>>65418168Would a conventional enclosed red dot or holo work in orbit or on the moon?
>>65418179No. Space and glass is like water and glass. They blend together so well that the light has nothing to reflect off of, so the light from the sight just fucks off into space.
I made something im going to blog about it
hope these posts aren't too BORING
Anyone else experiencing delays at Childers for receivers?
but I didn't think it warranted a new THREAD
It fits!
I should make a MILLion of these
nevermind this shit took all day
Almost there
Done!
yes i have a stamp dont kill my dog plzthank you for reading my blog
>>65418344Nice dubs, we're screwed.>>65418361Is the left one the one you're cloning, or a just a second try? If the latter, what is it? Looks kinda like a knock off SRVV Jet Brake. >>65418368Seems like a lot of work just to have essentially a $5 AMD brake. But neat, and nice work.
>>65418411the one on the right is a 3d print I found on the internet left is the one I made
>>65418426Ah ok, I'm retarded. I was basing that on the milling lines but since it's printed that makes perfect sense.Again, nice work. Let us know how well/poor it functions.
>>65418344Silly anon, bolt goes in receiver.
I know this is stupid but I want to take the scope rail off of my kit build. All I'd have to do is re rivet 1 rear trunnion rivet and the center support right? And maybe reblue which i want to do anyway. I just think they look cleaner, practicality and resale value be damned
>>65418168are there any good options for a tri or quad rail handguard for an m70? something similar to a b10m and 19 basically
What's your dream AK?
>>65420274Transferable picrel
Could I interest any of you fine fellows in a parts kit? The I believe most of the rivets are there, but you will need a front trunnion, barrel and a receiver.I’ll do 350 for everything. The sock and the box are included.
What's the difference between this "krinkov style flash hider" and the 4 piece Bulgarian flash hider? I know the 4 piece are supposed to be the best but they look dumb as shit.
>>65418168>>65418179Best option for an Ak in space would be a smart targeting system. Optics wouldn’t work in space. Space suits and helmets are currently too bulky to get a good cheekweld. The environments where spray and pray is even remotely viable are the same environments where it would be a detriment to both friendlies and critical equipment. A smart targeting lock-on system with say, gyrojet technology for better terminal ballistics on the moon would be the perfect lunar battle implement.
>>65421855Or this one?
>>65420846Are you the georgia guyId really like to but I have too many unfinished projects as is
>>65421855krink was supposed to give more backpressure for reliable cycling in the shorter combo gas block krink. It just looks the coolest. Might give your gun more recoil and beat itself a little harder if put on a full size AK, but it doesn't really matter. 4 piece bulgarian gives good flash suppression and directs a lot of the noise forward. It's heavy as fuck that's why some people say it decreases recoil. It doesn't actually have anything that decreases recoil. The last style has very good flash suppression that's it
>>65422038I got 8inch gun I'm picking up monday, I'll probably just go with the plain flash suppressor unless there's a good reason to get the recoil thing, reliability wise. Is there?
>>65422077not really, just looks cool. Just get whatever you think looks cooler
what tools are required to build an AK from a parts kit? i want to build one but i don't really know what else i would need to buy to get it up and running. i'm not planning on fabricating my own reciever.
Is there any chance of a Russian loss in Ukraine will flood the market with cheap surplus 7.62x39 or 5.45x39? It's probably foolish but I dream of a brighter future
I got a question for you all that's been bugging me.I've been poring over old Soviet manuals, trying to learn the manual of arms of an average Soviet soldier back in the mid 20th century. Not some Spetsnaz operator, just your average Soviet conscript. When doing an emergency reload (mag dry, no rounds in the chamber), after inserting a fresh mag, were they taught to rack the charging handle with their right hand, or their left?I know using your left hand and reaching under and around the rifle is considered the meta, but was that how it always was? Please /akg/ I need to know or I might die of autism.
I want this so bad
>>65422015Yeah, that’s me.I understand, friend. I bought it a couple years ago, but as I’ve gotten a little older I’ve been realizing that having more crap just adds more stress to my life. Plus, I’ve got an AR, and see no real need to have an AK (at least at this point).
>>65422797If you're right handed the soviet doctrine was to break grip to actuate the safety and charging handle, then replace hand on the grip for firing.Lefties don't exist.
>>65418168That'd fill up with moon dust? Rapidly?More importantly. IF you use such a device, you want to make *damn* sure there's zero possibility for counter on your habitat/craft. Because that will be the natural target, you'll not be living very long without it.Need to cure yourself of this futile mentality or your species isn't going to be leaving orbit, let alone the solar system: Too busy smashing each other's radiators as they require to be exposed and forcing them to shutdown or just cook themselves. Space is hostile. That doesn't mean there's something to fight. That means everything is going to kill you. You work together, or you all die. It's that simple.
>>65421942Or just use long eye relief scopes
>>65422192Hydraulic press, barrel population tubes, rivet jigs, and various fixturing blocksI woul say watch "ginsboy2003" on YouTube but 3/4 of his shit got purged. There may still be some videos left though
>>65418214Wait have we tested this before? Has anyone sent holsuns or AI points up into space?
>>65420846Ill think about it, if it aint sold in like a month's time, Ill contact you via email
>>65418214What the fuck are you talking about? A rdd dot should work the same in space
>>65418214then how the flip do windows on the ISS work dumdum
>>65423534Based sounds good anon.
>>65422856Lefties do exist but they live in sin.
>>65425487I meant more in the sense of existing as far as Soviet doctrine was concerned. That poor AMD. Nice mag though.
I am going to sbs my vepr 12
An amazing experience from a bygone era ;_;
Is silver bear/ golden tiger ammo corrosive?
>>65418168>>65421942Why do you need all this? Just slap a CPU or two and some wires on the receiver to make it shoot lasers and call it a day
>>65425964Before or after you drink ocean water?
>>65421942Why would you need a cheekweld with a holo?
>>65418168Anyone else ever see an R stamp on the spine of a mag like this? Possible Hungarian as one of the two mags I was looking at (not sure which one) had a man on the moon stamp. No pics of baseplate or follower or horizontal ribs, sorry. Just took it and totally blanked on mag ID methods as I thought I would go back for a second look and didn't get a chance to.>captcha answer is a crescent moonWtf
where have you lads been finding 7.62x39? Besides ammoseek and the usual gundeals type places. I've been lucky to get some at a local pawn shop for around .52 cpr, any similar experiences out?
>>65427792DDR would be my best guess. Spot welds don't flag as Romy to me, and the stamping definition says East German to me.Without any other pics it's kinda hard to say for certain though. Here's an EG for reference.
>>65427191nope, its non-corrosive.
RIP semi auto rifles in CO. At least I got a few before the restrictions went into effect
>>65427915my condolences. make sure to take care of it anon
>>65427915thats unfortunate
>>65427234>Just slap a CPU or twoIs them CPU's?Or is them supposed to be high current solid state capacitors?>Why doProbably something to do with thermodynamics. You see, on Earth what's stopping man-portable energy weapons is the power source. We can build a ten megawatt laser. We can get that package down to something you can pick up and walk around with. What you can't walk around with is the literal power station it takes to feed it. But in space you have a bigger issue: The lack of condiction. You only have IR to bleed off heat, which is the least efficent form of transfer. Even if your little laser is only 100W (For scaling, at focal point my 4W burning laser will go 3-5mm thru steel per pass) then you're not gettin' many shots outta that before it's hot enough to combust you...If you absolutely must start such petulance then a centrafugal launcher would impart kinetic energy into a projectile without wasting it on you.But why bother with the grunts when you can just spin up a shipping container and release it into their habitat. They'll die soon enough. The natural termination of that line is everyone fucks everyone over large scale and steadily escalating and everyone dies.Well done. Give yourself a goldfish.
>>65427898local gun store selling it for a little cheaper than market price on Ammoseek and local guns classifieds from private sellers when i see a great price
>>65427915My gun laws aren't nearly as bad but still dystopian (IL), here's hoping the Supreme Court wacks the of the blue states later this year.
>>65428565>There's 2 of usNorth or south (of I-80)?I'm not too up to date on Colorado's bullshit, but there's no way it's worse than our PICA horseshit and the FOID.97% non-compliance is cool and all, but very few vendors will even ship anything here.
>>65427902Shit, looks like I passed up on a decent price for one of those. Thanks anon.

I won this on Gunbroker for $1875, ended up being $2080 total. How'd I do?
What’s the better route when it comes to kits in terms of long term value? I worry about parts availability if I go the kit route.A. Build them correct and later decide to sellB. Hoard the kits and then sell them once supply has dried up
Whatever happened with the atf saying they were going to allow guns to be imported from previously barred from importation countries? Vaporware?
>>65432054Do you have a lot of parts kits right now? What kinds? I feel like if you're just going to resell, common stuff like romanians and yugoslavs wouldn't be worth building, just sell the kits as is. But a well done russian build with correct paint I think would be worth more as a gun than the sum of its parts
>>65432161What about milled kits?
>>65432054>buy thing you dont want so you can jew people later onKys scalper
>>65432223Projecting. I have the kits already.
>>65431795Isn't that the going rate for these? Also is this SBR or Pin&Weld?
>>65431795200 in extra fees? Nigga you got raped>>65432151It was a proposed rule. It takes them publishing it in the Federal Register and a 30-90 day comment period to have any effect

>>65433301Wtf is that stock? But in a good way.
>>65433530Rare AIMR stock, one of my dream stocks if I could find alongside the Egyptian crutch stock.
>>65433535JMac needs to make more.Unfortunately it's not exactly a high demand thing since it needs a special receiver to use.Would be kind of neat to see one made for an AMD receiver.JMac has Tabuk Rook muzzle devices in 14x1LH, in case anyone wants one.

Troy Sellars at In Range no longer does Saiga conversions. Can any anons recommend someone who can convert my dimpled 223 Saiga to AK-101 spec with akstuff parts?

>>65441051thanks for turning another abomination into a proper AK. Everyone liked that
>>65441120Pour one out for the dimple receiver Saigas that didn’t make it.
>>65441170I may be weird but I genuinely like the sporter look of a saiga, it just feels right, but If I ever in the future decided to do a conversion if would have to be on a SGL.
>>65420274>dream AKAn AR15
>>65441051What happened to AKStuff parts?>Azerbaijani shitWell at least none of it is structural.I'm sure it'll be fine.>>65441378SGL don't need converting. They're already 100 series pattern. I suppose there were some fixed stock SGLs but that's not the same conversion from a sporter Saiga to a 100 series.
>>65441378The Saiga kinda looks funny, especially with the FSB at the way end of the barrel but I can maybe understand. I think the Norinco Hunters look kinda nice. A Chinese 10 or 20 and side mount scope look good on these, especially a gloss finish Leupold or something. Also I wish I picked up another few of those Saiga mags when Apex had them for like $10 a while back. The front and the top front corners need a small amount of fitting but they seem pretty solid. Haven't had a chance to get it to the range though.
>>65441399akstuff parts are Azerbaijani. Everything they have branded “Russian Standard” is actually Iglim. It was easier to order from Atlantic because you don’t have to add everything to cart individually. They also have the selector and cleaning rod in stock, akstuff didn’t.
>>65418168I don't think those radiators are big enough.
>>65441800Fair enough, dubs. Enjoy the 101, when you eventually get it back.Gotta start hunting for rare 5.56 mags now.
>>65441852I am doing a Russian rear trunnion at least. I’m going to try to trade the Iglim trunnion for a handguard when it comes in. Pod is modifying the front trunnion to take 74 pattern mags so I don’t know if actual 101 magazines will work in it.
>>65441908So let me see if i got this straight. You're going to permanently modify a 5.56x45 rifle to take 5.45x39 mags except 5.56x45 won't feed for shit out of them so you're going to have to use custom followers (that the guy converting it conveniently makes and sells) for every single mag, forever? You're retarded as fuck, but it's a free country I guess.
>>65441948The vast majority of 5.56 AKs take 74 pattern magazines. All of the Circle 10s, commercial Bulgarian magazines, and Beryl magazines are 74 pattern. The front trunnion modification changes it to match SLR106 geometry.
>>65441968Oh I guess I thought the 5.56 was somehow vastly different, but then how would that follower work for 74 mags in the first place if that was the case. I suppose they're either 74 pattern or Weiger (and M85/M90 which are apparently also unique) and nobody is going to purposely chose to use Weigers over 74 pattern.I apologize for calling you retarded. Clearly I'm the retard and wasn't thinking it out.
>>65442183It’s all good. If I left the front trunnion alone I’d be stuck with Wiegers and Galil magazines. I probably will grab a couple of pod followers so I can get a bake and plumb magazine.
>>65420274An AK-104.>>65441381tranny
Welp I finally picked it up and joined the Kalashnikov klub, but better late than never I guess. I was the guy asking about muzzle devices up thread. Glad I went all out and got the arsenal, it feels great. Plan is to put the straight flash hider and a cnc brace on it until hopefully the courts do away with the nfa and I can silence/sbr without paperwork. Mine is has a serial number starting with 62 which reddit says might be a problem, can any of you guys tell me what I should be looking for as far as that goes? Also what's this funny cylindrical doohickey it came with under the gun in this pic?
>>65443825I want to do this to mine, >>65445351how hard would it be to fit the furniture to the gun? Is it just some sanding or do I need a vice and tools and shit?
>>65445351>Also what's this funny cylindrical doohickey it came with under the gun in this pic? That's your cleaning kit>>65445414You want to try and turn a milled pistol into a stamped AKMSU?Good luck, lel. The first problem you're going to run into is even finding the furnitureSince Ironwood died, nobody really makes a good clone of that handguard anymore. Kalashnicarver might make you one for the SAM7K if you throw money at them. They don't even have the original one on their site anymore, just a weird "hollow dong" abomination, but they did make one (at least for Yugos) so they know how.https://www.kalashnicarver.com/M92-m85-AKSU-Style-Lower-Handguard-p488967329The only versions of that muzzle device that exist outside of Pakistan are airshit.Oh and that one Ted Marshall made for Machine gun Mike.
>>65428087Hand held chemical lasers like PEPshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulsed_energy_projectileBattery isn't the primary source of output power, chemical reaction is.
>>65445531>That's your cleaning kitYeah I got that part figured out, now I can't figure out how get the little fucker open.>You want to try and turn a milled pistol into a stamped AKMSU?Yeah that kinda is what I wanted to do. I guess it is a stupid idea. Mostly I just liked the way that lower handguard looks and I don't like the dongs, but if they're out of production, whatever. I was looking at kalashnikarver and some other company for wood furniture. Is it a hassle/ require a lot of tools and skill to fit this stuff that's already made for a sam7 or just a little sanding or something?
>>65445871>I can't figure out how get the little fucker open.Press down and twist the cap>Is it a hassle/ require a lot of tools and skill to fit this stuff that's already made for a sam7 or just a little sanding or something?Tools and mechanical know-how aside, you bought a milled krink pistol; the snowflakiest of snowflake AKs when it comes to furniture/parts compatibility.Probably would've been easier to start from a SAS M-7UFK if you wanted to go for the AKMSU look. But you should hit up Kalashnicarver and ask them if they can make one for you.Like I said they have the plans so I'm sure they can do it, for a price. If not, there's always this $300+ set from Combloc Customs.
