn't make a difference to me since I didn't have a real issue with the palm swell or anything, just the thumb.
But it was a nice design change so I like them.

>>
>>65409738
I used to be like 1.5-2 before I started practicing seriously with a shot timer. Just practicing reaction time with the beep can shave at least .4-.5s. I start moving before the beep is over which is only .25 seconds long so I’m below .25s reaction time at least to this specific scenario.

It’s really fun and very satisfying to make new PRs. But I don’t think I can get better than .9 with an A zone as a PR but practice will make consistency.

people who have a problem with glocks can't shoot with proper fundamentals, they don't want to take the time to learn, and their ego won't let them declare it to be their own fault, then they blame the gun, that's the issue going on there.

Shooter global GO timer. It has enough adjustability to be perfectly usable in an indoor range as long as someone isn’t shooting a braked AR pistol right next to you. You can make drills and adjust settings with your phone over Bluetooth. The timer does have two buttons can be used without your phone with enough adjustment.

Their App has more features but you have to pay for them, like an AI helper that can add a shot timer to videos taken with your phone’s camera. No idea how well it works but the idea is that you can get metrics for your hat mounted camera if you were shooting USPSA and stuff.
>>

Glocks are in that sweet spot of "not bad enough to cause poor shooting" and "not good enough to forgive lazy fundamentals".

jw, why'd you buy that gun if you didn't like the trigger? You want excellent trigga you buy Walther, S&W (Apex) or 19/2011

For carry? The comped compact carry market is fast growing but still small. You could try stuff from brands with less lemons like the FN 509cc edge, sig 365 AXG Legion or you could get the radian and post about it here. I'd sure like someone to talk about one here with first hand expirence.

no. I'm not interested in striker TRASH except for glocks. pisTELLES are supposed to have hammers. all these other glock clones have no capacity for innovation so they just do retarded shit to differentiate them like cutting random lines and serrations and ports into the gun, giving it some gay colorations, or some other faggot ass barbie bullshit, while trying to disguise the fact that they actually just copied glock's homework. it's flashy garbage for losers who want attention and watch john whick. and that retard ethos has unfortunately even spread to the gen 6 glocks, with their ridiculous new look.

I've bought guns from friends multiple times, even as recently as this past weekend. 1) It probably helps your friend out because they are likely selling at a discount for a reason, i.e. they need the money and 2) you get a good deal on a underpriced gun that you can potentially resell later for a slight profit - hebrew mentality but it's basically free real estate
>>

I'm not sure if this is caused by the length of the beretta, but i feel like I'm waiting on the slide to finish reciprocating for a noticeable length of time between shots, and it's irritating to me. when i fire something like the glock 19 it's more like i can blast off shots as fast as i want to. for handguns I'm doing everything compact unless it's some sort of iconic gun like a 1911 or a mk. 23, might do a glock 17 or glock 20 too.
>>
>>65410645
If its for carry, then maybe a Springfield Hellcat, since you can buy flush-fit ten round magazines for it.

>>65410648
Do they not make 10 rnd flush fit mags for the P365x?
Looking for both a carry weapon and full size handgun, and figure if I'm gimped to 10 rounds I may as well get a .45 acp or something bigger than 9mm for the full sized
>>
>>65410678
Actually thinking about maybe gong 10mm for the full size for times when I'm innawoods with potential to run into bear, moose, mountain lions, etc.
>>
>>65410678
Yeah, the p365 has flush fit magazines. Its just that Sig Sauer has a bit of a bad reputation for the quality of their guns. The guns Springfield import for Croatia, like the Hellcat, seem to be overall good to go.
Also, if you really want a more poweful handgun round, then going from 9mm to .45 auto isn't as big of a jump as you think, in terms of stopping power.
At that point, maybe consider a 10mm.
>>
>>65410686

Blog alert: I find myself becoming a bit of a 1911 fanatic and it’s kind of awesome but also kind of frustrating because I don’t share any of the horseshit TWO WORLD WARS SONNY sentiment that so many if them have. It’s not the greatest gun ever invented and far from it these days.

I have one for my hellcat and one for my AR. Cost me ~1000 rounds of 9mm per system. Will I recommend it? It's fun, but I got more results just consistently dry firing.

Glock 43x, 7 yards, 10 rounds per target.

Are these good groups? I finally eliminated low left by holding the trigger down all the way through the recoil impulse instead of tapping it. Goal is to put 50 rounds through all of the green zones.

How often do you guys clean your guns? I think I've put 3 or 400 rounds through it and its looking pretty dirty.
>>
I've been dry firing my M9 for about a week, and I'm finally getting to the point where the front sight doesn't jerk when the trigger breaks. I picked up my S&W Model 29 that I barely shoot and hate the trigger of, and now the trigger feels amazing. It turns out I was just a week baby.
It's a really good feeling.
>>
>>65412087
That's a decent start. You're still definitely pulling low left though, try to not tense up your firing hand when actuating the trigger. Only move the trigger finger, not the others! If you want to clean your gun, you can, but modern guns can go thousands of rounds between cleanings without impairing function.

>>
>>65412172
>was that texas ruling gonna affect other states at all or was it just another baby step towards repealing the NFA?
the court ruling curb stomped the NFA and everyone who bitched and moaned about the OBBB removing the tax would make the NFA permanent needs to write a "I'm sorry I was wrong letter" to their local republican (if they voted for the OBBB)".

What the court ruled is that since the NFA was a register-to-tax scheme and in the tax code, with the tax being 0 dollars, the register-to-tax scheme cannot exist. It did not touch on 2nd amendment grounds at all since the NFA was unconstitutional on tax code reasons. Congress would have to pass a new law for the NFA to continue existing per the court. This is unlike the Gun control Act of 1968 which was in the criminal law section, the NFA was in the tax code. So machine guns is probably not going to happen but registery for suppressors, SBR, SBS, AOW are out.

The court has allowed a week for the government to appeal but the 9-0 ruling was pretty clear that they don't have any options.

>Cool pistol in any case, anon! How much was it, $350 on Aims Surplus? Thanks man! I really appreciate that. Your Glock is cool too. I actually got it on Classic Firearms a couple years ago. They were Gen 2 trade-ins from the Department of Corrections. They were advertised for $299, but after it was all said and done, it was more like around 4 or 450 unfortunately. I think the main thing is the time restrictions. A lot of anons here are not used to shooting on the clock. Just my 2 cents

Watch lots of Ben Stoeger’s videos, specifically his class clips. Sometimes he says something really profound (hence why it was clipped) or shows a good drill.

I had plateaued at 1.0-1.1 for a while and then suddenly one day I was able to hit .8 (with poor accuracy) but I kept that pace but did more target/sight confirmation (more accurately color confirmation) to land A zone hits in .9.

This is probably one of the most important videos on red dot shooting and shooting in general, other than grip and stuff.

Thanks, been practicing my dry fire draws for about 15-20 minutes a night after work to get better with indexing my BG 2.0 since indexing was something he stressed in a red dot video was good for both dots and irons. Already saw a huge improvement at the range today when I did draw drills on the dueling tree.

"The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. ... A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. ... But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness"

In your graphic, the sears are all integral to the triggers (not separate components)

How inane of a description for sear track.

>>65413747
So that's why you keep calling me SGT. Take your own life, queer.
>>
>>65413954
>How inane of a description for sear track
what he was saying has nothing to do with a "sear track"
pistols like the P320 and VP9 have a fully cocked striker which means that actuating the trigger drops the sear from the sear tab on the striker
pistols like the glocks have a partially cocked striker and the last 5% of cocking travel is provided by the cruciform on the trigger bar pushing the striker back, then dropping the sear to release it

...none of which relate to what the retard in the NRA pic was talking about because it's pretty clear he's referring to the series 70 in relation DA/SA triggers that cock the hammer and DA/SA & striker triggers that have to depress a FP block plunger or rotate an FP block which people thinks adds creep or slop to a trigger pull (it doesn't, really)

Those are all parameters of the sear track so consolidating them makes for more efficient terminology.
>retard in the NRA
That much we certainly agree upon!
>>
>>65414013
>Those are all parameters of the sear track so consolidating them makes for more efficient terminology.
they're all separate actions performed by totally different components, the sear track has nothing to do with it, it's just a molding in the rear assembly to prevent the cruciform from going askew
the sear track is not the thing causing the sear to drop, that's performed by the cam tab

They're all necessitated by sear travel and a path entirely defined by the track but let's not argue semantics since we fundamentally agree how a Glock striker works.

Five seconds between rounds is enough time to hit the A-zone of an IPSC twice at 50 yards but if I fail at this then the target will be brought closer (25 yards). Jordan Salinas' suppressor and 20-round magazine aren't conducive to drawing nor reloading so I won't bother with any of that.
